that song was a total cry for help, and the b side night talk was the story of the sleaze that goes with a life of needles in arms, very sad, numan done this or both songs with all his heart,he loved the man as only best friends can, great to hear it live by the way ,love it
Yes I can remember reading about it in magazines and a report from his fan Club Magazine-shame a lot of pop stars go this way but I don't see that as sad-just downright tragic and avoidable with the right help.
This is about a re-recording as you will get, as most of this album was overdubbed in the studio afterwards, specially this song, the whole vocal was re-recorded as I was at that show and he messed up the lyrics, but it's gone on this version.
goin to see the GAZMAN tomorrow SYDNEY havent seen him since deeside leisure centre way back wen ,ha ha some of you remember wen !now were in may 2014 maarn im old not as old as the nu newman tho !! xx will post a track
yes i know what you mean.the sadness i spoke of was that his death ocurred in a park, while no-one was with him.how bleak a picture is that.heroin= powdered killer...and that,m8 is just not good enough.
I wish Numan would play this in one of his more recent concerts... Such an underrated song.
I haven't heard this song in forever 😊❤ rock on Gary!
Not heard that live version before, I've seen Gary luve 14 times. Brilliant, thank you.

Love this Song Numan-it has a sort of sadness about it you can't quite grasp...
R.I.P Paul Gardiner...
the sadness comes from knowing that its writer, paul gardiner died on a park bench in london, apparently during a time that he was taking heroin.tragic.
