    As I actually come from Brno and I own this gun, let me correct a couple of mistakes in otherwise great review ... firstly, Brno is name of the city, not factory. Name of the factory was Zbrojovka (gunworks) Brno. Secondary - in 1950 and 1960 general population was prohibited to own the gun, so it was NOT for common people, as you said. It was only for military training + the military organized youth organizations (SVAZARM) + organized sport teams /biatlon, etc.../ and forest workers /gamekeepers/ with the appropriate license. Thirdly, Czechoslovak gunsmith industry was (and still is) one of the best ones in the world (that is why Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia at the beginning of the WWII - he stole so much arms, tanks, etd... to be able to continue in war effort). And this gun is a proud attest to the quality of the Czech gunsmith work from 70 years ago ... latest product is CZ-P10 from czub.cz /another Zbrojovka/ :) ...

    I own one of these as well. I expected a cheap plinking gun capable of mediocre accuracy, but if I concentrate and do my part, it will print under 1" at 50 yds with the right ammunition. It seems to favor a 40 gr lead round at subsonic velocities. FMJ are not as accurate; at least not in my rifle. Excellent video, excellent rifles.

    I also have one from 1950. Have you shot any shorts out of it ?

    What is the best 22lr bolt action rifle for the money? I mean most accurate.
    And second question is if any 22lr semiauto rifle can have the same accuracy like bolt action rifle?

      Great questions! I've got a Savage Mark2 bolt action 22 that I paid $115 for at Walmart (I've seen them recently priced at $125) and it's very accurate especially for the price. Unfortunately, at that price range the accuracy will not be consistent from rifle to rifle due to quality control. If you're willing to spend $400+ on a bolt action 22lr then it's hard to beat a CZ-455 until you get into the real high dollar stuff. I've seen very accurate Ruger 10/22s on the range where there wasn't anything original on the entire rifle including the receiver. Many 22s can be very accurate if the correct ammo is used. Every rifle has it's preferred ammo and it can be different for two rifles of the same model so experimentation is key and sometimes a quick call to the manufacture to get on the right track.

      I would like to get my hands on one of those or a 512. It's really hard to beat an old Remington 22. Luckily, their new ones aren't too shabby when compared to what others are making today.

    I have a weapon with the same appearance as this one, has the same name, built by the same factory, but takes 9mm ammo. Do you know anything about this varient?

    • @deuceandguns
      @deuceandguns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do! Those are the 9mm garden guns and most if not all are smooth bore intended to be loaded with 9mm shotshell ammo called 9mm Flobert ammo. Basically, it's a 9mm shotgun intended to kill rats in a garden. There may be a variant that takes traditional 9mm pistol ammo but most in not all were 9mm rimfire shotshell which is still available today from Fiocchi.
