- Video game music is becoming more and more popular. The rise of Videogame music concerts is in increasing demand. Electronic videogame soundtracks made as a remix or orchestral arrangement are fast growing and now amassing huge followings on TH-cam. Iconic soundtracks like Super Mario, Final Fantasy and The Legend of Zelda are some of the most loved and listened to, especially when a musician takes a theme or track and arranges it for other instruments, turns it into an electronic remix or orchestrates it for a full orchestra, all with their own ideas in mind, giving the music a new lease of life, uplifting, relaxing, invigorating and entertaining the listeners, something you would hear on Classic FM. A soundtrack from a Videogame could be turned into a symphonic journey, a waltz, a medley or whatever the artist can create.

This is an arrangement for a full orchestra; a Waltz based on two themes: The Underwater music from Super Mario Bros., and Super Mario World.
It's modelled on the Waltzes of Strauss and Tchaikovsky. It's an attempt at taking videogame music themes, and turning it into a coherent Symphonic language. I have had plans on writing this piece for some years, as the melodies make fantastic material for a Waltz - the bouncy rhythms lend themselves to powerful and vivid orchestration.
In this arrangement, I intended to evoke the atmosphere of a 19th Century Dance Hall. After a slow introduction, based on the opening line of the SMW Underwater theme, the theme is then played through in its entirety, first in the Woodwinds, then in the Strings, as the Brass provides the rhythm, before building up to the end of the section where the music modulates from F major to C major. The SMB Underwater theme is brought in, being played through three times in ever increasing thickness of orchestration, before the music comes to a radiant conclusion using a segment of the SMB Underwater theme in a Tchaikovsky-esque Coda.

This version of the Marine Waltz would fit in on at ant river or costal cruise ballz from 1800 to 2023. Absolutely sublime.

2:40 Is very underrated. It sounds like the finale to the perfect film.
If you listen carefully, it's actually a fragment of Dire Dire Docks from Super Mario 64 (played in the strings), only altered from 4/4 time to 3/4 time!

I honestly started silently weeping like a baby a bit while listening to this. I was reading a short article about Dostoevsky's quote, "Beauty will save the world", from The Idiot. I suppose this rendition, the loftiness mixed with nostalgia and deeper thought and catharsis... everything rendered and burst the dams. Bravo and bless you, I need more.

Smw underwater orchestra is so perfectly fitting, something like this should show up someday in a mario game. A vast ocean with dancing fish all around, you travel through a bloopers village, some eel filled caverns and so fourth, it would be a great adventure for not just mario, but us players. Id like to thank you for making this masterpiece of a remix Ben Emberley. I love it!👍

This has great romantic expression to the level of first vienese school.
The underwater theme for super Mario Bros sounds very similar to Tim Burton's Batman film soundtrack waltz to the death
