What about knee compression sleeves? I have feeling of tight rubberband around knee at 5 months and thought a knee compression sleeve would help reduce the feeling. Standing seems to aggravate it and it speads to a larger after exercising. Ice and elevation helps.

Knee compression sleeves are perfectly okay to use and offer a mild form of compression and there can be some mental benefit of having the tactile sensation of the sleeve. You just want to be careful you have a good fit that is not too tight to reduce circulation to your lower legs.

I'm 9 weeks post op. After PT, I'm quite sore and just want to hug the knee. Pushing on it feels good. Can I wear a compression sleeve on the knee to give me some relief without causing any damage?

In general, as long as the compression is not excessive there is very little risk of injury or issue. Changes in color of the leg (blue or purplish), numbness, tingling sensation in the leg, increased pain are some of the symptoms to be aware of.
