Do you have the chance to try Sky Team ? One of the best 2 player games from last year.
Not yet but we keep hearing fantastic things about it. Can’t wait to pick that up eventually!
Love the list! Y'all should look up Pagan: Fate of Roanoke for an under the radar 2 player only game.
Also really love On The Underground: London/Berlin and Valley of the Kings: Premium Edition at 2 player count.
Pagan looks very interesting and love the art. We really want to try these. Thanks for the recommendations!
Cracking list guys, and enjoyed your presentation
Thank you so much! That’s so nice to hear! ☺️
I've found that a lot of my favorite games to play at two players are games that also play at different player counts.
This would include games like (to name a handful) Castles of Burgundy, Grand Austria Hotel, Obsession, Wingspan (though the two-player-centric Wingspan Asia is preferred), Viticulture, and roll/flip-and-writes like Railroad Ink or Cartographers. Most escape room style games (like, the Exit series) also make for great two-player experiences.
Some 2-player-only games I love are Agricola: All Creatures Big & Small, Targi, Watergate, Jekyll vs. Hyde, Raptor, and Akrotiri.
Ok, I gotta try Caper Europe. I've seen it on too many lists at this point. Thanks, guys!
Btw, is there a game genre that you think doesn't have a good 2 player game in it?
Yes definitely get Caper Europe! It has no right being as good as it is haha. And thank you for watching! We haven’t found too many games that seem like the 2 player aspect is lacking so to speak. But that’s mostly because we end up making it more fun, especially if it’s cooperative, we take on 2 roles sometimes. I think out of all genres, cooperative games work better with more players, it gets that table talk going!
Have you tried Unmatched Adventures: Tales to Amaze? I've heard it's really great- you can use its characters to play competitively as usual, but it also introduces a new co-op experience.
We have not but definitely plan on picking it up soon!
You should try Caesar! Seize Rome in 20 Minutes and Undaunted Normandy
Those are definitely on our list for sure and hopefully we can pick them up soon!
I feel I need to try Arkham Horror: The Card Game a try. I've been eyeing it for some time now. And, there's so many expansions and standalone scenarios available, too. Which ones have you tried? Which ones would you recommend?
Yes it’s so so good and we honestly haven’t explored past core box but definitely want to and know about a few of the expansion scenarios.
@TableZopps oh my goodness the corebox is the least interesting box haha. Try the dunewhich legacy first!
