I agree. IMO, we are the harshest judge to crimes we have committed. Sunset has used magic and hurt others before, so seeing somebody else do the same (accidental or not) caused her to outrage because she knows what that does on a personal level.
I would've liked it better if Sunset gave Sci-Twi a chance/tried to be nice to her like her friends did instead of being suspicious of her right from the start.
@@renababe1 but she has every rights to be. She doesn’t know this version of Twilight and the latter is causing trouble, even if it’s by accident.
yeah, I also see that Sunset projected herself somewhat into Sci-Twi, that she is kind of making the same mistake as her: use magic and hurt others before; Sunset also thought she herself was smart, but even so, she wasn't able to foresee what happened to her when she put on the crown.. although she did have rights about being suspicious of her, after Sci-Twi had to do with absorbing the portal (and she accidentally exposed their magic in public, when the portals appeared on the motocross track)

Well if you think about it, Sunset wasn't the first to bring magic into the human world. Even ignoring Legend of the Evergreen,

Friendship Games has always been my favorite EG movie and I've been WAITING for you to cover it! I never fully understood why (little kid me just boiled it down to "well I'm literally Rainbow Dash and this movie is sporty", but there was definitely still more to that) and I think you pretty much explained everything that I only ever subconsciously knew- the narrative was the best from the franchise, the dynamic between Sunset & EG Twilight, and it was the peak of Sunset's character arc

I want to know , what the last event of the friendship games even are supposed to be 😭 like they are sitting across from each other each other and there isn’t anything in the middle, like what is it
Capture the flag is essentially keep away. Both sides have a base and a flag. You want to invade the other side and take their flag back to your base while protecting your own flag.

@@juliemesser2053 it sounds petty cause it is on its own, but you do not know my relationship. it was the last straw in showing me that they weren’t committed to our relationship. we had started to watch the movie, but they had me pause in the middle and wait for a while as they texted their friend instead. if that was the situation on it’s own, i’d 1000% agree with you on it’s ridiculousness 👽
Honestly, I comprehend.
I'm genuinely impressed with what they were able to accomplish with the Equestria Girls premise, took a strange idea, ran with it - made it work, and gave us Sunset Shimmer, one of the best characters in both universes.
I personally prefer Rainbow Rocks because I liked the premise more as well the villians, but man this movie does hold its own and has some great songs.
Still not sure about Sunset's outfit, but her transformation in the end makes up for it
Rebecca Soichet really shines when she's dueting with herself in What More Is Out There (Extended vers) and in the end credits Right There In Front of Me. Although the film's plot was changed, the end credits song is still very much a response to the duet version of What More Is Out There

Apparently it was going to have Sunset feeling homesick and wonder about going back home or not
Sci-Twi’s first song was originally a duet with Sunset
3. The alternate ending had Sci-Twi staying at Crystal Prep and becoming friends with the Shadowbolts!
I’d watch a spinoff series of sci-twi teaching crystal prep about friendship tbh

I'm still kinda bummed they changed Sunset's outfit. I get it, it's supposed to be symbolic of her going to the light side, but it just doesn't hit as much as her last outfit

i recently rewatched all the equestria girls movies and friendship games is SO much better than i remember it being, genuinely SUCH a good movie and my favorite after rainbow rocks. the soundtrack is also crazyyyyy good. the first equestria girls movie is just ok for me and i remember disliking legend of everfree but that's next on my rewatch list so we'll see lol. i watched your rainbow rocks video and you have correct opinions so i look forward to the next one 👍👍

This was the first Equestria Girls movie I ever saw...and boy was I lost. But it did captivate my interest enough to do something I never thought I'd do...order all four movies online and go watch My Little Pony from the beginning and follow the timeline properly.
I didn't realize twilight absorbed sunset magic just the portal but I know now
yeah, It took me a while to realize too, then I realized, that when Twilight absorbs the magic, it is red (Sunset's), but when she closes it and falls to the ground, a kinfd of electric current also appeared on her device (that's how it I interpreted that she had also absorbed the portal)
Friendship Games is still one of my favorite animated movies ever. I don’t get why people put Rainbow Rocks above this one, it’s just so good.
I think it’s mainly because of Rainbow Rocks’ soundtrack.
@@TheWildCard I prefer Friendship Games’ soundtrack. Welcome to the Show is the only Rainbow Rocks song I’d put above anything in Friendship Games. Acadeca, What More is Out There, CHS Rally, Unleash the Magic, even the intro song are all absolute bangers.
@@PatriotMapper I do like the Rainbow Rock plot more as well as the soundtrack - the villians and such. I do not like Release The Magic personally. Sunset's Outfit isn't great - But both movies are great tbh.
It's due to the Dazzlings, and to a lesser extent, Sunset Shimmer's redemption arc. No one would pet an eye on it more than any of the other movies where it not for them. I personally think it's a fun movie without them too, but they certainly consolidate this.
@@CozyGlow625 I definitely prefer the Dazzlings as antagonists to Cinch and I do love Sunset’s redemption arc, I just love seeing Sunset’s role as a protagonist more in Friendship Games than as a redeemed deuteragonist in Rainbow Rocks.
There is also a movie, more like a mini movie, called "Sunset tickets" i think.... it's like a loop it's fun, you should watch that too! 😁

I just realised something ! So, in this movie, we see Twilight from the human world. And we know that every pony has a human self in this world...then, who is sunset’s real human self ? Sunset originally comes from equestria, then she has to have a human self, right ? 😶

It's likely the Equestria Girls' version of mathematics.
I go back and forth between Friendship Games and Legend of Everfree as my favorite EG movie. I think I like LoE a little more, but FG is also really good. It's scary how Midnight Sparkle, one of the most evil and destructive villains in MLP, just wanted the same thing as Twilight: the "independent study program". Just disassemble the fabric of reality to learn more about it, while ignoring the objections of all the people ceasing to exist across multiple universes.
Also, the transcripts for the movie and everything that came after it also call the human Twilight Sci-Twi. That nickname just stuck.

They should have definitely left 'What more is out there' as a duet, maybe changing some lyrics to making it coherent with the last part of the movie and opening the space for Legends of everfree. But changing the duet to solo for me will always be a mistake. The duet is more than just beautiful and even for me the core center of EG media.

Would I be wrong to call the movie series... Camp? It's cheesy, it's cute, it's cult classic. And the main characters are all girls which of _course_ immediately implies that since we don't see them with guys other than Flash Sentry, and them all being aroace would be a bit too big of a coincidence....

this movie is filled with bullshit...i laugh at every fame of how bad it is...like why spike started speaking just because he entered the portal...most importantly what the hell was that device with twilight?...how did she created it without knowing anything about magic?
She created the device to track and contain energy. Magic isn’t that different from energy in the mlp universe. Spike started talking not because of the portals but because he got caught in Fluttershy’s magic stream when Twilight’s device was sucking it out of her.
