    My mother died in 2001, and I’m 52. She didn’t share much about her experiences, so I really rely on you! I do remember her saying she stopped menstruating at 53, but that’s about it. I also just learned that I’m going to be a grandma (yay) and my daughter and I are very close. All the things that my mom didn’t talk to me about…I am sharing a lot with her, she has a lot of questions, and this is how it’s supposed to be. You do a great service to those of us who don’t have that support.

      I'm 49 and my mom is 77. She never speaks of these things. I don't know when she had menopause. I asked and got silence. My older sister and I talk about this stuff. She's 50. So that helps

      Glad to be of help Candysummer. Yes, I was much the same, I was a late child and my mum passed well before I was even thinking about the menopause!
      Congratulations on going to be a grandma, it's a super thing! And yes, my daughters and I talk freely about the menopause and what they may experience.

    This is me! I dribbled all the time. But, it gets worse the week before my period (I’m 52). Then, lightens after my period. But, I must wear a pad everyday.

    I've never had a child so please Jesus I'll be spared this one because I'm after going through 10 years of the perimenopause from hell and I think I'm barely out the other side! I will be 50 soon and I blame Lyrica pregabalin for throwing me into an early menopause age 40. It also gave me acne. I'm off of it a good few years and thank God my neck nerve injury has healed so all I've got to worry about now is the arthritis in my shoulder which, tho painful, I compare it to nerve pain and there is no comparison....😂👍🇮🇪 blessings from Ireland thank you Eileen

    Just watching this video I need to go, lol. Mine is hearing water or coughing, sneezing. I have Cystitis since I was a child. I feel like I was prepared for this more than most women. It was still a surprise to find out how fast it hits you during the peri years. I do a lot of Kegel's. I had to stop my Pilates when I got a hernia that was my fault. I hope too get back to it soon. I do have one thing that helps as a medicine, it's Prelief. I don't know if you can get it in the U.K. It helps take the acid out of food so it won't irritate the bladder. It really does help. I also once a week take dandelion. If you have a ragweed allergy avoid dandelion. It helps "dexotify" my bladder.

    Having had a prolapse & total hysterectomy. I was told things may change to the bladder at this stage of life. Drinking 2-3 litres of water is what l’ve done, and l get up twice a night now to wee, which l never used to do. I wear a pad during the day as a preventative measure but have found thankfully l rarely if ever dribble. I don’t do pelvic floor exercises, which l know l should, but work in a job that requires kilometres of walking so l’m pretty stoked l’m getting the exercise in whilst l’m also getting paid carrying my clear 2 litre bottle of water so l can see exactly how much l have drunk throughout the day.
    Cheers Eileen for your advice!

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's great Sofia but maybe check out the pelvic floor exercises as walking may not be the most effective ones for those muscles - I've been told that you can actually do them whilst walking so you get double the benefit! :)

      Hi Eileen, now you do have my attention! If pelvic floor exercises can be performed whilst walking then it’s something l can learn.
      I wonder how it’s done?
      Cheers & thanks Eileen…l will do some research on that.

      Hi Garmina
      Unfortunatley, we can't really comment on this as it is more a condition which requires medical treatment or treatment under the guidance of a complementary practitioner; self-treatment is not recommended, sorry

    Thank you Eileen for all the help that you give us. I lost my mom nine years ago and so I don’t have anyone to ask about when I’m going through but not only am I getting leaking? I’m also seem to have a hormonal smell or something and I’m having a hard time I’ve used all kinds of deodorants any advice. Thank you.

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Betty
      It is common for the vagina to smell different or stronger; this is often caused by a change in the balance of friendly bacteria there. You may find a vaginal probiotic really helpful; a company called Optibac do a good one. Do try to avoid vaginal deodorants as these can affect the bacteria even further!

      @@AvogelCoUk thank you For your answer I am not sure if it’s coming from the vagina or just hormonal smell through my skin, but even though I take a shower, I get a sense from people that I have some kind of odor. I have been putting deodorant all over my body in, but not in my vagina just around the area and in between stomach and legs plus backside

    Can I ask you a question Eileen? Am I more likely to develop this if I wet the bed as a child until I was 12 which we all did in our family and all my cousins and it never lead to any problems for any of us in that department?

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Usually, bedwetting in children is either emotional, poor nerve function (from bladder to brain or vice versa) which usually resolves as the child gets older, or it can be that the child sleeps very deeply and doesn't wake at the signal from the bladder.
      If you've not had this since a child, it is unlikely to suddenly appear again but I can't guarantee this, sorry!
