I love to be by myself now. I do not need any company. Actually, people get on my nerves. I feel like I can't tolerate stupidity any longer. I'm on HRT but still feel that I want to be left alone.

I feel all of these things. Mostly just want to stay home and do my own thing. So stressful to go out and deal with people. So much stressful events going on in the world. My anxiety has been through the roof for the past week.

Thank you!! You’ve described everything I’ve been feeling.
Daily I would think and feel like….This is not my body and I am not this woman. What happened to the other woman? I want her back. Emotional detachment /disassociation 100% with some degree of depression. Weight gain is the additional slap in the face.
Menopause is often laughed at and joked about but it’s not a laughing matter. It’s life changing and life altering. Education is a must.

This is exactly what has happened to me. I find it difficult being around my friends. My relationship with my husband has changed….we’re the best of friends, but we don’t have an intimate relationship anymore. I’ve often thought it could be hormones. Very interesting. Thank you x

I can not thank you enough for this video. I’m completely numb. It’s affecting my relationships with everyone in my life. I feel like the walking dead, it’s absolutely horrible! I’m a grandma to 4 little ones under the age of 4 and I feel like I’m letting them down. I’ve pretty much checked out and cant get out of bed most days.

@@cyndieK1 I am so sorry I pray right now you can at least get up and get going. I have a very bad case and got my period until 57. I been on here complaining for years. Seriously you have to get up and take care of you. The grandkids are gonna understand someday. Don’t feel obligated is our problem also. I just had to tell these people I call my family I am SICK. If you don’t get it that is their problem now. I do what I want for myself. I love to exercise so that wasn’t my issue . I am now thinking clearer when the fog lifted. My daughter had a kid unmarried not my choice. My husband best figure his life out because I just run off with my friends. If he wants to rot that is also his choice. Marriage after my 3 kids raised, and I was super mom is jail. I want a get out free pass is my problem. Haha 😂 wanna meet me in Montana ? I am a great guide let’s go.

This was just what I needed to hear today, Eileen! I am in the worst throes of the perimenopause mood, cognition and emotional lability symptoms right now. Just hearing that this a "phase" that WILL PASS is a soothing balm! It's been going on for a couple of years for me, surely there must be some light at the end of this dark, seemingly endless tunnel! Great thanks.

I hope feeling this way means I'm nearing the last period! I'm 55 and still having a monthly period. Every month I pray that was the last one. They're coming every 24 days or so now. Cramps and moods for a week leading up to it. Every month when the symptoms return I get so despondent. When will it be over for good, I'm completely fed up with all of it.

      Hi Lana
Unfortunately, a small umber of women do have a late menopause. Usually, changing periods are often one of the first signs of the approach of the menopause so, hopefully, it won't be too long now.

Thank you for this video. I'm almost 45 and I am in early perimenopause. I've felt myself feeling like this lately. My husband is wonderful but I feel guilty if I snap at him or don't feel like intimacy and I work hard not to do that. Then there are everyday stressful situations and I have PTSD and anxiety. Top that off with covid and Ukraine and I've felt awful. So I realised I don't want to keep feeling like this so I take the vitamins Eileen suggested and some hormone balance supplements as well as exercise daily with my husband and a walk in nature with our dog.i eat very healthy and practice mindfulness and just taking day by day or even hour by hour some days. If I feel like taking me time to craft or have a nice bath I do because it helps and it helps my relationships too. I'm having some better days now. I still need to work on my sleep but I'm getting there. If I need to cry I do.I hope all the ladies that are seeing this feel better xo

Thank you so much! I had seven years of hell after an early menapause at 42 and refusal by three doctors to help. I was suicidal, depressed, had chronic anxiety, debilitating muscle pain and was mentally blank. I began menopace botanicals five weeks ago after visiting a health food store for some valerian. They were recomended by the store assistant. I have recovered 90% which is good enough! I love life now when I thought it was over before. Thsnk you so much! I also bought calcium vit D and magnesium.

Romantic emotions I seem not b able to produce anymore. But ... if I see romantic and moving stuff on TV I easily burst into tears. What the heck? I can not have my husband cuddle into me or approaching me in a tender way, but I need to cuddle into him like a little kid. This so all so irritating and disturbing, where is my old me??? I am emotional detached most of the day, in the night when I dream it is about being completely disoriented. I used to be on top of my match, now I seem to lose it ... Im 55 and I feel as if Im 80. But now and then I feel like 17. Which is AS ridiculous ...

It’s very helpful to see and understand this. I feel like my wife has been gone for decades. I would think since her 40s. It’s a struggle. She is struggling. Its erased me and our marriage nearly entirely. I pray she recovers as soon as possible. It has broken me. I am trying to be as mature as I can, but it really makes her entirely emotionally unavailable. My kids see it. I have been working on myself. In fact, I’m ready to start therapy. I am trying to keep perspective. It’s really tough. She used to treat people so well. A monster has taken her. I keep telling myself she’s doing her best. I’m not going anywhere. I’m riding it out.

I am 50, and saw my doctor last year to see if I am in perimenopause. He did all of the blood work which showed that while I'm not in it yet, my testosterone levels were low, so I'm now on testosterone cream for it. It has helped with a lot of the symptoms including more of a normal sex drive, but I still feel really detatched emotionally. But I don't believe it's entirely hormonal. I grew up in a very violent home. My dad was an angry drunk, while my mom was an emotionally messed up woman. Neither parent received help for their issues, so my brother and I grew up with our own sets of emotional baggage. Throw in being sexually molested at age 8, and sexually assaulted at ages 13 and 16, and you have a truly emotionally damaged woman. I have seen several counselors and therapists over the years who have diagnosed me as having depression, anxiety, panic disorder, ptsd, even borderline bipolar with some borderline personality disorder traits. I have worked hard over many years to overcome layers of issues, but there are some scars that just can't heal completely. It may not be a problem for many women but I know it plays a huge part in my situation. I have always had problems connecting with people and it has caused problems in my marriage. As I get older I have found that I love being on my own and don't care for the company of others much at all. It takes a lot of intentional work to stay connected to my husband and kids. I have been very open and honest with them about my past and where I'm at today so they know that the issues don't lie with them but me. They know I love them dearly. All of this to say that I believe that emotional trauma and pain can play a big part in hormonal problems as well. It takes a lot of work with counselors and therapists to get through the mess, but healing can come. Just thought I would share this as some food for thought.

Thank you so much for your comments Kim, I am sure this will help other women in the same situation and well done for all the hard work you have done, it couldn't have been an easy road. Yes, we are finding that the emotional place women are in when approaching the menopause can have a huge impact on symptoms and how difficult or easy it may be going forward.

I was beginning to think I was going crazy. My relationship with my husband has been strained bcuz I can't answer to the reason I am not interested in sex anymore and why I cringe when he touches me. We talk and I hv nothing to say when he sits in front of me w/tears in his eyes and says that he thinks I don't love him anymore and I just feel empty and numb inside that I can't even respond to him. I literally feel void of all feelings, its so strange. I reached menopause this past July but hv realized that I had bn detaching from my husband for the last year. He doesn't believe that menopause is to blame. We will start couples and individual therapy soon. Hopefully a psychologist can help him understand what I am going through bcuz I can't.

The last year I had my period and for about a year, I could not stand to be around people, especially at home. I was so exhausted from work. I would get home. I moved into the spare bedroom (husband had no clue what was going on with me, I didn't talk about it.) just wanted to be alone. I even thought about moving out. I still loved my husband, but felt like he didn't want me anymore. Stuff my head came up with. Not anything he did. Well one day about a year or so later, something clicked and the nightmare was over. I came clean with husband, he set me straight. And we went back to be happily married. Sex stopped due to me having to many physical issues caused by menopause. I still do not like being around people, (Introvert my whole life) but I have never been a people person. They stress me out to much.

      Hi H
Yes, this is actually quite a common symptom but can be caused by a number of different factors. Low vitamin D and B12 can be triggers so make sure that your doctor as test for these just to rule them out. I have posted a video blog on this and what you can do to help yourself so please do take a look. www.avogel.co.uk/health/menopause/videos/3-surprising-symptoms-of-menopause-explained/

I thought menopause caused those symptoms in me but my doctor tested my thyroid & l found out it’s because its under active. Did your doctor suggest a thyroid blood test before suggesting those meds he put you on? I’m on a thyroid tablet for the rest of my life now.

I am nearly 37 and i am emotionless the last 2 weeks. I have all the symptoms of menopause for 2 years. Will the emotionless ever go away? 😢
    Can high estrogen cause it?
It began with feelings of high estrogen.

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes, emotions can be affected by hormones changing. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to tell how long any symptoms may last as it is different for everyone, sorry.
Have you had the perimenopause diagnosed by your doctor, 35 is still quite early to start? Although it can happen for some women, symptoms could also be caused by other health issues.

Your videos are very helpful thank you….I’m in the peri menopause and I have lost a lot of weight over a stone I can’t seem to find any information as everyone talks about weight gain. Is weight loss normal?

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Miss Georgia
Although not as common as weight gain, this can happen to some women; falling hormones can affect your thyroid function, increasing metabolism. However, if the weight loss is sudden without any change in diet, it may be an idea to ask your doctor to test for an overactive thyroid.

I think my wife is going through perimenopause. Seems to have gradually detaching for couple years. First noticed pms was getting really bad 2 yrs ago. Then 10 mths ago said she wasn't in love anymore. Since then I've suggested she go if she has no feelings for me as I want her to be happy. Then she says she wants to see if feelings come back. I love her so much and our marriage was good before. Her parents went through identical scenario 20 years ago and her dad left. Does anyone relate? Are there any success stories after something like this? What is timeline I can expect? Am I deluding myself and has she simply fallen out of love?

I am sorry to hear that you are struggling with this, it's such a difficult situation. Unfortunatley, this is different for every woman so it's impossible to say how long it may last or whether things will resolve at some point, sorry. All we can suggest is to keep communications open and maybe ask a female friend or relative to have a chat with her to see if there is anything you can do to help.
      Wishing you well

Ive always liked being home. So that's not new. Im post menopausal and still have no desire to be intimate with my husband. We had wonderful loving years prior to menopause. Hes changed alot as well. Gets down right ornery, snaps at me, for no reason...im not irritable anymore. Im pretty easy going and considerate. But he is grumpy all day, then wants sex at bedtime. Sorry...i need to feel loved all day to get my brain thinking intamacy. Im fine with never having sex again! Nothing turns me on...not other men, not seeing any nude man. I do like hugs and kisses. But not like i used too!

I would say yes - going on almost 7 years of no physical intimacy, she won't even kiss me. Simply doesn't know why, she just won't. Trying my best to be supportive, but the medical community is SH*T for not providing the proper support for Women during this phase of their life. Too busy making money off the effects rather than help manage the transition that every Woman experiences.

From our experience, and feedback from our female followers, we find that it's always helpful to explain why and how these symptoms can occur in the first place (knowledge is power as they say) before going through the possible solutions
