Best memory I have in this game is getting a couple friends to use holopilot and holopilot nova the whole match. It felt like th, enemy team eventually gave up shooting pilots running in a straight line leading to some of the funniest kills.
The game is really more about the titans you Maine and which is where the real skill comes in , I mean don’t get me wrong the pilots too but the skill and fun along with the titan you use is really where it’s at . But I mean on those terms yea cloak mains are pretty gay there’s really no skill in using that ability which is why it’s mostly rats , bots and beginners that use him . I use A-wall and Maine skillful Tone that was very hard to use at first but once you know how to use him he’s very fun in a most skillful way and no I’m not a A-wall rat but an aggressive one instead. With titans Ronins pretty lame and doesn’t really take much skill to use .
In my own playtime, I had two different buddies who both wanted to 1v1 in a private match. The first fellow fell victim to a trap, where I placed my Holo stationary at a spawn point with a satchel charge under my foot. He describes it as "I walked up behind the Pilot, punched, saw the Pilot fizz out, looked down, and saw the satchel. I knew in that moment I was done." The second fellow was in a different match where we got stuck playing ring-around-the-rosie around a building. I ducked around a corner, stopped running, and held myself perfectly still. We were in a party and I heard him say "Oh yeah, that one's fake." as he proceed to run right past the actual me. Of course, I gunned him down once his back was to me and he proclaimed "I HATE HOLO!"
I don't use holo pilot because he looks ugly. I had no idea people considered him trash Edit 3 weeks later: Holo Pilot OP holy shit. The amount of times I've baited people is insane!
Die hard holo main here. Holo plays totally different from every other pilot to a massive degree and there's movement tech to make holos go and do what you want to that with every other tactical would be wasted movement. You can't quantify the value of being able to trick someone, especially when an ace holo makes use of it all the time. Man, I get massive value from holo in literally every game because there is just so much shit only us holo lads can do.
The tech is things like stopping for a second to pivot a holo around a corner or to slide activate a holo to send a more convincing copy. A sliding holo is actually a way more convincing decoy because a lot of good players usually slide or b-hop corners, plus they sit in a crouch after stopping movement, also something some players do for aim. Sending holograms at slight angles makes people lose their shit for some reason, and watch your radar. Also, holo is the only tactical that can dead ass rescue you from getting punching in the face with a back or sidestepped decoy. Plus, holo is the only tactical that becomes more powerful if you're holding a battery. Are you gonna ever pass up the chance to blast a sitting duck holding health? It's mind-blowing levels of reliable. I've ripped batteries and had titans waste cores on a decoy because they thought they'd get that sweet green. Holo life for life, there's too many little things to list. Taking a second to stop and walk to the side is a waste of time as anyone but a holo because the dude on the other side needs to choose what to shoot, and if you know your spacing, he'll not even see you deploy it. Which is also kind of what makes learning it tough. You can't always actually see how much work the holo does and you gotta pay attention for the opportunities it opens up. Little holopilot movements that no cloak, stim, grapple, or anything else would usually rationally do because to them, there just isn't a reason for it.
@@mr.weedish869Holo pilot holograms do whatever you’re doing in the moment you use it. Running? It’ll run in a straight line. Sliding? It’ll slide in the straight line. Wall-running? It’ll wall-run until it runs out of wall I believe

Sure, car is the bullet dispenser with zero recoil that allows you to just play point and click and get kills, but something like the L-Star for example is so much fun, you get to run in, hip firing and holding that trigger down, or if you want to shoot from afar, it gets balanced by the need to lead shots, which only makes far kills more satisfying.

My tip for Holo mains would be to pay attention to high traffic areas of the map. Do you know popular push routes or rollout routes for the start of games? Hang back a little and send your Holo through those chokepoints to distract your enemy and make them freak out. Just generally sending them into a room before you enter will reveal enemies 9 times out of ten, allowing you to strike from a blindspot. Also, tip number two: remember that your Holo can stand still. In certain situations, you can cause major confusion by placing a stationary Holo. For example, luring out snipers/campers to reveal their spot or make themselves known or pretend to be one yourself and bait greedy pilots into attempting an execution on what they assume is an unaware pilot looking down the scope of their sniper. (Though this is very situational and takes some more practice to recognise in games.)
one of my favorite things to do was to take wallhang, and put my holo on the wall. if it was done well, other pilots will shoot it nearly every time, giving enough time for a free kill
I briefly played with Holo Pilot in PvP, and I did pretty much notice that in the heat of battle most pilots will shoot at anything that moves. So yes I do think it has more use than it's given credit for. Later I switched to Pulse Blade since I can help my team even when I don't kill much (I have bad aim), and it lets me check whether or not there's enemies nearby (my situational awareness is also subpar). As for Frontier Defense, I do consider Holo Pilot a fully viable option, namely on maps with lots of infantry and ticks. Especially against EPG Stalkers that can one-shot you as soon as you turn the corner.
One thing that I do personally to keep gameplay fresh Run dice roll as your boost It makes fights so much more enjoyable I typically play grapple, but when I get something like phase rewind, hard cover, or holo pilot nova It’s something that you’re enemies are just not expecting when they take a corner and a grapple pilot phases away, sets up an a-wall, or you shoot it only for it to be a hologram It makes gameplay feel so much more fun when you have a pocket of tricks up your sleeve that you really have to think on your feet to use effectively
Fellow holo pilot here. Holo is by far the best perk. Throwing your holo into a doorway and IMMEDIATELY running in after almost guarantees you a dub on whoever is camping the room you're going into. 10/10
Stim is my go-to. I was a fanatic of the original and got early access to TF2 from Vince Zampella because of the amount of hours I put into the original. He said 'I almost don't want to give you an early access code'. The movement in the original was always my favourite part but they slowed BH down so much that the increased Stim speed was my favourite.
Something I wish they would have done for A Wall pilots is to make them work like the IMC soldiers who have a wall deployed in the single player campaign. It should remove your ability to sprint and jump. But the wall should move with you and slowly rotate around you whenever you turn. That would make the A Wall much better and discourage camping. As it is now, the only thing the A Wall is good as is deploying it when about to open fire on a titan. Then an A Wall Pilot can melt a titan.
Well said, I like that approach more. Do you think it'd make sense to reduce the size of the wall slightly if it becomes mobile? IIRC the wall that the campaign soldiers get is smaller than the one in multiplayer
@@waylonk2453, making it smaller definitely makes sense. But it would need to be made so that crouching would completely cover you, a lot like how Legion's Gun Shield covers him when crouched.
It’s either that or at least making it deploy instantly like Tone’s shield does. A-Wall is great when you do get to actually use it to protect yourself, but that relies on the enemy not being good enough to kill you sooner that it deploys, which is always an issue. It feels great when you get to use it and turn a fight around immediately after, especially with the off-meta guns, it lets you make cover literally anywhere, but the fact that it’s so slow and literally stationary for ages after is just annoying. They could also shorten its uptime when paired with this, heavily disincentivizing campaign and letting it cooldown faster
make it deploy instantly and mobile, but lower range. That would make the class much more fun while discouraging campers. A pilot is supposed to be mobile after all
Hey I was that guy that killed you at 7:00 i had seen your ronin video the day before and i was like i swear I've seen that name before, it's nice to see new videos coming out now that the game is back and your editing style is great 👍
Hi resident Phase main since 2016, I’m pretty sure I’m one of the main reasons we got nerfed so hard lmao I regularly used charge #1 to get into the middle of a team, wipe half of them out, and charge #2 to dip from a precarious position. It was an amazing feeling. Getting used to the nerfs took a while. I haven’t played in a couple years so I don’t know if the nerf was ever brought back some. Poor modern Phase players though, I hardly saw it in the beginning when it was op, I never saw it after the nerf.
i went into this video like "no way, its really situational", and after, i tried a game with it, and had MANY instances of bamboozling (and danced around a titan for a good while using the holos lol) i might be a holo pilot main now..
Do you think a recall mechanic on a wall, sorta like the engineers turrets in drg, would help it feel better. Combined with a larger throw distance it would reward you for predicting enemy positioning or let you try to pressure your enemies into not taking a fight, or otherwise bait their aggro away from you. You could counter balance it by making its destruction greatly increase the cool down period.
I started playing holo just to unlock the execution (which is dope) and had a surprisingly good time with it. Having two charges on an incredibly short cooldown feels a little ridiculous- in a good way! I don't run it terribly often, but it can be fun to use when trying out new weapons in order to deal with their learning curve. That split second of distraction can make a huge difference.
@@squishyhombre8188 I'm not that good at using it ether i but at the start of the game i just it Throw down to see where people come from and just in front of me or buildings and walls so i can get the jump on people and i think from it works better when you play with friends or use a mic sorry if this isn't much help

You can also use them like throwing knifes if you want to get the challenge and the pulse blade execuion, since it instakills anyone you throw them at. Aiming is hard tho, as its trajectory is different then grenades.
Saw the Ronin video a couple of hours ago then I see this pop up on my home page, I really like the editing style and think it suites the way you've done your videos. Good job and keep theese comin'
I hope in TF3 we can customize our pilots. Even if its still different classes but with different helmets and slight changes to gear, not just gender and color
The organization of the script, the editing, the conciseness of it all… it’s fucking beautiful. If this were a submission for a class presentation, I’d give it full marks.
Ive been a holopilot main for a really long time, so glad to see some appreciation for it. There's just nothing like the feeling of seeing some guy shoot my decoy while im like right next to him
I love playing Holo! Favorite thing to do is throw a Holo right as I'm speeding towards someone shooting at me. Most of the time, it catches their attention just long enough for me to get those few extra hits and win the encounter.
I pulled the best trick ever with my holo main. I placed a holo running into a wall, sent one out into the main corridor of complex, then tryed my best to mimic the first holos actions. The results was a wave of enemy pilots chasing after the other holo, only to get metaphorically backstabbed by me. Or the time i sent out a holo, then threw a sachel onto it. Some one tryed to add one more to his sliding kill count montage, only to turn into a red mist
I have a fun way of approaching the meta and it’s that I play whatever I think looks the coolest. My game choices are made purely for aesthetic so I ran only pulse knife because it was my favorite pilot design
Holo pilot + run and gun + ticks is my favorite. Sprint and shoot at an enemy distracted by the hologram, or leave a standing holo in a room with a tick.
i love the pulse blade is the most fun non movement based tactical because not only is it free wall hacks but also if you are a true gamer and hit another player with it it’s a one hit
Face is my favorite to whenever I’m in a situation where I start to take damage it’s pretty easy to tell that when someone has you locked it’s pretty hard to get them off your back just my face is so helpful
I was a stim main for a while before recently reverting to a pulse blade main, and I must say i kept using my blade whenever I spawned in and saying “remember, I don’t have stim”
Ok brother, let me tell you a story about a video I once saw on TH-cam (this exact one I'm commenting on). It singlehandedly convinced me that the holopilot from the videogame Titanfall 2 was a good option for combat, so a few hours later I was in my home, I opened Titanfall 2 to play, and I picked the Holopilot to see if my confidence was right. *Huge pause for dramatic effect* IT WAS! I NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY ENTIRE CAREER OF A TITANFALL PLAYER! You made me a holopilot main using 10 minutes from a TH-cam video and on a single match from the game, I truly felt like having my third or even fourth eye open up this day From the depths of my heart: THANK YOU!
I love tricking enemies with the hologram. One thing I do is when entering a building, I send a hologram in first to see if it is clear. Then when I enter, I drop one down somewhere obvious so that if an enemy comes in, they will shoot it. Then I will hear the sound when they deactivate so I will know someone is coming up behind me and I can kill them first. Plus I am always spamming holograms and that has saved me many a time. My favorite memory with the Holo Pilot is this time I sent a hologram down a street, then two enemy pilots dropped down behind it, so I dropped down behind them and managed to gun them down just as they finished off my hologram. I was giggling so hard at that.
Been using AWOL recently with the wingman and I've got to say it's a lot better than you give it credit for. It can be a total game changer in POI based game modes like bounty Hunt and and amped hardpoint. Choke points are your bread and butter. Plus it pairs well with the off meta guns like wingman and G2.
I have been a pulse blade main since the tect test way back in the day. I tend to be a team player and helping my teammates (who main stim/grapple 90% of my matches) secure kills to get their titans faster (or slower, idk)
I'm personally a Pulse Blade Pilot myself, but man, I did like watching this. Holo never seemed like my style but I have mad respect for the people who run it. Great video, by the way. Keep up the good work!
ive been using holopilot since i played titanfall, such an underrated tactical that makes me enjoy the game much more! glad its getting some recognition
I sorely wish the A-Wall functioned more like the grunt shields from campaign, allowing you to choose to shield front, back or sides depending on your movement input at the time, and removing the damage boost.
your holograms should give vision of enemies who shoot it similar to pulse blade, and with such a fast ttk your holos should honestly just have the health of a pilot (or just be immune to damage)
I use stim for the most part because it’s drippy, and because every game most of my team is grappling It’s also nice to chase people down for assassinations or to be a coward, or the opposite- but it really is all about the drip
Honestly ion threw me off the first time I used him, I couldnt adapt to him at all. I then got good and could recognize that all of his abilities are really good and just need to be used at appropriate time at appropriate measures.
Finally holo pilot is getting the respect it deserves. Holo pilot is my second most used tactical and it’s honestly up there with stim and grapple. And since A-wall is my most played I’m glad that you mentioned that A-wall only promotes camping if you’re bad. 90% of the time I’m just throwing it down to kill one enemy that’s hitting more shots then me. And then I leave it right after that. Great video.
Most people don't know that the holo pilot blocks one round from any gun (except AoE and snipers). I usually drop one when backing around a corner, just in case.
Went 32-1 with devotion and amped wall. For the most part you can hear people behind you but there is also plenty of walls to put your back against. Good amped wall users go to where your teammates are getting mowed then throw it down as their advancing toward you.
I love how your holo-pilot decision is just "fun" That's literally why I chose to main Grappling. I'm not good at it, but I grappling hooks in games, so I can't help but swing around every chance I get.
I used to be a grapple main, but I decided to try holo one day. I proudly main holopilot now. never going back. (though I still use grapple to get into some cheeky spots in some maps. I'm the tree man.)
Little late to the party but: I was a phase shift main for a very long time since the looks and the ability. Now I am a diehard holo main because of the looks (liked it from the beginning) and ability, nothing beats dualing another holo pilot with similar loadouts in what essentially is the closest you can get to a jojo fight scene. Plus, I don't usually use my pilot ability until when I actually need it, and holo gives a good distraction without giving a crutch, making it balanced imo. Holo got the looks, and if you got the skill, then be that cool high-tech mercenary.
As a holopilot main who’s actually good with it, I see this as an absolute win. Nothing like gunning down a buffering enemy after they thought they shot you and you just dissipate into blue mist.
Have been using cloak since I always feel like I use my tactical at bad moments and with cloak I can just use it when I spawn and run around until I find someone and also it’s very fun to torture titans by popping in and out of different positions melting their health
I did this funny thing where when Apex dropped Mirage became my favorite main, then he got a rework that made him _better_ that made me main him more alongside Revenant, then I came back to Titanfall 2 and my eyes *fucking opened* and I now main Holo Pilot because we love tricking people in this household. Shoutout to 2nd fav, A-Wall, for my anti-titan setups.

Back up battery is a must with holo. Us adrenaline rigged grapple baboons see green and go insane for it.
"When you hear the name Titanfall 2, what do you think most people associate it with?"
Titans.
"The answer is movement and speed!"
FUCK
As a phase main: now you see me now you don’t- welp now you see me again.
As a Mirage Main in Apex, good luck out there soldier 🫡
I use my holo to check to see if a enemy is camping a spot
where are my pulse blade boys at
Not one, but I’m looking for tips. I can never manage to play pulse well.
@@squishyhombre8188 I'm not that good at using it ether i but at the start of the game i just it Throw down to see where people come from and just in front of me or buildings and walls so i can get the jump on people and i think from it works better when you play with friends or use a mic sorry if this isn't much help
@@squishyhombre8188i honestly avoid it on attrition, it only manages to confuse me with all the AIs running around
@@squishyhombre8188im not great with pulse, but i have learned something
if your in a fight with a pilot or chasing one, toss a knife when you have a chance. the pressure given to the other person AND the fact that you can pin point them is very nice :)
@@squishyhombre8188Its really not that complicated lol. Just throw it on a wall in a high traffic area and get free wall hacks. You can also use them like throwing knifes if you want to get the challenge and the pulse blade execuion, since it instakills anyone you throw them at. Aiming is hard tho, as its trajectory is different then grenades.
Great video hope you can grow you channel so more people can see this.
you got me to try holo and now it's my favorite
2:15 BRO THATS LITERALLY ME I WAS TRYING TO LEVEL UP MY DEVOTION AND TONE BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Lmao, I would love to find myself in a yt video.
As a holo/cloak main I can relate to this video…
Saw the Ronin video a couple of hours ago then I see this pop up on my home page,
I really like the editing style and think it suites the way you've done your videos.
Good job and keep theese comin'
I hope in TF3 we can customize our pilots. Even if its still different classes but with different helmets and slight changes to gear, not just gender and color
I used to run a mobile flatline A wall loudout where I used the A wall mid fight. Often threw people off.
The organization of the script, the editing, the conciseness of it all… it’s fucking beautiful. If this were a submission for a class presentation, I’d give it full marks.
yipee another fellow holopilot frien!
me playing every other class than grapple and stim
Discovered you just the other day, glad to see another upload so soon! Great work!
Ive been a holopilot main for a really long time, so glad to see some appreciation for it. There's just nothing like the feeling of seeing some guy shoot my decoy while im like right next to him
Phase shift gang wya?
convene
We here fr
The tips on how to use the holograms actually helps, thanks!
I love playing Holo! Favorite thing to do is throw a Holo right as I'm speeding towards someone shooting at me. Most of the time, it catches their attention just long enough for me to get those few extra hits and win the encounter.
Around 6:33 when red was coming up, the area around the video started glowing red. I had no idea youtube videos could do that. Dope
"A-wall sucks."
Does he know?
THE FORBIDDEN TECHNIQUE
Not just AI, also player turrets and auto titans attack holo first. Smart pistol locks onto it as well.
Nice video my man! I like your voice
Amazing Video Quality
Glad to See such an Innovative Mech FPS get It’s Dues
A holo and Northstar main. Truly a man after my own heart
*Huge pause for dramatic effect*
IT WAS! I NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY ENTIRE CAREER OF A TITANFALL PLAYER!
You made me a holopilot main using 10 minutes from a TH-cam video and on a single match from the game, I truly felt like having my third or even fourth eye open up this day
From the depths of my heart: THANK YOU!
This was very well made! Great job on being a holo chad
Having an in game gaslight button is hilarious and I love it
Hysterical, a gaslight button. that has to be the funniest term I’ve heard.
i was still questioning until what you said at 7:28
that's a very good point
I have been a pulse blade main since the tect test way back in the day. I tend to be a team player and helping my teammates (who main stim/grapple 90% of my matches) secure kills to get their titans faster (or slower, idk)
I'm personally a Pulse Blade Pilot myself, but man, I did like watching this. Holo never seemed like my style but I have mad respect for the people who run it. Great video, by the way. Keep up the good work!
ive been using holopilot since i played titanfall, such an underrated tactical that makes me enjoy the game much more! glad its getting some recognition
6:28 twin traps and nuclear ejection, you absolute monster
I sorely wish the A-Wall functioned more like the grunt shields from campaign, allowing you to choose to shield front, back or sides depending on your movement input at the time, and removing the damage boost.
your holograms should give vision of enemies who shoot it similar to pulse blade, and with such a fast ttk your holos should honestly just have the health of a pilot (or just be immune to damage)
i love running wingman elite, holi pilots and Holi pilot nova, genuinely so funny
“you are ded, not big sooprize”
-FUNKe, also Heavy, also R3eech
this is a very good video thank you for enlightening me. As a sonar main myself I may have to to a bit of bamboozling
I use stim for the most part because it’s drippy, and because every game most of my team is grappling
It’s also nice to chase people down for assassinations or to be a coward, or the opposite- but it really is all about the drip
I use stim as a skedaddling tool mainly, but I sometimes use it with low profile to hop on very confused titans.
Like Ion, easy to use, high skill ceiling.
Honestly ion threw me off the first time I used him, I couldnt adapt to him at all. I then got good and could recognize that all of his abilities are really good and just need to be used at appropriate time at appropriate measures.
I used to be a grapple main but recently I've been maining holo and it has been so much fun
I just like to troll people by ways of embedding my pulseblade in their torso
Finally holo pilot is getting the respect it deserves. Holo pilot is my second most used tactical and it’s honestly up there with stim and grapple. And since A-wall is my most played I’m glad that you mentioned that A-wall only promotes camping if you’re bad. 90% of the time I’m just throwing it down to kill one enemy that’s hitting more shots then me. And then I leave it right after that. Great video.
Most people don't know that the holo pilot blocks one round from any gun (except AoE and snipers). I usually drop one when backing around a corner, just in case.
1:04 Bro helped off himself with that fire star ⭐️ 😂
I know this has nothing to do with the topic of the video but i'm just SO happy to see people make videos about this game again
Went 32-1 with devotion and amped wall. For the most part you can hear people behind you but there is also plenty of walls to put your back against. Good amped wall users go to where your teammates are getting mowed then throw it down as their advancing toward you.
as a holopilot main
yeah
I played this game when it first released but my favorite was holo simply cause my class wall called ‘Follow My Holo’ was so funny with executions
I play holo because CPT Lastimosa looked so badass in the Campaign intro.
pulse blade main be like, you trying to run not on my watch (spitfire in the hands)
You and iniquity should team up
I love how your holo-pilot decision is just "fun"
That's literally why I chose to main Grappling.
I'm not good at it, but I grappling hooks in games, so I can't help but swing around every chance I get.
Your so underrated, I can tell you put effort into your videos and their honestly funny
ive used a stationary holo to trick someone into trying to execute it, and then executing them. Funniest moment I’ve experienced on glitch.
I LOVE RUNNING STRAIGHT TOWARDS PILOTS WITH A FRAG IN HAND JACKED UP ON STIM
Finally someone who uses the underrated tactical ability to its fullest extent too
I go back and forth between pulse blade and phase tbh. Hell of a lot of fun
I used to be a grapple main, but I decided to try holo one day. I proudly main holopilot now. never going back. (though I still use grapple to get into some cheeky spots in some maps. I'm the tree man.)
Little late to the party but:
I was a phase shift main for a very long time since the looks and the ability.
As a pilot who uses every tactical
I highly appreciate this video
You open the great gate of Pandora is the good thing.
I’m so happy the community is playing this game again. Let’s go TitanFall 3!
If respawn makes it, I'll buy a copy for sixty bucks! Enjoying TF2 until then
I like A-Wall cause the armor and helmet looks really cool, simple as
I'm a proud grapple main for 2 reasons
1. confusion, trolling and minor tomfoolery
2. Works great against titans and can be a life saver
I always used fade and the sonar blade personally. Holo was fun to.
