I'm not into collecting like I used to be where I prefer collecting on what I'm going to play so I don't care enough about having a complete collection.

Full sets are fun, but it's not for me. Most consoles have 20% great-good games and 80% average-bad games. I don't value the latest, just like I don't collect all the books etc, just the best/rarest.
I collect Famicom, NES and SMS... most of my NES and SMS games were bought back when they were really cheap, I usually paid 1-3 dollars each, mostly loose carts. Because it was so cheap I just bought everything I could find. But when collecting for Famicom I only get games I actually enjoy, because I don't get any enjoyment out of having games that are terrible, unless it's the fun kind of terrible.
Complete set nowadays seems to be a really expensive venture, I'd never go for it, even with a smaller library like the UK only. Punch Out!! is slower in PAL, that's why I like the Famicom, to play the games as they were intended at the correct speed. And when it comes to the NES mini that emulator is kind of terrible, I don't know what delay it has but enough so you can miss jumps in Super Mario so no way you can beat Tyson on that system. It's no input delay in the controllers though, they still have the downside of having different rubber from a real controller so they don¨t feel as good.
If not needing the box, Famicom is much cheaper and more feasible these days it seems... Even so the only full collection I could manage without trying very hard or looking online is WonderSwan.
My opinion on this is…”No it’s not worth it”. That being said I am a guy going for a full NTSC NES set. I have been slowly going for a set over the past dozen years or so. 😂 The reason I say it’s not though is because if you just want to experience the library. Emulation is the way to go…unless you are a complete purist. The nostalgia for the system has been the driving factor for me to chase it. The 2nd reason is strictly the cost. Some of the games go for thousands of dollars and Stadium Events goes for over 10k. (Doubtful I will ever get that one) 🤷♂️ and if you are going for CIB…🤯 Finally space can be an issue for some folks for any full set. I am at 589/677 for the set and let me tell you they take up the biggest part of the game shelves. Cool video man. 🤙🏻
I would never entertain the idea of a full NTSC set, my god the thought scares me lol. Fortunately the UK PAL set is a lot smaller.
I'd love all the games I had as a kid in box that's it. I have half them so far in box.
I stoped collecting for the NES , I actually have all the games I wanted to have and being honest the NES library have a lot of bad games, I started collecting for it because it was the first console I got in the late 80s so I didn’t care if games were good or bad I just collected for nostalgic reasons but then I stopped buying games just for the sake of having more nes games but getting the good ones , the same for the N64 the library is small but the good games are a few, I neglected my snes collection for some time and that’s the one am trying to get more games for since the snes library is the best of the 3 Nintendo cartridge home console quality/quantity and variety wise

Same here. SNES was the generation I had the fewest games for because I was young and my parents said "No, we just bought you an NES in 1988, so why would we buy you a SNES in 1992 or 1993?" I eventually convinced them to buy me one in 1994. By the time 1996 came around, I had a job and was able to buy myself an N64 in early 1997, so I jumped into that generation pretty early.

Not worth it at all. Only having copies of what you had growing up and a small handful of any you didn't have or know about that look fun to play is worth it.
