I love this overture, and this band played it very well. I participated in a concert at the Meyerson in Dallas where we played this among other Alfred Redd pieces.
First off props to them on this piece. It’s stupid hard and the sound amazing. Secondly though, anybody else notice the human head on a spike in the middle of the trumpet section?
Yes, this is the "D.C. Air Force Band" It's a "select" band. It used to be if passed your audition for this band you started out at E-6. I don't know how it really works now.
Call a retail print music dealer and order the part only. It might cost you 4 or 5 bucks. J.W.Pepper is probably the largest in the country, but many metropolitan areas have a music dealer known to be good at print.
Loves this piece. We played it in high school. Was very fortunate to have such a great musical program.
Playing this for our softmore UIL program. It’s my favorite full concert piece I’ve ever played, the French horn part is so fun!

Why didn’t the horns play the horn solo?
Great playing, everyone!
Thank you!
So many high ranked members. Just curious if Air Force also has other bands with just lower ranked individuals?

Does anyone here know where I can find just the horn part without paying for the entire score?
