@@ElusivEnigma Not sure if there any financial strategy to own a vehicle. One buy it to have pleasure driving it. It usually don’t make sense to buy a niche vehicle like this. Minus all the possibilities of appreciation in value. I hand a chance to buy a facelift NSX in the early 2000s. If I did, I would had driven this car for free and sell it for the same MSRP I paid for years back and still enjoyed the car. I would say people should buy what they can afford and also be handy to know how to fix them. I figure in my lifetime, it be hard to buy and own exotics. Only way is to buy out older ones and know how to fix them for cheap. R8 still on my list of cars I want to own a bit and drive it around for a bit.
to be 100% honest, the R8 went from a car I hated, to a car I love! Whats crazy is all they did were minor changes, and that was enough. Like the back fro example. It seem wider, more rectangular, and just perfect now. The front additions, make it so much better too. All these little add ons, upgrades, and it goes from "meh" to "sexy"
Tbh nothing will ever beat the original design for the 1st R8. It was way more round but i loved it. Now the newer R8 are chiseled and soooo many more lines. Still looks good but that 1st generation R8 is my favortie
I love the OG R8 Design, More reliable too then the newer ones and you can easily pick one up with around 40-50K on the clock for around the £30,000 mark now! (In the UK that is)
2019 is the first time Audi stated the V10 would finish! Now 3 years later we are still seeing them! It would not surprise me if Audi kept doing just the V10 models until 2025 at latest! And thank you support means a lot!
R8 used to be obtainable to the working man, just a little harder to get to than the GTR. Now its 158 just for the shell and by the time you're done being "modest" with a spec its over 200k.
Unfortunately it’s a very popular sports car! So I guess Audi can do that now! But it wasn’t far off when it was brand new in 2008 as it was around £106,000 mark for the manual NEW!
I wish they would just make it hybrid instead. Let the V10 live on for a few more years. Detune it for fuel economy and emissions if they need but don't kill it. For example: detune the engine to 550hp, give it an electric starter/torque fill motor on the crank giving an extra 50hp or so. Powering rear wheels only. Then on the front wheels have an extra 150-200hp of electric motors for AWD. With the V10 only powering rear wheels you get less drivetrain losses meaning better efficiency for the V10 and less emissions.
I agree, I would love for Audi to make two versions - full V10 and EV model! As I think a lot more people would be interested in that for sure! Personally I would go full V10 for the sound - but I do know a lot of car enthusiast who would be interested! How about you?
I’d rather have a tt rs it’s like half the price stage 2 your in super car territory plus you get back seats that you can use lol and let’s be real easier and cheaper to maintain but if you got money to blow and you don’t care about your pockets get the r8

As for maintenance if you stage 2 a TTRs it will be as expensive to maintain if not more since it’s modified and tuned, so different upkeep is needed to make sure it doesn’t “blow up” lol. With an R8, a basic tune, DP and Charge Pipe and your all set to go. At the end of the day you don’t need a 1000hp street legal car. An R8 is max 602hp, with all small mods your looking at close to 710-720hp. That’s quite enough lmao.

The honeycomb grills on the side front and back are disappointing and common everywhere now. The old segments or whatever it's called were much more refined, authentic, characteristic and unique. This is just a toned down Lambo, same designers I bet.
I agree from seeing the R8 for the first time in Iron Man back in 2008, that's when I feel all hard cover R8 fans found there love for the R8, now with all these changes I would take a 2008-2012 R8 over the new ones any day - what do you think?

You make some very good points however it’s not as long / wide as most super cars, someone over 6ft6 has enough space to fit in it and I do enjoy how the interior is simple and easy to use which doesn’t mean it’s small. If your going shopping yes there’s no cargo space but mostly all super cars don’t have very big cargo storage space. If your a daily commuter for work, its comfy and easy to drive plus it’s one of the most economical V10’s at the moment!
Huracan is made from Audi , you can say is Audi children, i think Gallardo was last pure Lambo , rest are all Audi and R8 is also daily car , you can live with this daily, with Huracan you can’t

Yea go buy an EV…..that uses coal to power the charging station needed to charge the car lol. Look at the average miles an R8 is driven per year around the world, then look and see how many times a similarly priced EV or hybrid like a Taycan gets driven and thus charged overnight and I guarantee you the EV emits more carbon than the R8 yearly.

My guys name is Mr porsche which is euro and probably the most reliable car brand besides Honda I’m sorry buddy but the r8 v10 is almost indestructible sheepey makes 1200whp with stock motor stock trans reliably rs3 makes 800-1200 wheel with just upgraded rods and pistons sorry but you have 0 clue what you’re talking about yes there are unreliable cars no doubt but to say not reliable at all you’re out of pocket

Design is amazing, V8 is long gone, the V10 is one of the best engines ever made, shares not a single part to the tt, the huracan is made on its plattform, L + Ratio + youre poor + cry + your mom
Never considered the R8. It’s like the middle of the road in all categories for me. Looks… we’re unique but not the coolest or prettiest offered in any year. Nearly all the $200k+ cars out there look better than this save for the McLarens. Performance - even now with 611hp, it’s lower powered and 0-60mph and 1/4mi are slower than comparable supercars. I’d take a 911 Turbo S or Lambo Huracan over this any day. Luxurious beds - I’d rather a Bentley or Aston. I know the R8 is less expensive than some of the cars I named but when you get near $200k for a car, it’s not a far cry anymore.

Audi R8 is not an everyday super car. It’s too small on the interior to use everyday. The left footwell isn’t big enough
You make some very good points however it’s not as long / wide as most super cars, someone over 6ft6 has enough space to fit in it and I do enjoy how the interior is simple and easy to use which doesn’t mean it’s small.
