Best times of my life were zipping around Iraq in a black hawk. Dropping on riverine islands and other tough to reach spots for cache searches. Was like a culmination of everything. Also being able to speak to a man circling in a Kiowa who was sitting on pods of hydra rockets made you feel like what you were doing at that moment was the most critical thing going on in the battle space. Crazy times.

My flight warrant packet got denied because I have two herniated disks in my lower back. Yeah I cried for a few minutes sense I love aviation but now I'm a Chaplain recruiter and ill see how this goes. Happy for you all who get to fly!!
Sir I have specific questions about becoming an aviator. I personal don’t care about what I fly. I just want to be a pilot in green to gold. I still have yet to get there. I’ll have my associates next year. Next I plan on trying to go aviation but I want to stay active and yet try to garentee me flying. I know warrant is so much better of an option but I want to commission. I saw your video saying to go reserve or national guard so you don’t have to be apart of the OML. However can you switch back over to active and just wait a couple years and play the wait game? Also if you are active or reserve do you get paid the same as if you were active as an aviator? I currently have 9 years in the army as a 91B and want to make a change. I don’t care about the 10 year ADSO either cause I want to do 20 years or so anyways. Can you please provide some guidance on that sir? Thank you for your time.
We trained many Afghans on Russian and American equipment and airframes. Remember the equipment we left behind was part of the Status Agreement/ Lease to support the Afghan military. The failure of the Afghan government wasn’t a US failure it was the Afghan military not having the courage to fight for their freedom. A concern veterans that supported the War. The Ukraine military men are warrior’s vs the Afghan men are not. 🇺🇸
No, its not unusual. Commissioned officers lead aviation units and they must be proficient in operating their unit's aircraft. The commissioned officers manage training, administration, maintenance, personnel, etc. The warrant officers main job is to fly...so they become very proficient at it and are better skilled and more knowledgable pilots than their commisioned counterparts.
So you said you wait for the engine to cool to operating temp but then as soon as you start your flight wouldnt start overheating please explain this and i can smell bs a mile a way so dont anyone try to give some dumb explanation
You motor the starter to ensure the TGT is below the safe ignition temperature so you don't have a hot start. Once the start sequence is completed, TGT is stabilized well within tolerance
assuming that you had been an army pilot for 11 years five months and 23 days i'd assume you have lived this for that amount of time so obviously it's boring.
"Always look back, to see if the helicopter is still there." LOL
Same thing why my vehicle 😂
Same I do to my car lmao
😂😂
Helicopters are the coolest machines ever invented 👊🏿
Agreed, but I would never get on one, nor would I on hot air balloon. I don't feel comfortable with flying things that have no gliding capability

I’m a corporate pilot and I didn’t know army helicopter uses Signature FBO, too. Kudos to your video and thank you for your service.

This is a cool video, I hope the army continues to let you do these video documentaries.

Thank you for your service. Excellent v-log. Are those T700 engines?
Looks like not much has changed since I left it all behind in 1989. Dustoff!
That's the cleanest Blackhawk ever. Great paint no grease or oil stains must be kept by civilians.

Omg, it feels so amazing to piloting it, wish į be a Pilot right now And fly right now

Awesome video. Would be just a little bit cooler if it was an Apache! Fly safe!
Siz birde Türk Pilotlarını görün Maşaallah…..👍🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷♥️♥️♥️🌙🌙🌙
Great video. Maybe you will get some future pilots inspired the black hawk is awsome.
how do you think that parking job is? gotta flex; let everybody know when you put that tail wheel on the yellow.
I remember that risk assessment, what a mess. It takes a month to learn how to fill it out.
Much respect to you. Is the training still as rough as Robert Mason wrote in "Chickenhawk"?
Awesome Soldiers Combat ready🤗🤗🤗
Awesome. Why aren’t you sitting at the table with others during AAR since you’re the pilot?
Is this training like flight school training? Or unit training? Do you fly everyday?
Best quote "look back at it if it still there"😂
My man... I like your rig better than my R22... good stuff
Remember, switching to secondary weapon is always faster than refueling your helicopter

Do you work with 15 tangos?
How long did it take to become a helicopter pilot? (First time viewer, sure you covered this in other videos.)
Good stuff
Very mature group.....not like the ones some people are used to.

If you're Guard then you will already know what airframe you're flying
Retired Army Blackhawk and C12 IP, be safe out there. If you end up flying civilian you will find you did the most badass stuff in the Army.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Member when we gave the taliban those helos?
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Do you have to have a 4 year degree?
How did the Afghanistan people fly those helicopters, that BIDUM left them ???? They look very complicated to operate...👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸
They crashed them alot though. We could have brought everything back but thanks to sniffy joe, we didnt.

Is it unusual for a commissioned officer to be an Army helicopter pilot?
Aren't most helicopter pilots warrant officers?

@@vectors2final36 Interesting. Thank you for the insight!
@@vectors2final36not necessarily... You have alotta majors with master aviator pins that are pretty handy in a chopper

How about a video in IMC weather with 20 to 30 knot winds. Not VFR weather .
I’ve seen videos of coast guard in Alaska going out to a sinking ship in 50 to 60 knot winds getting crew. Do you think you can do that I doubt it.
Is it in Africa? I didn't know they have Pilots
