I love this show.. it has stood the test of time. I admire also how Andy, Don Knotts, and Ron Howard stayed connected the rest of their lives.. Gooood People xxXX
Me and my 10 year old son have been watching Andy since he was 6 and he wants to watch it at least 3 days a week still. All of my boys from 10 to 30 years old have grown up on Andy. Greatest show ever

I heard that Andy sometimes got so tickled with Don while they were doing a sketch that he would run off laughing. Said it was the best time of his life. Hard to believe they have passed. I still watch on TVLand. Takes me back to a safer time.
The Andy Griffith Show is my favorite show in the whole world I watch it every day I'm a born-again Christian and I enjoy the good moral standards that the show has God bless you all Jesus Christ as Lord and I know Andy Griffith

@Slomofogo sorry. I just have had alot of static and altercations in my lifetime because I'm a half breed. So it's a raw nerve with me about the race thing. Ya work with what God gave ya! That's all you can do.
What I'd give to have this kind of great entertainment today. It's hard to imagine how mankind was so much smarter and creative 60 years ago than we are today. No matter what it was...from music, to television, to movies, to mankind itself....the world was 1,000% better back then.
One of my favorites is when Barney is sleeping under the covers, which are tucked into one side of the bed, so Andy pulls the other side down, lifts the bed sligthly, and slides the sheet under the bed legs, locking Barney in on both sides of the sheets. He then goes to the door to wake Barney up, who spends about a minute or so trying to kick and feel his way out of the bed sheets.
I read where Andy was laughing for real in this scene. He tried to hide his mouth - which directors usually don't like - - but they kept the scene as is. Great comedy. Wonderful show. Wish we could see something close to this on TV today.
"You are a clown..you are. Why don't you put a red light on your nose and go into the circus"? 😄😄😄 I love Barbeys comebacks....I will have to remember this one, for sure !!😄😄
This show is one of those classics, kinda like Little House on the Prairie. They still show The Andy Griffith Show everyday on two different channels. Four episodes on one channel, and three on the other. It will always be on the air as long as there is tv.
When I was a kid I thought there really was a Mayberry somewhere and how great it would have been to live there!! This has to be one of the greatest shows ever made. Each episode gave a little lesson to live by. You won’t see that’s these days!!
Love Andy Griffith shows. I can't even count how many times I have seen each show! True television comedy! Don Knott's was hilarious and loved how Andy played the straight guy 👍😁🤣

@@jamesbumbalough1826 Loved Don Knotts, hated his Mr. Furley. Just seemed like forced acting, as opposed to Fife and most every other character he played.
When this show first aired, Andy was the laugh generator. But, when he realized that Don was getting all of the laughs, he graciously took the part of the straight man and Barney became the breakout character. When Knott's career took him into movies, Andy would drive him to the movie set after they were done filming an episode.
I feel like Andy still was able to be funny, but his character was usually more funny on purpose like pulling pranks while Don’s character was more funny on accident

That’s one thing about this show that I loved so much, is that’s exactly the kind of thing that might happen in a small town sheriff’s office or police station; goofing around on each other on a slow day! 😆
I love all of these shows. They are real nice. They even make me laugh sometimes. I even like it when barney catches the crook and andy says how did you do it? Then. Barney says to andy, i swallowed my gum.
You can just imagine that Andy did this type of stuff to Barn back in school. I love the youthful hijinks between the two best friends. But one thing...does Barney wear his shoes without socks?!
In the "Barney and The Choir" episode you'll notice that in the scene when & where Andy "coaches" Barney to "sing" solo the couple standing behind Andy & Barney couldn't keep straight faces either. I believe their chuckles were truly authentic & they were NOT acting.
This is from the episode "The Clubmen" (season 2). Barney gets all worked up over their efforts to join an exclusive club. The scene where Barney is expecting a phone call from the club is just hilarious.
If Andy had never mentioned on wanting to end the series by the 5th season, Don Knotts would have stayed on throughout the 8th season, but thought that the show was gonna end, he didn't resigned his contract and end up pursuing in making movies which every single of his movies was a big smash .
