I have a Brewster Coach Body Book from 1934 and this is listed as a 5 passenger limousine. Not many were sold, so here's a great restoration project that will be worth very much.

These days, trend is to keep rare finds like this original. Although, reupholstering front seat would be a good idea. Heart shaped grill is gorgeous! Like the front bumpers too.

"Worth" is subjective and depends on demand at selling time. Also consider low production numbers and means poor parts availability. (= expensive repairs too)
That was a cool break down of the history and to keep something like that in original condition for so long. That car needs to be put in a museum for everyone to see a prime example how they built car's.

What a rare and exceptional find! The outer body looks great. That heart shaped grill is really eye catching. It is breath taking to see the emergence of a onetime great car to our eyes of the 21st. century. I wish I could see it restored. It is a beauty!

Brewster was an old line custom body maker in New York that began building carriages in the 1840s. Their customer base was wealthy New Yorkers like the Vanderbilts and Astors. The quality of their hand built bodies was second to none. Most of their bodies were installed on Packard, Cadillac, Pierce Arrow or Duesenberg chassis. In the 1930s they offered a small limousine for city use, smaller and handier than the giant bus like limousines. These small limousines were built on Ford chassis and that is what we see in this video.
Notice how the doors open and shut with a perfect "thunk" after 90 years. That is one quality body.
They used to make bodies for Rolls Royce as well. When Brewster used Ford running gear for their own cars, RR was going to stop using them but eventually bought them out.
I know from and old book I have that some Brewsters used Buick running gear.
The art deco styling of cars from the 30s is to die for. They were art as well as transportation.
I have only seen one of these in an old movie. And on 65 years of living, never seen one since. This is indeed a very very rare car. I think it should be carefully restored. It's actually a museum piece.

This is a car that you get running/moving and clean up the exterior to make it presentable for others to see at Monterey/Amelia Island Concours in "as is" condition. Brewster was also a body builder similar to MullinerPark Ward, so the chassis/engine/drivetrain may be of Ford origins........
I knew what it was before you posted the name "Brewster". There were only a few made and they were built in the tradition of the frame and motor being provided by the car company and the body built by a coach builder.

Rod and Custom mag had a really good article on the Brewsters back around 1970. The Writing on the glove box door looks like oil change intervals. So the odo reading might be the actual mileage.
There are some vids here on YT showing New york in the 30's and a pair of towncars (taxi hire) drive past in the back ground which look very similar.

1934 Ford Brewster Town Car. Unique front end for sure.
Besides the wing shaped front fender I believe the three chrome bar bumper represent art deco wings of the period. See the Reich Eagle wings made from "bars" at the 1933 Nuremberg Rally. With front fenders shaped like that there must have been a lot of wind resistance and lift at high speed. A machine worth saving.

I love the grille design on these rare cars, but I can never get past the sort of "skirt-in-the-air" look of the front fenders where you see all the front-end linkage. Beautiful machine though. The reason they made the dashes so symmetrical at this time is because it made it easy to convert the import cars to right-hand drive.

I've seen magazine articles on those cars but not an actual one. Never seen such delaminated glass before. That's almost a work of art in itself. Those front fenders are a little too wild for me but it could be fun to try and trace the original owner or her family. And what about that Model A Sport Coupe in the background? Could it be for sale?
I saw one of these in a garage in Westfield mass back in the late 70s garage had a tree growing in front of so could not get car out I caught glimps stopped and talked to owner. No interest in selling. Later went by garage and car gone. At time I had a model a so knew what the Brewster was. Every time I drive by where that garage was I think of that car

I saw an old movie of New York City traffic some time ago & there were a few of these Brewster's in it that were taxi's. I didn't know what they were at the time & it took some digging to find out. The front of these are certainly WTF!
What you probably saw were Checker Cabs. There was a period around WWII when they had similar front fenders and a very distinctive grille.

I'd replace the glass with new ones , keep one and auction off the old glass as works of art. How many people have an original piece of a Brewster to hang up ? Or show this car just as is . Beautiful car , no need to restore much just clean up and show this way.

According to Wikipedia, the Brewster company had been a leading producer of fine coach work for Rolls Royces and high end French automobiles. But it started making it's own autos when the First World War cut off a reliable supply of European models. But like manufacturers of other premium automobiles, the Great Depression hit Brewster hard. To try to keep the company afloat, Brewster bought 135 1934 Ford V8 Chassis and built the distinctive Brewster coach work on top of them. The Brewster Ford's were initially a sales hit, but the success was short lived. Some of it's former customers though it was a sacrilege to put fine Brewster coach work on a Ford chassis. Eventually Brewster, which had been building fine carriages and coaches for the nation's elite since 1810, was forced to file for bankruptcy in July 1935.
Worth a great deal of money as is - with a proper restoration you could retire on the proceeds

I've seen an almost identical Ford car with a similar grille and made by Brewster. I recall that it was made for W.C. Fields.
There is a Brewster Limo at the Edison Home in Fort Myers FL. It was Edison's sons' while he was governor of New Jersey.

Your right it does look like a newer Ford engine maybe a 37? A 34 Ford engine would have the water pumps and radiator hoses at the top front of the heads.
Hey guys, I think that number in the glove box lid is inverted. To me, it looks more like either 9067 or S067.
would have been worth a walk through the garage to see if the roof section is still there. A new one could be fabricated but OEM is always best.
Don't know much about US number / licence plates, but the ones on it seem to be much newer than the car. So was car registered and on the road up to thec1980s or 90s ? Any feedback.....

I've seen that 34 FORD style before,for the life of me I can't remember where but it's a "body by Brewster".
The Brewster was a kind of Ford--basic bodyh and frame/drive train to the Brewster company for the custom body work. Rare and beautiful!

If im not mistaken there's a brewster in at Gilmore's car museum near Kalamazoo Michigan the largest privately owned car museum in north America

Prime example of a collapsing economy. People pulling out their treasures from the dust and corrosion to grab the money . I hope that the fellow gets a good price for his car. It's sad it was stored in such a terrible manner.
The 24 stud engines were used late '38 on up. Your engine looks like it has the "diver's helmet" style distributor used up thru 1941 but the 59A B heads were used from '46-'48. The 59AB heads were sometimes used on earlier blocks in replacement rebuilds. Not sure what you really have there.

You could and should have changed the tire before moving it and damaging the rim.
Rolling it the fifty feet to get it outside wouldn't've done any harm at all.
You read the number in the glovebox wrong. It’s upside down. It’s 9067
