Hi Mate, I'm guessing you've seen this vid, but just in case you haven't, its about the legendary Volvo Engine and Volvo's attitude to engineering enjoy th-cam.com/video/rzss5Z-ozz0/w-d-xo.html
I'm a Volvo guy but I cannot believe you found this car in Ohio save it from the crusher and it turned out to be an amazing shape and what a great job of detailing. Mike you got a gem.
That car is pristine, like no rust, dents, scratches, interior is flawless. That car used to be someone’s pride and joy and was well maintained before it was abandoned. Like no way a car that age stays in such good shape that it can clean up that well!
Volvo is the only brand in the world that has had multiple owners/cars turn the clock to zero. A million km (or miles). Yes, maintenance is key, but the way it was built adds to the possibility of it happening in the first place. I don't do very much maintenance on my Volvo, but I managed to get it to over 400k already. The chassis is very very sturdy. I do hope to find a 740 or 440 one day (for a reasonable price) for myself.

@@patrickd9551 There are only 10 100% confirmed and publicly known million mile plus Volvos in the world that I can find, and yes Im sure there are many many more that just arent widely known, but the same exact thing can be said about classic Mercedes which are also known for their tank like build quality and bullet proof reliability, hence why they are very common to find being used as taxis and the like in many Middle Eastern, African and Eastern European countries even to this day. I also already agreed that yes Volvos arguably are more likely to reach that number than any other brand so I'm not discrediting Volvo in any way, they are extremely well built and reliable cars, especially the old ones, I mean shoot I have seen many videos of Volvos that were abandoned for years starting right up with just some fresh gas and a new battery, insanely impressive stuff, but what you claimed was just verifiably wrong And no its not obvious that you meant dozens or hundreds of cars by just saying multiple, it is very reasonable to assume by multiple you meant more than one since that is the literal definition of multiple. I had a 1992 740. Absolute horror story. Left rear shock fell of on the way home from the dealer. Gouged a trail all the way home. Fuel pumps failing on the highway. Wiring harness went. Shifter detention pin broke , had to drive to dealer with thumb jammed down in it. Leaked like a sieve. Windshield cracked from body stress three times. steering column had issues. Drivers seat had to be replaced. Windshield wiper arm flew off in a snowstorm. Just wouldn't start several times, had to leave my family at a bowling alley and walk home in a snowstorm to get a reliable car. That's was all in six months. Dealer was a v complete shit show. Took a big loss and traded it in for an 1992 Acura Integra GS, one of the most reliable cars I've ever owned. Never again would I touch a Volvo.
a 740 was my first car some 20+ years ago. Since then I added an 850, 940 and a S60. Never sold one, though I also never got around to get a wagon. They are insanely well built and nice to work on. The redblock engines are legends in their own right. I am totally with Mike on this one and quite frankly surprised no other team member shared his level of appreciation for this amazing car. I hope he still drives it!
My 90 740 took 2 95 mph hits and is still standing the yko that t boned it 3 yrs ago was totaled up to the windshield and rolled down the hill with what was left of their yukon xl and witness said they pushed it into a 12 foot fence
Probably one of the best videos from y'all that we have seen yet! Spreading kindness is amazing and contagious! Keep representing CLE with your amazing light!!
Super job on the Volvo guys, you never cease to amaze me with your work ethics, I am a super fan, 73 year old ex master technician 50 years exp. keep em coming💯💯
Rare 16 valve engine aswell, my family owns 7 Volvo's and they are super reliable and massively fun, those 16 valve engines are pretty strong and can handle a lot of abuse before you need to do something with it, great find and happy it was saved instead of being crushed ^^
16 valve is rare indeed, but not as much as the turbo 16 valve....which Is almost impossible to find (at least in my country)....to think that we had a 740 turbo 16 valve and gave it away for nothing (now you can have one for 20k euros, I have no idea in the US) makes me a bit upset
Good people do good, make a difference in this world!! Congratulations to the WD team, congratulations to the new member, may the team grow and bring great satisfaction to customers and especially those who love classics!! Hugs to everyone from Brazil!!
Oh, this car looks amazing after you finished with her, that paint just shines! And the fact that it is so straight is incredible. Can't say that about a lot 33 yr old cars these days, or even the newer ones. You know the old saying-they don't make 'em like they used to. Good job!

Wow, what a find! Once upon a time these Volvos were everywhere in North America. Really good wagons in their day along with the sedans. That the 740 was in such good overall condition is a credit to its former owner. Enjoy Mike and yes, it would draw a crowd at a car show even parked next to a high-end sports car.
It’s crazy how big of a Volvo following there is now, especially the older models, wagons included. Great save and awesome gesture of giving it to someone who really appreciates it. My dream would be to find a 1978 Subaru station wagon because that is the first vehicle I learn to drive with a manual transmission all by myself at age 10 out on a farm.
Wagons are a real gap in the car buying assortment these days. Not everyone wants an SUV or even a crossover vehicle. I'd be perfectly happy with a modern station wagon as my family car if someone would make one for under $60K.
Very cool to see someone appreciate a blast from the past! My dream would be is to find a 1974 Ford Pinto. It’s the first car my grandfather bought when he arrived from Rio de Janeiro Brazil to Corona CA. The other car is a 1974 Ford Fairmont was my dads when we arrived in 1978 from Brazil. I was 5 years old and now I’m almost 50. I’m a hospice nurse so I hear stories of old cars all the time. This is my story. :-) Awww, I would be thrilled to see one again! Good times!
You guys rock! Mike is such a great addition to the team. I know you blew his mind when you told him the Volvo was now his. I look forward to your future adventures together.
87 Camaro. It was my first car my mom gave me and she unfortunately passed away in 2020 😢 Always love the transformations you guys do! Thank You! Eddie
My grandparents had a 1996 Volvo 850 for I think over 15 years....they gave it to me and I was absolutely in love with that car. Sadly living in NYC there was no parking at my job so all I ended up doing was moving it from one side of the street to the other for alt side parking, and eventually had to give it up but not a day goes by when I don't miss that car and desperately wish I still had it 😢
You guys are singlehandedly turning me into a car guy. I just joined a car club at my college and Im getting into detailing now. Gonna get my dad's 2014 Corolla lookin fine!
I just discovered your page and I love it so much. You seem like awesome guys and miracle workers as to how you can give new life to these cars. So great that you gave this car to Mike. The gift of giving is the best!
Wow, I am astonished that you all brought that Volvo back to life it seems like 1990. I was pretty old enough to have owned a 1985 760 Turbo sedan same color when I resided in Monterey California during that time. They were around $25K-$35K back then lots of money during that time. Thank you for sharing guys. My Best, M.L.

Great video guys! It might need a lot of work for sure, but other than that it’s difficult for me to understand how and why this 740 got abandoned for it to be crushed. Unimaginable!
I stumbled across your video because I have been searching for Volvo 240 wagons and 840 resgons recently on TH-cam (going through a mini mid-life crisis where I want a 1980s wagon of some sort) and .... three hours later I am still watching your series of videos. I saw an Ohio plate on the Volvo and you referenced The MetroParks when you released the mouse in another video, so I looked up your business and was pleasantly surprised to see your business is located just 5 minutes from the house I lived in Parma Heights before I moved to North Carolina. I went to VF back in the day and they had a great automotive program. I am hoping you guys are local as well. Best of luck and much future success. Your videos are great!
What a great car. Love the volvo's of the 80's and early 90's. They still look good and are easy and cheap to work on and keep them on the road. Great job guys. Love the video.
Way to go on the detail, guys. Welcome to the team, Mike. I used to have a 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix. It would be great to see you guys detail one of those. Thanks for the videos.

Had a ‘93 940 wagon that I intended to drive until I died. Had to really plan merging with a 4 cylinder engine moving a 4,000 lb. car! It was totaled by a grandma trying to pass between me and a telephone pole on Rt 9 outside Avalon, NJ after I had put ~$2,700 into new shocks, struts and tires. Insurance gave me $3,300 for it. I still miss it more than 20 years later.
Happy to see that you really took care of your friend! Congratulations Mike! Get some tint on those windows bro! You also asked about a car that we would want... I had a Dodge Shadow ES that was incredible. It was the most comfortable car I've ever driven. Red with black interior and the turbo bump on the hood. It wasn't the fastest car I've owned but I loved that little car because it was comfortable! Love your videos guys! Keep them coming!
Love the channel, guys, and I like the changes you made recently. Including more of yourself adds personality to the process and trying to resurrect a non runner is always fun. If I could have any car, I'd take the 260 in a heartbeat. I would be there tomorrow to get it. I'm a long time Z lover and and like to restore it and share it with my sons.
Nice find, looks superb in the end. Very nice 16 vales engine, leather, a/c, all the regular high end stuff, and it even have the OEM radio! Just note they the engine requires a bit of attention, the 16v flavor of the redblock engine is more fragile than older designs, especially on the timing belt, water pump, pulleys (one is made of plastic and break, running the vales...). The rest is rock solid.
loved this video, growing up a volvo lover thanks to my amazing father has shown me the true appreciation for these beautys. when i tell you everyone in my family has one i mean it, my dad has quite a few, mum, brother, me. nothing better than rolling upto the shows as a family unit each in our respective cars 😂😂. thank you for saving this beauty and giving it another deserved go at life
That was such an amazing gift guys, so awesome. Can't believe that the engine was in such good condition. What compound did you use to stain the bumper? It really came out looking great. A real feel good video.
Love your alls channel, love watching you all bring cars gone back. Just finished this one. I'm 45 now, as for the question. My dream car was from my youth a 1985 jeep grand wagoneer. Yea that one would be what I'd dream of owning. I mean the style, the wood paneling, the wheels. Yea that's what I dream of wanting to have some day.
Definitely one of the most satisfying vid's you guys have done. Just love these older boxy Volvo wagons. This one turned out great. Underneath all that dust & dirt was a gem
I am in South Africa and I love watching your recordings. If I can be presented with an old FORD GT, I will be so excited. I love vintage cars with comfort, power and speed
My dream car is a subaru outback. I love the way the outback looks, handles & they hold their bluebook value. I was fortunate 2 B able 2 drive my brothers for a couple yrs, B4 he traded for a new Ford decked out truck!! Sure do miss it!! The Volvo is so retro cool! Luv it! Great job guys!! Watching from Alaska!!
First of all I absolutely Love watching your videos they calm me down after a long day. I love nothing more than cleaning and detailing my own cars. So you asked what kind of car I would want and that's an easy one, a 1968 Chevy Nova, it was my first car ever I bought it on my own and cherished it until i joined the Army and when I came back after 9 months of initial training my dad sold my car out from under me, I have never been so mad in my entire life, but it is what it is, Promised myself that one day I would get another one but with time and life happening it never happened but Again I love watching your videos as it takes me back to a simpler time, Thank You
Gorgeous car. I remember in 1994 I had a rich friend whose parents gifted her the most gorgeous Volvo. we drove around in it all summer. I always wanted one. Currently rocking my Honda CRV and love it, BUT....this car!!!!!
Oh yeh. I love give aways, allways making me emotional... Old cars.... You guys are the best. I would be the happiest camper in the world with an alfa romeo gtv 1976.
I'm a huge Volvo fan as well and have always dreamed of owning a 780 Bertone Coupe. I had photo clippings of the 780 on my walls when I was a teenager! I'm a Volvo nerd for sure. When I was stationed overseas I got to drive one and am a huge fan of the 780 to this day. Someday I will find my dream 780!
Who in the world parks & junks a 1990 Volvo wagon in that shape? Our family car growing up was a 240DL wagon, an absolute tank! The 1980s & 1990s were Volvo’s golden age. This was so satisfying to watch!
Mike i know how you feel my wife and i have a 04 volvo xc90 its such a reliable nice car... Thank you for saving that beautiful car from the crusher!!!!
Old Volvos are probably one of the most underrated cars you can buy. I recently bought a 1994 940 for 1500. Had 261k miles but ran tip top. Interior is also in great condition. Its crazy to see how undervalued these cars really are. Never mind the fact that theyre both boring and slow, thats what makes them charming. Too bad its not the wagon variant, but even then, its a good example of the good ole Swedish tank
To answer the question you guys asked, I have a few cars that I would literally do anything for. One of them would have to be the very first suv I bought off craigslist. I had my friends drive me over two hours out to the middle of nowhere in Massachusetts to meet with this guy who is selling it for his daughter. It had over 200k miles but was only a two owner suv, and to top it all off most of its life had been spent in California and most of the miles were highway (when the daughter would drive from school in Cali to Mass to be with her family). It was a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero sport in gold/tan/beige... I had sticker-bombed the "spoiler" it came with aaand I also had a skeleton passenger named Geoff... He would be very useful during the crazy Mass snow storms. Whenever I would use Geoff as a spot saver NO ONE would steal my spot. That Mitsubishi has so so so so so many good memories associated with it... But it was unfortunately totaled out by insurance after a hit and run, my car was parked and a brand new hybrid Lexus sedan backed up into and along my passenger side... Causing only cosmetic damage. Insurance paid me $1,700 after I was able to prove it was their client using my dashcam... And when I couldn't legally drive her (I named the Mitsubishi after an event... She was named Misty) due to the title being flagged I donated it to kars 4 kids. About seven months later I was at a junkyard with some friends of mine looking for parts for their car when I asked one of the workers there if they might have seen a car come in with a skeleton sitting in the passenger seat. The workers eyes instantly lit up enjoy as he remembered the car and he explained that yes he remembered it and they all loved it, they used it as a yard car for about three months before the engine finally exploded and they gave it an honorable discharge by crushing it. I would literally give my left lung for that car again. I would also consider a smart car, or even a mini countryman...
My father used to own one of these but a sedan version. We have so much memories from that car. In Sweden Volvo is as Swedish as ABBA and IKEA. We are very proud of this brand and really appreciated when other people from different nation do so too.
This beauty was scheduled to get crushed 😢. So glad you guys saved it!! I have a Volvo 240 sedan and I am an advent Volvo lover so seeing you guys take such good care fixing it up blessed my heart 🙏.

I'm with Mike. The boxy 90's Volvo wagon is a classic 👍
The load carrying capacity on these old Volvo's is amazing.
Mike's face when you guys gave him the car. Man, that's priceless friendship, Guys!
Needs a 1988 firebird. Formula with the 350. And turbo hydro auto t tops. White saddle interior
Probably one of the best videos from y'all that we have seen yet! Spreading kindness is amazing and contagious! Keep representing CLE with your amazing light!!
Thank you! We will!
Ahh CLE I saw the Ohio plates. Akron Volvo nutcase here showing props! Good content
The Volvo is a special car from that era. Love the wheels too and the Mike give away was heartwarming! Nice job fellas !
Thank you Reinaldo!
And to think that car was going to be crushed. Sadly in this world many things end up being disposed of when they could be saved.
And to think this one was almost crushed...glad you saved it guys and gave it to Mike! Also glad that you're a part of the team Mike!
When Mike gets tired of driving this, he can send it to me....
I love to own a right hand drive ae86 twincam the car of my deams
I'm loving Mike! He's such a passionate car lover, it's so obvious😄 A really nice addition to your team!!!
That makes us so happy!
Taking care of your own... employees, is everything. Well done! It was beautiful to behold, thank you.
Can't believe they were gonna crush that beauty. Congrat's Mike!
must say, Mike got gifted with a car that still has plenty of life. Awesome WD team
Oh, this car looks amazing after you finished with her, that paint just shines! And the fact that it is so straight is incredible. Can't say that about a lot 33 yr old cars these days, or even the newer ones. You know the old saying-they don't make 'em like they used to. Good job!
We felt the same way! No dents at all!

So much more character than the SUV garbage 'in fashion' today.
Aww man that's great giving the car to the guy, just great.
Especially the wagons ❤
Wagons are a real gap in the car buying assortment these days. Not everyone wants an SUV or even a crossover vehicle. I'd be perfectly happy with a modern station wagon as my family car if someone would make one for under $60K.
@@untexan biggest problem with modern estates is the rear window, its always sloped/at quite an angle which eliminates allot of trunk/boot room
Right on!
My dream truck is a Dodge Ram 2500 with a Cummins turbo diesel.
Or a 1986 Mercedes 300 turbo diesel
So glad I found you guys. The happiness you bring by giving new life to these vehicles is awesome!!!
Since I first saw one of these, I got hooked. Fantastic looks. Great body design.
You guys take "kindness" to a new level. Your team is awesome. Love watching every video. Keep up the great work.
87 Camaro. It was my first car my mom gave me and she unfortunately passed away in 2020 😢 Always love the transformations you guys do! Thank You! Eddie
That car seems like it’s in exceptional condition! Nice job saving it, and blessing your friend.
The motor didn't sound very healthy... It was left there to rot for a reason.
@@kirdot2011 Yes, those 16 valve engines had a bad reputation! Not nearly as durable as the 8 valve Redblocks!
My grandparents had a 1996 Volvo 850 for I think over 15 years....they gave it to me and I was absolutely in love with that car. Sadly living in NYC there was no parking at my job so all I ended up doing was moving it from one side of the street to the other for alt side parking, and eventually had to give it up but not a day goes by when I don't miss that car and desperately wish I still had it 😢
I have always wanted. 1973 Monte Carlo. My aunt had one and I was very jealous of her. I am a true Monte Carlo lover.
You guys are singlehandedly turning me into a car guy. I just joined a car club at my college and Im getting into detailing now. Gonna get my dad's 2014 Corolla lookin fine!
That’s what we like to hear!
@@yahiaechaab3357 allah isn't real
I just discovered your page and I love it so much. You seem like awesome guys and miracle workers as to how you can give new life to these cars. So great that you gave this car to Mike. The gift of giving is the best!
We’re so glad to have you, James!
❤❤❤❤A very very wonderful and professional work in the car, and I was very happy to give the car to Mike as if I took it, all thanks for the moments of happiness in the movie and at the end... 💐 💐 💐 💐
What an amazing transformation! Nice work guys!
740s and 940s are getting very rare and super-collectable now, the estates especially. Really glad you saved this one - looks awesome inside and out!
Here in The Netherlands you see the 740 and 940 very regular and they are still running daily !!!
hhahha just go to sweden you can find one running for about 500 to 1500 dollars
Those were the last Volvo series that were build like tanks!

@@ppdanNot safe cars today, but interesting
Just finished the video and this turned out to be one of your best detailing jobs to watch. The result is fantastic to say the least. Good job guys!
Great video guys! It might need a lot of work for sure, but other than that it’s difficult for me to understand how and why this 740 got abandoned for it to be crushed. Unimaginable!
I know! The scrapyard told us it was going to be crushed soon
Im wondering if there is a crucial discontinued part thats at fault
$$$ They probably had a lot of “disposable” income and people want the new new
@@musikdrengen02 If there is, Mike will soon find out!
@@musikdrengen02 very unlikely, theres tons of new parts for theese on the cheap in sweden.
Such a great find! Always loved the Volvo wagons!!!!

I love watching your videos. I can tell that you guys really love your job.😊
This is a cool video. getting to clean up and fix the car that you want and get it free is a dream come true
Young fellas, beautiful work on that Volvo but what I really liked is all your enthusiasm and incredible work ethic. All my best.
Loved the video! I’m not a Volvo fan but you guys do great work! Thanks.
loved this video, growing up a volvo lover thanks to my amazing father has shown me the true appreciation for these beautys. when i tell you everyone in my family has one i mean it, my dad has quite a few, mum, brother, me. nothing better than rolling upto the shows as a family unit each in our respective cars 😂😂. thank you for saving this beauty and giving it another deserved go at life
Another great video. You two are really becoming great storytellers!
That was such an amazing gift guys, so awesome. Can't believe that the engine was in such good condition. What compound did you use to stain the bumper? It really came out looking great. A real feel good video.
This has got to be a plant car. Those seats are never in that good of condition
Great video! Congratulations Mike! That car is awesome! Awesome job guys!
I drive a 1992 volvo 240 wagon, and I understand the love for this model and body type of volvo. it holds a special place in a lot of peoples hearts
I had a Volvo 240, I loved that car. My daughter, now 36, still fondly remembers that car too, but I do come from a family of Volvo lovers.
A soft box, but interesting none the less.
Such a nice gesture.
I learned to drive in a 740 wagon. Great job guys.
A 1969 cougar. I've always wanted one of those car's.❤
We had one of these when I was in highschool and I loved it. It was really nice and drove like a dream. Got my license in that car.
Spectacular video.....one of your best!
Definitely one of the most satisfying vid's you guys have done. Just love these older boxy Volvo wagons. This one turned out great. Underneath all that dust & dirt was a gem
Yep, the mirrors and bumper were so satisfying!!!!!! Amazing detail work!!!!!!
I am in South Africa and I love watching your recordings. If I can be presented with an old FORD GT, I will be so excited. I love vintage cars with comfort, power and speed
VOLVO IS VOLVO MIKE DISERVES IT HE WORKS HARD CLEANING THEM AND HE KNOWS PRETTY MUCH ABOUT CARS. LET THE MAN ENJOY IT.
Beautiful restoration ...I LOVE these old volvo
Wow, great transformation from before and after. Great job.
Volvo for life, I'm amazed how good that car looks...
Wonderful videos, as well as all the wonderful purpose behind them.
I just bought my 740gl this month and I can't wait to get it driving
I really like how you guys save this Volvo. I grew up with a 740! I will always have a place in my heart for this Volvo.
My first car was a 93 740 turbo sedan. This brought back some memories!
Finding a car in this state is like finding mozes his sandels! Congrats with the car!
This car was restored beautifully! It reminds me of the BMW 3 series wagon I said I would treat myself to after becoming a nurse. 😊 Sweet work guys! 😊
Very happy for Mike
He and me have much in common regarding car tastes. I love the old, indestructible cars ❤❤❤
You guys hit me in the feels
Mike i know how you feel my wife and i have a 04 volvo xc90 its such a reliable nice car... Thank you for saving that beautiful car from the crusher!!!!
I'm with Mike; always loved #volvos. That was a nice gesture.
I would love a Saab to find and receive, they had so much character and charm
I won't lie, the man has good taste. I'd take that Volvo any day of the week.
My first car was a 740. This is awesome.
This was the same as my family's car when I was little. Really cool to see you clean one up!
What a great looking car. Love the 90s vehicles
A Volvo 740 wagon. Owned an early V70 for 22 years, but the 740 is where it's at.
