Wow, these manhole fires are really creepy!
Yes they are !!!!
WAAAY worse in person.
And really hard to put out. Apparently if you spray foam or water over a transformer vault it makes it even worse than you think.
What happens at a Slayer concert mosh pit and a portal to hell opens.
Wow what a great video , literally was super clear !
Another great video thanks brother 🧑🚒🚒🇺🇸
Wowwwww! Third today once again I love these videos
Oh joy, another electrical fire. :-/ I'm sure life-long New Yorkers would appreciate if their electrical grid would get some much needed juice, in the form of MONEY for upgrades!
NICE CATCH TONIGHT

Wow 3 different place jezz
How Is this even possible? We never have this here.
Old and outdated infrastructure, maybe?
Salt spread on the streets to prevent icing gets into the electrical system.
Where are you ?
@@Michaelbos from the netherlands
Salt from sanitation when it snows corroded the wires
This first one I seen in winter time other ones were during summer
Is there any danger of electric shock when flooding water into a manhole like this? It’s an honest question, I’m from Australia and don’t see this where I’m from.
They’re spraying the water on the street and letting it run into the manhole. This is done to prevent getting shocked. This is done when the utility company arrives on the scene and gives the ok to hit the fire with water.
That’s what happens to me when i eat gluten
Is it a new technique? Attack an electrical fire with water?
Nope. Just need to wait for the electric company to come and approve it and water can be applied. At that point the rubber surrounding the wires is burning so it’s both a fire & an electrical fire.
I bet that smells
It smells horrible
timestamp on explosion?
Does it matter? Just be thankful you weren't standing on one at the time. 🇮🇪
Time of explosion 1:29
Alie A they're referring to the point in the video
Bad smoke manhole
That Honda is beyond stink.
I’m sorry I haven’t watched ur videos my iPad is always dead now I’m sorry ):😭😭
These are cable faults, not transformers blowing.
Some people just have no idea what they are talking about. Everyone just assumes it's a transformer. Although it does surprise me that the response to an underground fault is soak it, instead of making sure grid opens the breakers first.
From the firemen on scene and from Con-Ed, the electrical company. That is a transformer vault...
@@FDNYResponseVideos Lol look at these buffoons who weren't even present, try and assume, and act like they know what they're talking about when clearly you were with the guys handling it.
@@FDNYResponseVideos If it were a transformer that exploded, there would be a lot of fire and black smoke from the burning oil. This is clearly a cable fault or a connection fault external to the transformer.
@@jatlifevlogs2725 there was... that part of the video was taken about an hour into it. If you really must get more evidence, here are the citizen live streams from the incident: go.citizen.com/NRG5r7xdrcb
Yikes😬
why pour water on an electrical fire?
trying to flood the manhole until ConEd emergency crew shuts down power; water stream runs down the street and not directly into it - oh, and line opens on fire not smoke or explosions
