BBK everytime clutch gets changed the headers have to come out. More expensive headers can stay on. Not worth the hassle or the money spent for 20 hp maybe unless doing swap front suspension, tubular k member bushings etc all in one job.
Thanks for the heads up! At this point, I don't really feel like it's a hassle to work on. Even with jacks and hand tools, it's fun to tinker with so I don't mind too much.
I have SLP longtubes & xpipe on my 04 GT. I had them installed in 06. I think it made mine sound better & louder than the stock setup. I am still running converters.
Yeah I've got a throttle body on back order right now so I'll tune it right after that. Then probably leave it alone for a while. Got a wedding coming up so gotta save some money but I'll always want to mod it further lol thanks for dropping by!
@@HitchagoodMotors,if you can, get it dyno'd and then install the tune and get it dyno'd again to see what kind of gains you get for mods without a tune and mods with a tune. If you're not currently running 93 octane you'll probably need to do that after the tune as well.
Nah, no cats. It does smoke just because they aren't on there. CEL does come on but you can get that turned off with a tune which is what I plan to do maybe next spring
It's hard to tell if I've gained anything at all on the bottom end. Was a little disappointed at first but Once you crack 4k you can tell a big difference though!
@@HitchagoodMotors I put long tube Kooks w/xpipe on my 03 Mach with 2 chamber flowmasters 4:30 gear seemed to loose a bit of torque down low but after 4K it really sounds good.
INCORRECT. "Back pressure" is Never good. Never. When you open it up too much you end up losing the scavenging effect of the exhaust. It's not a loss of back pressure that causes power loss. It's loss of scavenging.
I want a mach 1 they are badass
Better get one soon! They're going up in price!
@@HitchagoodMotors i know🥲
Go get one!
I’m on my third one.
Super fun, got rid of my Corvette for the Mach 😁
@@johnsorensen3831 BEST purchase of my life. I LOVE this thing

WOULD THE SHORTY HEADERS BE BETTER FOR SOUND AND BOLT UP TO STOCK PIPES AND ALL ?

If you haven't had a custom tune done you need to. You'll only realize about half the advertised gains without it. Nice video. I appreciate the tips.

Did you dyno the car before and after the headers?
Only true way of knowing if the claims are true.
Nah, I'm posting a tune video now to show what the numbers are!
Do you have your Cats still on there?
Any check engine lights come on?

Don't get the BBK throttle body. Get the Accufab. It's much better. My '04 Mach 1 has smoother acceleration with the Accufab.
Noted! Probably easier to find as well.
Be careful too much flow N/A you will loose HP without the back pressure from the cats.

Holy crimp in that pipe lol
haha yeah it comes that way to make the clearance around the steering shaft. I thought it was damaged from shipment at first!
@@HitchagoodMotors I'm surprised that doesn't restrict the shit out of that one cylinder. Pretty wild.
@@JJD-9403look up the motortrend show Engine Masters. They beat the crap out of headers and dyno test them and it made no difference. Crazy but true.
If I could do it again I would got with a set of shortys over the long tubes …. Long tubes are a bitch!
