Wow, I thought at least the animatronics would work very well because of their technology, but NO, this attraction hasn't even been around for a single month and there's already a lot of damaged stuff. Without a doubt, replacing splash Mountain was not only a mistake, but also a waste of money, quality and time, because come on, but the animatronic critters don't even blink and only have one movement (in splash Mountain even the little frogs had more movement and synchronized with the music) undoubtedly fatal. By the way, Lottie is also frozen in that part I think, at 1:09🙃
1:31 The stupid sounding discordant music. Tiana just sitting there like "F you. We already got your money". I'd say this scene sums up the ride perfectly.
The animatronics are amazing but too complex. One of the Tianas is outside? Next to water. It will be weathered in less than a year. Regular maintenance people at Disney must be fuming.
While i dont think the ride is entirely bad, it's still sad we got this. Good animatronics dont automatically make a ride better. Well, at least we got Epic Universe soon.
"These new A1000 animatronics, and characters in Tiana's were so much better than the rotten ones from Splash Mountain" The characters and animatronic in question:
The old ones would have to be rebuilt completely without the infrastructure to rebuild that older technology at that scale. The animatronics were nearly 50 years old. They could fix one or two but not a whole cast. (Also there's a million virtual complexities that have to be worked out over a long time with these new figures before they're 10x more reliable than an audio figure. Engineering isn't just assembling stuff and having it work even when it looks done.) Also you're quoting nobody.
@@George_vv let's be honest, a splash refurb would've been better than this retheme. Even tho i think splash wasnt really outdated (people like its a small world and peter pan), i think a refurb could've brought tons of light. Look at tokyo, it looks amazing.
@@George_vv Not really entirely true. I worked on this ride, alot, along with many of my Imagineer-friends. When the old Disney (the Classic masters of the craft, who are gone, now), did a Rehab, they did exactly that..and then some. They upgraded and replaced everything that need to be replaced. So most of it, over time, was becoming state of the art. I still prefer Audio-Animatronics, over most of the new robotic junk. My friend, a master Imagineer, was able to program these figures more realistically than I have ever seen, including these A1000's- which are hightly overrated! They appear to be flailing around, for a number of reasons, including lack of knowledge of acting and human movements of the programmer, , and the technology itself, etc. Splash Mountain was my friends Masterpiece, and Tianas is a piece of junk in comparison.
@@George_vvTokyo Disneyland Splash Mountain is 1000x better than Bayou Adventure and it’s 32 years old. No one is buying that they couldn’t upgrade it with modern tech and maintain it. They don’t want to spend anything and fired most of the talent, that’s their issue.
Look even an idiot like me knew this was gonna happen. Can't believe they didn't even think of B-mode or a B story line if these animatronics broke down
I would seriously watch a short film where Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox, and Brer Bear put aside their differences to mess up TBA as much as possible and restore Splash Mountain 😂
YES EXACTLY XD, even the ppl who WANTED Splash Mountain to be changed don’t like this. I love the OG Splash Mountain but I was really freaking excited when I found out that what they were choosing to change it to was Princess and the Frog. I would miss the original but at least we were swapping it for something else just as good. What we actually got seems very rushed and unfinished
It's interesting how Tokyo Disney opened 2 rides with way more A-1000 animatronics and they haven't had any issues at all despite opening a month before Tiana's 🤔
i think part of it is the fact that they used completely electronic animatronics in a water ride, IN FLORIDA tokyo wouldn’t have that problem, as their climate is a lot more conducive to those types of animatronics, which are very delicate when it comes to temperature and moisture. idk what they were thinking, they should’ve used hydraulic or pneumatic animatronics for that kind of environment smh the splash mountain animatronics had their issues, but when they were actually maintained well, they didn’t have as much trouble functioning in the heat and humidity, bc they were mostly hydraulic iirc (could be wrong, but they’re old enough that they may not have been using pneumatics yet)
@@cheetosan , that's a good point, but you also have to consider that the animatronics in Tokyo are also in water rides, and summers in Japan get extremely humid, even worse than Florida at times.
@@Lemonaidz7 i will admit i don’t know as much about japan’s weather, so you may be right on that 😅 it may just be that the splash mountain location in particular isn’t suited to electric animatronics, coupled with how rushed everything was. idk tho, i’m just a nerd on the internet lol
@@cheetosan hydraulic/pneumatic animatronics can still malfunction; i have heard that on the florida splash mountain's last day of operation, the ride was the most broken it has been in years; one of the br'er fox figures' jaws even became detached from his head, and i imagine the fluid that is used to move it came spilling out the exposed tubes
When you hear that they're putting actual animatronics in the ride: 😊 When you realize that this is in Disney World and they're awful when it comes to performing maintenance on their rides: 🙁
before this ride opened, i was paranoid malfunctions like these would happen because electric actuator animatronics are not as waterproof as hydraulic animatronics (well they still malfunction sometimes, but you know what i mean)

Back in the day I was "close" friends with Brer Bear. We spent a lot of time together at this mountain and I have to say there is truly a curse of Splash Mountain. Splash broke down time to time, but nothing like this and I believe Splash is letting everyone know WDI killed it was before its time. I do understand thing need to be update, unfortunately the mark was missed on so many levels.
I don’t know whether to give a thumbs up on this video because this channel has shown the truth about what Disney has done to the beloved splash mountain, or to give it a thumbs down because this video shows Tiana’s bum hole in such a negative light. Either case I subscribed to this channel thanks to the WDW pro channel.
Here's the problem with these electrically animated figures: linear electrical actuators are high-speed electric motors that push and pull on threaded rods by spinning at a high rate of speed (think about a drill or an electric screwdriver). Anyone else think that a little motor might be prone to failure after reversing direction thousands of times a day while spinning at very high speeds? The "old school" hydraulic and pneumatic actuators fill or drain pistons with oil or air to push and pull on rods and move the figure. The force exerted is directly proportionate to the mass of the air or fluid entering the cylinder. Can you see how that's more reliable than spinning a tiny electric motor?
I have a dream that they'll eventually do that. But once they invest money, they stick by it. Especially when there's political motivations behind it. We're still stuck with "Soarin' Around the World" at DCA even though everyone agrees it pales in comparison to the original. Damn, I need to become a Disney CEO so I can fix this.
@@johnsmi213it still pisses me off that they changed Soarin to that bullshit. It's called CALIFORNIA Adventure park for a reason, dumb fucks! Not WORLD adventure. And to put that Guardians bullshit over HOLLYWOOD Tower of Terror was another stupid mistake for a park supposed to be about CALIFORNIA

It’s so sad the downgrade Disney made with this after millions of dollars. Splash Mountain felt like the critters lived there, we came into their world. It’s so awkward seeing the next animatronic silently waiting up ahead for you to pass their sensor. Put them on a loop like how it was before, so it puts some actual life into them. We didn’t spend money to watch screens either, but to be immersed into an imaginary world. The place feels like they scraped the bare minimum of the barrel just to try to entertain us. A few critters scattered throughout the bayou feels like they are coming out just for us, then to get back into the dark void. Just stick to doing rides based on the movies like the classic Fantasyland dark rides, add Facilier, “Are you ready” for the drop, and put Tiana in her gown at the finale with a familiar song on the recycled riverboat scene…would have been amazing! I’ve seen so many comments of African Americans saying they didn’t care about the Song of the South drama, because the ride didn’t convey that at all and was an enjoyable experience for decades! Poor Tony Baxter and what they’ve done to his masterpiece, and the millions who will grow up never knowing the classic of a ride Splash was.
I'm confused, I thought this sort of technology was supposed to get better in the future. I find myself longing for Bear Country, this attracting really makes me miss Rufus snoring.
Yikes! I knew TBA was having issues with its show scenes here and there, but I had no idea it was to this extent. People have only been riding for a week and a half and there are almost as many malfunctioning elements as Splash had towards the end of its life. I wouldn’t believe it if I didn’t see it for myself right here.

By the way, Lottie is also frozen in that part I think, at 1:09🙃
Tokyo Disneyland watching TBA breaking down: ☺️☕
Removing Splash was the biggest mistake. I'm speechless now a days on Disney's choices.

They are getting rid of all classic rides… wonder what’s next? And that’s terrible !
@@loreniki The Tiki Room and Peter Pan better not be next!

So glad to see everyone clowning on this ride. One of the worst decisions Disney has ever made.
The ride is so bad, even the animatronics question their purpose, so they give up 😅
I'm genuinely concerned about when this ride opens to the public, if these animatronics are breaking down now still!? 🤯

That CocoMellon video of Tiana looks really bad!
Looks better in person (all the screens do)
1:31 The stupid sounding discordant music. Tiana just sitting there like "F you. We already got your money". I'd say this scene sums up the ride perfectly.
This is so depressing, both the Splash Mountain and Princess and the Frog characters deserve better
It's a sign telling Disney to bring splash mountain back
The animatronics are amazing but too complex.
"These new A1000 animatronics, and characters in Tiana's were so much better than the rotten ones from Splash Mountain"
The characters and animatronic in question:
The old ones would have to be rebuilt completely without the infrastructure to rebuild that older technology at that scale. The animatronics were nearly 50 years old. They could fix one or two but not a whole cast. (Also there's a million virtual complexities that have to be worked out over a long time with these new figures before they're 10x more reliable than an audio figure. Engineering isn't just assembling stuff and having it work even when it looks done.)
Also you're quoting nobody.
@@George_vv let's be honest, a splash refurb would've been better than this retheme. Even tho i think splash wasnt really outdated (people like its a small world and peter pan), i think a refurb could've brought tons of light. Look at tokyo, it looks amazing.
Disney jest stoped fixing splash mountain to make this boring shit
Can't believe they didn't even think of B-mode or a B story line if these animatronics broke down
The animatronics are just as broken as the McDonald's ice cream machine.

I love the OG Splash Mountain but I was really freaking excited when I found out that what they were choosing to change it to was Princess and the Frog. I would miss the original but at least we were swapping it for something else just as good. What we actually got seems very rushed and unfinished

It's interesting how Tokyo Disney opened 2 rides with way more A-1000 animatronics and they haven't had any issues at all despite opening a month before Tiana's 🤔
i think part of it is the fact that they used completely electronic animatronics in a water ride, IN FLORIDA
tokyo wouldn’t have that problem, as their climate is a lot more conducive to those types of animatronics, which are very delicate when it comes to temperature and moisture. idk what they were thinking, they should’ve used hydraulic or pneumatic animatronics for that kind of environment smh
the splash mountain animatronics had their issues, but when they were actually maintained well, they didn’t have as much trouble functioning in the heat and humidity, bc they were mostly hydraulic iirc (could be wrong, but they’re old enough that they may not have been using pneumatics yet)
sorry for the rambling djcvjjvjkv i have a special interest in animatronics
@@cheetosan , that's a good point, but you also have to consider that the animatronics in Tokyo are also in water rides, and summers in Japan get extremely humid, even worse than Florida at times.
@@Lemonaidz7 i will admit i don’t know as much about japan’s weather, so you may be right on that 😅
it may just be that the splash mountain location in particular isn’t suited to electric animatronics, coupled with how rushed everything was. idk tho, i’m just a nerd on the internet lol
When you hear that they're putting actual animatronics in the ride: 😊
When you realize that this is in Disney World and they're awful when it comes to performing maintenance on their rides: 🙁
😂😂😂 thank you for sharing this!! I wish Tiana would of gotten her own ride and we kept Splash. A stand alone Tiana ride would of been much better!

@@TitanKaiju75 That's my point. It was Iger trying to play catchup with Hogsmeade in 2010, not Epic Universe, a park that had probably not even been conceived when Pandora first broke ground
@@davidguthrie6316 Exactly. I'm sure Disney knew about Epic Universe *LONG* before we did as well though. They had every opportunity and ample time to prepare some sort of counter-expansion to Epic Universe, but the company is completely incapable under Iger and his cronies' leadership.
Epic Universe is Gonna be so much better than this crap. When Epic Universe opens in Universal Studios Orlando, Disney is screwed.
Yeah, especially after that Werewolf animatronic reveal. If they can pull that thing off, Disney's in a pickle.

Disney needed to have at least Brer Rabbit appear as an Easter egg. That rabbit worked for decades! And the Vultures too.
Should have had the million dollar rabbit just to flex in it’s face for costing Disney so much
That would have defeated the whole point of erasing any and all traces of Song Of The South. As if the movie killed all the board members' kids.
there is an easter egg in the queue; on the desk's shelf (seen when you enter the building the car is parked near) is a figurine of a rabbit, fox and bear

Best description about this slop of a attraction
I loved the film "Princess and the Frog" too much to ever want to go on this attraction supposedly based on it. This ride makes "Superstar Limo" amazing in comparison, even if everything was working the way it was supposed to.
Do know what Disney should do? Combine both splash mountain and Tiana’s bayou adventure together
This was both sad and funny.
Thanks for bringing awareness of how awful this ride is… not just with the malfunctions.
I love this channel. For years I've been told I was racist for saying 1) Splash Mountain doesn't need to be replaced, 2) this new ride would probably be sanitized to the point of being boring and all concepts of thrills and memorable scenes and classic musical cues would be lost forever. And people would say things like "Well, Splash Mountain, everything was broken so it had to be changed." Yes, much cheaper to make this monstrosity than fix a handful of animatronics. Politicizing an attraction about a rabbit, bear, and wolf... the Internet is filled with morons.

Can you see how that's more reliable than spinning a tiny electric motor?
tear it all down and put splash back how it was
Amen!
I have a dream that they'll eventually do that. But once they invest money, they stick by it. Especially when there's political motivations behind it. T-posing Tiana was truly a highlight in this entire trainwreak
Assert Dominance by the T-pose position Tiana.
Poor Tony Baxter and what they’ve done to his masterpiece, and the millions who will grow up never knowing the classic of a ride Splash was.
br'er fox died for THIS?? to not even be replaced with dr. facilier??
The ride's malfunction makes the ride more interesting than during normal run... Lol #bringbacksplashmountain
I'm confused, I thought this sort of technology was supposed to get better in the future. I find myself longing for Bear Country, this attracting really makes me miss Rufus snoring.
How can you trust the ride performs safely if the animatronics which are the main focus keep messing up!
Yikes! I knew TBA was having issues with its show scenes here and there, but I had no idea it was to this extent. People have only been riding for a week and a half and there are almost as many malfunctioning elements as Splash had towards the end of its life. I wouldn’t believe it if I didn’t see it for myself right here.
Don't worry, TBA will last for 2 or 3 year and Splash will be restored to it's former glory.
