As of 2022, China had six nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines, six nuclear-powered attack submarines and 48 diesel-powered attack submarines, according to a Pentagon report on China's military. That submarine force is expected to grow to 65 by 2025 and 80 by 2035, the U.S. Defense Department has said.Sep 27, 2024
When you are surrounded by US military bases and the 1st island chain, 2nd island chain, choke points in Malaka Strait so on, and so forth, you are bascially forced to build 400 ships to defend yourself and your shipping routes.
If it’s “significantly larger” than an America class, then its displacement would be around a Queen Elizabeth class…..a “heavy” aircraft carrier. Unless it’s made of marshmellows
China Is Determined To Have World Dominance In Military, Automotive & Various Other Areas... There's no point in criticizing a country to want power & ability to not only protect itself, but also assert it's self if necessary... What US can do is prepare itself to meet at minimum or exceed at best any other countries military... Drones have definitely changed the way wars are fought... Large ships, including aircraft carriers are extremely vulnerable to new onslaught of newer technologies... Smaller countries, ie... philipines, vietnam, malaysia, indonesia, etc... can be easily manipulated, dominated & bullied if it were not for intervention of US & US allies...
According to Chinese media, the ship's full displacement is expected to exceed 40,000 tonnes. For comparison, the previous Type 075 has an estimated displacement of around 36,000 tonnes. This puts it in a similar range to the US Navy’s America-class ships, which have a displacement of about 46,000 tonnes.
These guys are pumping out new, modern naval vessels at a blistering pace.
They don’t have the buracracy that we have here hampering our efforts.
At the expenses ,of it's own , people's
Life qualities , ??.

You don’t build an enormous Military Navel Fleet without plans on using it.

Of course it is used as the fishing boat.
You have heard of the US "Pivot to Asia" or translated "US aims guns at China"?
Won't China develop a VTOL plane?
why bother with a catapult.
不會
So is 076 a small aircraft carrier?
in according to the displacement, heavy aircraft carrier
It’s a light aircraft carrier, drone carrier
If it’s “significantly larger” than an America class, then its displacement would be around a Queen Elizabeth class…..a “heavy” aircraft carrier. Unless it’s made of marshmellows
What would expect from a country that builds 70% of all ships on earth!? In comparison US is 0.01%

China was fine with coastal patrol ships, until the US decided on its "Pivot to Asia" I recommend you go look that up.
