I'm thinking to have this done on my 24 yr old heat pump although there are no problems starting that I can hear. Really makes sense but why are there so many who think it should only be put on systems where the compressor actually has difficulty starting?

Why would they not just include this when you by a HVAC?
Because basic A/C systems are not designed for a hard start kit. Its only optional. Plus it helps to generate income for a company who recommend them!

@@DMTXXDMT Not on Brand new or nearly new systems. Only time I recommend them is if the compressor is over amping on start up. Which usually happens on 12-15 year old systems. As long as you keep up the maintenance up on your system every year, the a/c can last for a long time.

I had a company quite a guy $1,024 for this kit lol. The parts out the door are like 50
