I am so happy that you are making these videos about these niche feelings that make people feel they are the only ones... but no we are plenty out there feeling similar things. And these videos are very helpful, especially becasuse you are so open and close in them. Thank you:)
I'm so glad you are able to resonate with the videos! I'm glad my video has made you feel seen and not alone. That's great!!! Thank you so much for being here
The feeling of not being forced to stick on to something is really good. I also suffer a lot .. and I mean a lot!! Thats why I changed my purchase decisions tremendously.. I only buy what I need right that moment, even if I have to get another one soon after. This made it a lot easier to switch things up. Glad someone is there who thinks exactly like me. Have a great day Gare.
Thanks for sharing, friend! I always love having a backlog of notebooks that way I always have something ready to go once I fill one up. I appreciate you watching!
I'm glad you finally got over yourself (always the biggest hurdle), amd are now letting yourself enjoy those gorgeous Field Notes! I'm someone who switches favorites like shirts, and never stick with one thing too long! I have 30 pocket notebooks, and they're a collection of 5 different versions/brands - just to prep for the inevitable desire of something different. However, I'm still obsessed with the first brand of pocket notebooks I ever tried, so I hope I'll get through the 10 of these I have before i feel the urge to try one of the others. On another unrelated note, I recently finished your entire catalogue of videos and you're now one of my fav youtubers! Its very weird not having anything new to watch from you since I'm all caught up. Can't wait for next week's video, have a great week ahead!
I'm so glad I did! I cannot WAIT to get further into my collection. I'm on my second one as of writing this, and it's the Unites States of Letterpress collection. I LOVE the artwork on these. ALSO dude you legit watched ALL of my videos?? That's absolutely amazing. I appreciate the dedication🫡 As you can see, the channel has gone through MANY phases! Thank you for being a real one😎
Enjoyed the video. The notebooks are to help us write. Writing is the goal, not "notebooking." Whatever medium gets me writing is a win. I've recently loved just writing on a legal pad tearing out my page once I've filled it and tossing it. I feel a little queasy not keeping all this logged away for reference but that's not my goal - WRITING is my goal.
This is why I just get a bunch of knockoff field notes in bulk, and those are usually sewn too. Field Books and Log + Jotter are other good alternatives if you're concerned about quality control.
Hey Gare! This was the last video I expected to see today, but you do make a great point.. I mean.. If I had so many varieties of a notebook laying on my shelf, it would drive me INSANE! (in a good way!) I would want to write in all of them! But in the end I think you made a great decision by switching it up a bit, plus come on.. you can always continue where you left off, just by putting a date on your last entry! Let me know if my idea helps! :D
Welcome to the escalating path created by the immense amount of stationery options. FN are great. Love the vibe of the company, the good folks who create there, and the collaborations they foster. Now you'll need the right EDC pen to go with this step up in EDC notebook. Wingback here you come? Enjoy.
Thank you! I, too, VERY much like field notes as a company. Their customer service is great, and as an affiliate they treat creators well in terms of supporting video ideas. Love em!
Honestly me forcing rules onto myself for writing in my journals, is what led to me never really writing in them or staying consistent. Playing loose and doing what I want when I want has helped me a ton.
as an artist i have exactly the same problem with sketchbooks- i TOTALLY get you!! its even worse when you use wet and dry mediums and have to consider which paper types can handle the mediums you want to use. I'm trying to narrow down the number of sketchbooks that i have going at once but its a bit of a struggle. as of current i have....13 sketchbooks currently in use. different shapes, different sizes, thicker paper, gridded paper, black paper.... I find it very hard to stick to just one. i have a few shoeboxes of empty books and I treat it as a little stockpile. so when i want a new book- rather than "oh which one did i buy most recently-?" the question becomes: "which book am i most excited to use right now?
🤣🤣🤣 can't wait for that!!! I'm approaching that sort of thing in a video idea I have for next month. I'm gonna create a book for EXCLUSIVELY video ideas and tell a story about it. Should be a good one
I TOTALLY understand wanting to use them in the order of whenyiu got them. I think it's an OCD tendency. My best idea of a solution is to use your Pen and Gear as EDC but use Field Notes as a journal so you can use both at the same time. With that being said, welcome to the Field Notes family 🎉🎊🥳 I knew you would join us eventually 😂 Btw I don't necessarily think the cost of the Field Notes is due to the name of the brand but its due to Field Notes being made in America. Things that are made in America cost more.
I didn't think about them being made in America as a factor in the pricing. That's probably got some truth to it especially when you order them from outside of the country. It'd be great to live in Chicago so you could just go pick your orders up instead of having to pay shipping🤣
@@GareTheBearyou’d be surprised. I have 3 main different topics. By having one book for each - and an additional catch all - I can really focus on the topics and the information is easier to find.
Go on, my distant friend, don't stop. The topic of notes, notebooks and pens is not exhaustive, and therefore create my friend, and there are countless themes for your videos and you will definitely find them
My gateway to pocket notebooks was Moleskine but I switched to Field notes and I adore them so much. Did you know you can get left-hand Field Notes? Might make it more comfortable for you to write.
You should totally switch, I understand that feeling of wanting to use them in the order you bought them but if you do that then you’ll want to use the other quicker and the point is to enjoy writing in them, so used the ones you want!
Great content, as always! I need some advice: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Hi Gare, Have you ever try log+jotter? I haven't had a chance to use it yet but I feel more impressed by their cover design than field notes. Hope you can make a review.
I haven't tried their books, but I've been recommended them a lot even just in this video's comment section alone. I'll have to reach out to them to see if they can send me a pack to make a review for you guys!
@@GareTheBear I came across this brand while I binge watching videos about pocket notebooks and I immediately thought about you review them🤣 btw, I recommend the Muji pocket notebook, it's really minimalistic and the paper quality is extremely good!
You entered into official stationary Nerd-hood when you said… irrational struggle… welcome to the club 😂 We’re all a little crazy here 😂
Love being a part of this club🤣 I've loved stationery for the longest time, and Field Notes has just amplified that for me

Great way to look at it! I'd have a fit if I threw away my writings, but I get where you're coming from, and it sounds like good practice!

If you don't mind the $5.00 a month subscription. Log and Jotter is a good deal.
Interesting! I've been really enjoying field notes. I have also heard a lot of good about log and jotter. It might be worth a try one day!
Cheaper than the field notes subscription! Not sure what the differences are tho as far as what you get
Log + Jotter has the option of a really nice dot grid design! Def recommend!

100%! Can't have rules like that. I've been learning that as well. We get in our own way so much with stuff like that
sometimes you gotta switch it up to keep things fresh
1000%!!!
I share that “in order” struggle. I make myself crazy sometimes. I have made some strides this year.
That's good that you've improved! I'm working that direction myself. Best of luck

You are definitely not the only one struggling with this! I hot some rite in the rain notebooks but can't start it bc I have all these others first! 🥴
Gotta let yourself use the ones you want! It's hard, but you can do it!
@GareTheBear so true!!! Now it's a matter of finishing this pocket notebook first 🤣 I'm halfway there!
Way to go!!!

@GareTheBear Lmao yeah that would be nice 😂
Very relatable. You could alternate to keep the guilt at a low, and still get to experience the new shiny?
I very well could! Right this second I'm gonna stick to the Field Notes and then probably when I run out either get more, or switch back to P+G🤣
As Arnold said:
You'll be back.......
Good one!😅
🤣🤣🤣
Creativity tends to break laws. Maybe skip the order 😉
Bruh frrrr I gotta trust it. I feel so much more creative now that I'm writing in the book I want to write in
How about using different books for different topics?
I've considered that, but I feel I'd spread myself too thin and it wouldn't be as fun to write
