Had this hardwire fitted by my Skoda dealer,really appreciate this tutorial,I think trying to sort out the technology on my car has frazzled what's left of my brain.I think the best thing to do is have a lie down and get my son to watch this video and he can set it up. Your a good man 😅

The reason tje footage looks so bad is because the dash cam makes 2 of the same files, one is high resolution and one is low res. This is for WiFi transfers to your device. If you want the full quality I recommend taking the sd card out and watching the full res videos with your computer

@@andwelovearpsychopat7820 remove the micro SD card and put it into a micro sd to sd adapter, this usually comes with a micro sd card, put that in your computers sd card slot or for newer macbooks you need an sd card dongle and thats it
yes I have the adapter, but I will need a MacBook thunder bolt thingy, its my birthday coming up someone can get me it.

Yes the app is not the best but do you really need it. I would just remove the card to copy the files myself.

Got and set my own up today. Put a 128gb High speed sd card in it. designed for 4k recording. accepts it fine and stores video and pictures and the computer can access it through the cam. So you arent limited in size to 32.
i realise you may have been returning this dashcam to halford`s for a refund, but by leaving the protective screen on the REAR of the camera, this prevented the capacitive buttons on the rear of the camera from working correctly, hence "some" viewers may have thought that because the buttons were not responding correctly, this could have put them off a potential purchase of this item, would it not have been easier to have removed the screen protector, shot your video and then replaced it?

My SD card says it is full but there is only a 500mb video on there (32GB card) there is footage i need to look at but again there is only on video on there that was recorded days ago... please help! :/

Why is it that my 322gw freezes most mornings
I use a nextbase in my work van,not sure on the model.Do you know if you can retrieve the audio if it hasn't been recording?
if it's on mute then It doesn't record audio at all so no it can't be played back after.
Im undecided on getting this camera or the garmin
Its better to point the camera little bit downwards, so there is less sky in the scene. Its the same as if you look towards a bright object, it would be hard to see ehats next to it.
And then, if a crash happens it will happen in within the close distance where the number plate will be perfectly visible.
Bought the same dash cam not long ago and I have no issues with it reading the number plates from the distance where you mentioned its hard. Just try adjusting the angle of the camera, as its less likely that a plane would crash into you :))

Does the 522GW unclip from the window mount the same way please. Had one factory fitted on a new car & not sure how to remove it ..
Yes all the 22 series should have a magnetic mount system.

Got this about 2 months ago awaiting a replacement keeps freezing and turning off even when using nextbase sd card. Hope replacement works coz when it does work its good
Yeah I have to reset the camera more often than I want to, pretty disappointed with it.
Mine does the same just get your money back as the company charge you for postage after 1 year . And if you buy from halfords and don’t get it installed with them they are not going to help you . I have been having this trouble .
Evidently this camera records in high resolution but initial downloads are low res for speed like you demonstrated. If you want to use it, it can be downloaded high resolution (not mentioned) but this takes a while longer but the quality is very good.
The bloke in Halfords set mine up, I didn't realise till I got home Nextbase recommend initial 2 hours charging hense the additional usb cable.
Having just bought this camera and watching different reviews. I note you haven't mentioned anything about suitable memory cards. My bit of playing with it and I have noticed the recording actually freezes after a few minutes. My card says 32gb U3, one assumes this isn't fast enough. I dare say experimenting with different speed cards will cure this.
Which dashcam would you recommend for best quality downloads and that can read number plates better?
622gw is the best regards to quality footage if you want to view it tho your best bet is to put the sd card in a pc as trying to view it on the app takes a very long time due to it being 4k.
How does the g sensor actually work have one of these looking to set it up . Does it detect movement or just if someone hits your car. ?
just if someone hits the car.
you can set it to time laps for longer recording when parked.
does it have timelapse?
Hello there how do you record video continuously for long period of time in a single file (12 hrs driving) ? It says video length is max 3 mins that means it will be multiple videos right
Yes lots of 3 minute video's one after another.
All the dash cams I’ve had, operate in the same way, ie short clips. I use a go-pro for long recordings
This was on QVC today's special value about two years ago. Just opened it. I know there's better ones now. Also warranty run out. Oh well

yes it just plugs into the 12v scocket and sucker or sticker to attach it to the windscreen.👍
@@MADMODS great thanks. Why does Halfords charge quite a lot for installation then I mean do you know what the difference is?
it's a hard wire install so no cables showing and wired into your fuse box leaving the 12v scocket free and camera always recording.

Can I put 128g SD card ?
What method did you use to take the video from the memory card? I,m guessing bluetooth or wifi? I would also question if you actually had it in 1080p as I have just watched another video where the quality is a million times better than this. And yes it was the same dash cam.
I took the memory card out of the dash cam and uploaded the footage. It was definitely recorded in 1080p.
Are you sure you didn't copy the low quality file from the memory card as by default there are 2 versions of each file. I did this when I first got my 522GW and only realised afterwards. Your footage looks exactly like the low quality version looked on mine.

What is the battery life on these? Do I need to have it plugged in the whole time? I'd hate to have a giant cord hanging down the entire time. I've recently bought a new car and wouldn't be sure how to hide the cord on my own
Thay dont last long at all.
You can get it hard wired form most car audio shops or have a go yourself.

@@shevchenko7cfc941 dude, 3m command clips can hold the wire along your frame, down the door frame, and under the glove box to your lighter
It’s really easy to hide the wires, there’s even a tool supplied to help move the trim so you can push the wire in. I bought the rear view camera as well and it all went really well and I’m bloody clueless as I’ve never installed a dash cam before 👍🏻
How do you format the new screen card?
put it in the camra go to video settings and find format sd card tap on that a few seconds later it will be formatted.
I suggest getting a better quality memory card
Is it possible to automatically back up videos daily without needing to take the camera out of the car?
if you remove the sd card every day and copy the files yes. but not automatically.

no any memory card will be fine up to a 32gb but get a good card as this is the most important part in retrieving your footage in the case of a accident.

no it's not a tracking device.
the gps is just for speed and location on the video footage.

only the high end units have built in telematics.
you will probably have to pay a contract for it but you will be able to remote view the camera and its location.

Great video but that app looks buggy as hell, lags like AOL in the 90's
If you've got a good photo suite on your PC , I use Adobe Photoshop, you can enhance anything that you record , in the event of ( touch wood you don't ) have an accident any good photo shop will make a dvd for you , what's £50 if your in a £20k car

no has nothing to do with your phone and data. the app just connects to your phone and camra for video viewing, and set up.

Our won't even turn on. Brand new, Charged as suggested in the box.
Problem is to much sky under exposing image .
Note. The GPS co ordinates do not appear on the screen while driving. They are recorded but only appear when you are playing the video back. Bummer.
I bought one. Can't figure it out. Taking it back. Such a giant waste of time. And very aggravating. Why can't they make easy dash cams to use?
Get yourself a decent GPU , mines 4k lol,,I'll upload one off my 322GW with the NB 128gb SD card ,no enhancing , I'll record my pc screen too , it's like The Exorcist remastered 😆😆😆

I advise people not to get it and just put the sd card in a pc to view the footage recorded. it's much easier that way.

Can you mute thie shit? This camera is horrible design. It sticks to your glass so it can not be removed. It also screams every time you turn on and off the car. Just half a star at best.
It comes with both to either stick or use the suction pad
Just un clip the sticky part and add the suction pad
