Thank you! Does this dash camp start running automatically when you start the vehicle and shut off automatically when you turn off the vehicle? Also does it have like a continuous video loop where it erases old video while recording new video?
Hi Duncan. If you can help, I have a question for you: my wife has just bought a new car with the 322GW dash cam installed. When the camera is coming to the end of its recording cycle, I’ve noticed that that the padlock symbol appears with a countdown. Does this mean that once the countdown reaches zero, all the recorded images are then erased or does the camera start to over-write what has previously been recorded?
By default it does over write once the SD card is full, not sure what that symbol means prob best if you download the manual and take a look, I dont know to be honest on that one.

I haven't yet found out what the symbol means (I didn't ask) but my wife did get a reply from J*** at Nextbase telling her that the camera starts to overwrite the video from the beginning. I think that should be another star for Nextbase, a company that does respond to customer's questions.
I think it saves the recording it is currently making, Ive only used that option a few times when I first installed it. But its still installed and working.

Yes it starts when engine starts and stops when turned off and yes it over writes the old video once the memory card is full

Very informative thank you! When you press the red button in the event of an accident does it only save the file immediately before?
