Hi this looks good. But did u attach it to the wall in anyway? I was thinking of making a box but tiling onto it and having it stuck to wall with no nails maybe .but not sure if good idea in case ever need access...
Yes I used magnetic catches to fix it to the wall so it easily pulls away for access. If you search magnetic cupboard catches on google you’ll see what they are - you can pick these up in all diy stores. They are in two parts so there is a larger plastic section that fits to the inside rear of the box then a small metal strip that attaches to the wall. I actually superglued these onto the tile rather than screwing because they are so small and I’d recommend using at least 4 in total to hold the weight as it may tip forward if loaded with spices! Hope this helps ☺️
You did a great job! I have just had boiler moved into my kitchen and will try all your ideas. Good idea about magnets, I was just going to let it sit in position but was worried it would get knocked over so I'll def get some magnets. Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
Thank you, i want to make a cover for nasty pipe's on top of my boiler & you have given me confidence & great tip's, i'm a woman in my 60's so thank's again. Also like the idea of magnet attatchment 👍👍
Nice video, noticed you have the same spice racks as me and then even the same kitchen cabinets and handles, and also a Worcester and Bosch boiler with the same unsightly pipes problem underneath! Nice idea about fitting the spice racks there: I think I'll do that too!
I got a similar cover made, but mine has the boiler programmer attached. I may make it another one that's a bit bigger, then I'd have space for two of the Ikea shelves. What a brilliant 💡 idea! Really admire you doing all the work yourself, you made it look so easy 🙂 xx
Thank you Trudy, I no longer have this kitchen and miss the spice rack! It really was a useful little addition! It was really easy to do so definitely have a go yourself ☺️ x
Fantastic idea! Well done! I must get hold of some Ikea spice racks, as they are useful for all sorts of things! Kind regards from Penny in Liverpool 🇬🇧😊
Hi Penny! I love these racks they are so versatile! I’ve picked up another that I’m going to try and use for another form of storage in one of the cupboards I think! Welcome to the channel 😊
Great idea, I have the same ugly problem. But can I just ask you about ventilation - is there any? and, does the wood need to be fire retardant? Thanks 🙏🙏
Hey - it’s from Screwfix - they still stock them it was £21.99. It’s really not bad you know for the price and good for smaller little jobs. Mine lost one of the plastic feet so it wobbles a bit which is a pain but overall it’s pretty good and folds flat to store away!
A cracking job, good skills! (H and S, though, sorry for lecturing, look after yourself, maybe wear goggles, ear defs, hairnet and a mask when cutting items)
You’ve got to be having a laugh with this one, imagine the carnage of there is any problem with the boiler piping connections … that patching and plastering is a sight to behold too.
Carnage in what way ? It pulls away for access to pipes and not fixed to the wall 🤷🏻♀️ admittedly the wall behind was shocking but the tiling over was spot on - check out the finished kitchen

@@LauraDoesLife ah thats a great idea never even thought of that. Thanks
Good solution to use magnetic cupboard catches and the cupboard can be removed in case of the need.
What a brilliant idea... I've got same problem, so going to have at what you have done...well done hun
Genius hack. I was having the same issue. Getting kitchen renovated and didn’t know what to do with boiler pipes. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Peter 😊 it really looked great in the kitchen much better than the pipes definitely give it a go! X
I had this same problem I never thought you could use a thicker bit of wood on the insde to make the corners!

When beauty and talent combine..❤️
Great idea! Thanks very much
You’re very welcome 😊
You're much better at DIY than me.
The heat from the boiler will fuck up at least that top row...and the jars should be in a dark cupboard...or painted.
Beautiful you and the box👍
Hi Laura, hope you’re well. What workbench are you using, any good? Looking to get my first one. Thanks
Good job in finishing!

She should put a t-shirt less light than that to work

@@LauraDoesLife . Well if it’s not fixed it’s going to fall over, still if you happy with it that’s what’s important!
