    I've got this pattern, but not made it yet. It's now going to be next on my list. I find an easier way to gather stitches is to use a zig zag stitch, running a piece of 4ply yarn through the centre. Then pull on the yarn to gather. I don't find it as fiddly as pulling on two threads. X

    Thank you so much for your tutorial. I am new at sewing and your step by step instructions help me to "read" and understand the sewing patterns so much better. Thank you once again.

    I have had this pattern over 6 months, and the same fabric, to make for my up- coming holiday. Another great video that I will refer to. Thank you. 😊

    Thank you for a great video. Is there a video how to do the pleated skirt style A and B please I don't know how to stitch the bottom of the pleat?

    • @KarenMcNeil-en2fn
      @KarenMcNeil-en2fn 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi. I've made the pleat style. Not sure what you mean on sewing bottom of pleat? You sew across the top of the pleat to baste then when you sew to bodice it's held together

    • @AnnieSuzie
      @AnnieSuzie 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@KarenMcNeil-en2fn you have to make the pleat between between 2 markings, anyway I've made it now, as you say you catch the top of it in with the bodice. Never mind!

    If I were to add a third skirt piece to make a full-length dress, what do you think the width of that should be? Thanks for the step-by-step instructions.

    • @MassonLifestyle
      @MassonLifestyle ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want to add a 3rd tier multiply by 1.5 to the width measurement of the 2nd tier. that will give you the width of the third tier. Don't forget you have to add 5/8” (1.5cm) or desired seam allowance to the width measurements. Let's say you wanted to do a fourth tier... then take the width measurement of the 3rd tier and again multiply it by 1.5 times and that would give you the width of the fourth tier. Hope this helps, if you have any questions let us know. Happy to help.

    Excuse if this is a silly question how do you know how much to pull in the gathers ? I am trying to make this now as a newbie

    • @MassonLifestyle
      @MassonLifestyle ปีที่แล้ว

      Not a silly question at all! There are notches on the tiers however with that being said, as long as your gathers are evenly distributed you should be ok. You just want to make sure that the gathers are not all bunched up on one side or another but that they are evenly distributed in each tier all the way around. Especially since that last tier is three panels vs. two. You can't quite go by matching the side seams... you have to just make sure that it's all evenly distributed all around and that you don't have a big gap in fabric when you try matching up the bottom of the 2nd tier to the gathered 3rd tier. Hope that helps. If you have any questions please let us know.

    No not true not showing how too sew this dress properly you should be showing every detail as to showing how the neckline is sewn not sew off camera then iron then camera on afterwards beginners sewers don’t see it properly as a professional dressmaker don’t skip overlock and nip cuttings too any garment makes it confusing should show step by step instructions and different machines your using such as overlocker and sewing machine so forth
