Mike the orange tube you picked up is for holding welding rods and keeping them dry away from moisture. Remember the O-ring below the threads on the top. That seals out any moisture.

The banana doughnuts are for electric magnets. You wrap copper wire around them and then apply voltage to the wire, which will cause it to be a magnet and a very strong one at that.

Great score on the grey shelving! Used to sell industrial storage solutions and you were spot on with it being heavy duty. You’ll need a the cross braces to connect the T-post, shelf clips and you’ll be in business!
We had a load of scrap today from a house clearance we did, the scrapman we called wanted paying to come get it too. 🤣🤣🤣 he got told to get lost. he'd make so much from weighing it in. plenty of others that'll take it for free & make their money that way.
