Hey everyone, welcome to the first video of a new series I'm doing on my channel. Rather than just upload random unused videos, it'll all be categorized under What Was Cut? This was a series I had in mind way back in the 2012 - 2014 era, I even did a test run of this series on my first channel but then life struck. Anywho, any future unused content videos will now be apart of "What Was Cut" series. Thanks for being here!
NOTE There's a lot of unused content in this game and although this video does go over a majority of it. It obviously doesn't cover everything. I may make a part 2 if there's enough interest. Like I said in the video, this would have been out like 3 or 4 weeks ago but I got terribly sick. I couldn't speak, breathe out my nose, nor did I have a lot of energy. I was down for the count lol but I'm feeling much better now!

A few things of note: The Ice-cream truck and other Cellphone cars CAN be used in the vanilla game if you get 100% which gives access to the All Vehicles cheat which lets you press L or R when in a phone booth to access a menu that lets you drive any vehicle including a few unused or mission NPC only ones along with any of the level specific secret vehicles as well which is why you can see Homer in level 1 driving the Monster Truck from Level 5 through the RV park in the game demo. Also the ghost children voices that were played can be heard when standing around the playground near the Simpsons house or the School.
Correction: The ghost voices are only heard in Level 7 at those playgrounds.

Can't forget about the (thankfully) cut timer from the level 5 mission Kwik Cash that had you try to destroy the armored truck within 3 minutes using the Bandit
Those Lisa lines are totally used, I swear I’ve heard them, maybe they’re just from an episode, or maybe they’re reused from Road Rage and I heard them there.
They're used in the Xbox version, but I'm not sure about other platforms. I can't remember if it's when you're playing as Lisa or if it's when you're another character while using Lisa's car with her in the driver seat. For those reading this reply and might be unaware, sometimes the player is driving cars in the passanger seat with a NPC in the driver seat and is just talking... to this day I don't know why the developers did some cars like this for some levels.
@@LostMyR8 not sure if it's true but i heard someone say a character will only show up in their own car if they're NOT already in that level as an NPC somewhere. for example, professor frink won't show up in the hover car in apu's level as he's always on the map as an NPC (i think), but maybe in marge's level he's in the hover car as he's not on that map.
I have the pc and gamecube version and I swear ive heard them used
Speedrunner of the game here, I can 100% confirm these lines ARE in the game. Maybe he just meant specifically for the triggers of Lisa being hit by a car outside of her vehicle, either way everyone here is not having a false memory.
@@LostMyR8 yeah pretty sure you're right. I was playing this game on PS2 yesterday and I'm sure I heard them playing through the marge levels with Lisa's car

The graphics of this game are so timeless, perfect blend of cartoon simplicity and classic angularity
I wonder if they made the baby van mega Strong to make sure the player doesn't see a van full of babies explode during the mission
I really want a steam release on this game RIGHT NOW to relive my childhood again
i still own ps2 and ps2 version of game and to this day base ps2 has never had issues and never overheated and not been cleaned for 10 year or more unlike ps4 i got which just loves to over heat and not play for long for games it seems. point is older consoles was built more like tanks it seems

Fun fact; the red brick car also exists as a cheat code in crash tag team racing too, a game also made by radical using the same game engine, they used this engine and improved it as they made newer games, even crash of the titans and mind over mutant uses the shar engine.
That explains the coin sound being identical too
And Simpsons Road Rage.

I love tag team racing, I had no idea they used the same engine, but now it makes sense since that game also has a car section and an exploration section.

I love this video and I’m so happy that the cut content was covered again. Nothing new hardly was found for a while, but things do pop up here and there. But having yearly refreshers of this amazing game is something special so thanks for keeping this games spirit alive! You also explained it more in depth than some others!

Yeah. The last 4 missions is just the same mission because they ran out of time. You should watch a video reading the comments in the code. It's hilarious lmao.

At 20:30, I think these lines can be heard in the school playground? I'm unsure though, it's been a while. They might just be similar. Some of the unused lines were definitely used though, the Lisa lines especially.

It'd be interesting so see this kind of thing done for other gamecube games since TCRF can be a bit straining to read through, many documentation videos have been removed or privated, and most other TH-camrs just read off from TCRF

the two lisa ones get played all the time when i drive her car around with her in it. soo.,.....like her two "unused voice lines" are literally two of her most used voice lines in the whole game when you play as her lmao. she'll kick someone and say those lines.
the VC for Agnes also voices Mother in Futurama! I am very surprised to learn this.
You missed the two tracks which are played in level 7 where the stonecutters tunel and Burns mansion would be. That also means it was planned to use the ful map for this level.
the cube van i remember seeing in the multiplayer race minigame as one of the randomly assigned vehicles for NPCs to use

In regards to the Audi TT, maybe it was there because the devs initially thought of incorporating real life vehicle brands? Whether this would’ve been via product placement or for no reason is difficult to say, but it’s fun to speculate.
The two voicelines for Lisa are also voicelines used elsewhere because I know I've heard those voicelines before.

7:16 I like how of all vehicles to go unused, an ordinary sedan, literally one of the most common vehicles known to man, the thing you think of when you think of a "car", is what ends up on the cutting room floor lol. What an idiotic decision on Radical's part.
How many generic cars are there in the early levels?

I'm pretty sure Lisa's unused voice lines can be heard when you play as her and get/almost get hit buy a story mission car hard to do but if you fuck about enough it should be able to be done
Were these changes done for the pc version or was it the console versions as well, just wondering as I've only played the gamecube one.
I swear I've heard the assault line from lisa when hitting with a car or something. Although id have played the PAL version in the UK. Could this be the difference? Or am i completely just thinking ive heard it and actually haven't? Haha

There has weirdly been a massive influx of Hit & Run content. I welcome it, the more eyes on this game again the higher chances of a remaster. But I doubt it since this game is tied up in a whole web of legal stuff.
I think it would be nice if the Bumblebee Man's theme played every time you spawned his car using phone booth. It will be not as annoying.

If you 100% the game and do the unlock everything cheat, you can access the secret cars like the cell phone sedans by pressing L2, L1, R1, and R2, in the phone Booth
I remember Lisa that is assault line being in the game at least on the GameCube version I had.
It was in the PS2 as well.

cut content could been due to lack of space at time/era and they didnt want to upset people maybe i assume also for some of content but some of cut content is pretty dope like ghost bullys sound which was never added because might scare kids maybe.
Those ghost sounds would have terrified me as a shorty lol. Especially if it was to be played randomly.
I heard a lot of information like this before and the actual developers came out and straight up said that none of it was true. It was not true 20 years ago and its not true now. Why people blatantly lie is unknown.
