An important factor in Condor's long-haul success is being able to take advantage of Lufthansa's carrier network which connects the entire continent to Frankfurt. This (along with the business model) then allows Condor to offer cheaper flights to niche or leisure destinations from Frankfurt. As the only long-haul competitor to Lufthansa left in Germany, being able to offer routes Lufthansa wouldn't be able to fly profitably is a good strategy to secure the company's future in this heavy competition.
Condor actually started off as a Lufthansa subsidiary, kind of what Eurowings is today. This history in part explains Condor's access to the Lufthansa network.
They have disputes now with Lufthansa. So now they’re starting to expand into domestic flights and non-leisure routes. Initial New destinations are Prague, Zurich, Vienna, Milan, Rome, and domestic flights from Frankfurt to Berlin, Hamburg, and Munich. Berlin also hosts a flight to Dubai. Maybe it’s time to start a stand alone frequent flyer program? They use Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan as of now.
There is a reason for the stripes. The stripes represent those found on German beaches on beach towels, beach chairs and beach umbrellas. Very clever marketing, Condor.
I've never flown with Condor, but as an 'outsider' I think they do very well, and have a good product to offer. The interior looks very nice (A 330-900) and efficient. It took some time for me to get used to their new colour scheme, but I like it more and more! You can't miss it! It's finally something different in the world of aviation. Good luck Condor, wish you all the best!
My family and I had been on several Condor flights . One of the 1st once for my wife and me had been a flight to Funchal/Madeira in an B737-200 back in Feb. 1986. The fun part with that flight was the alternate approach from the west. I'm still smileing when thinking about that remarkable landing. Another flight worth remembering was one of the 1st flight of the B757-300 to Heraklion/Crete in the late 1990th. The plane had a few hours only on its clock.
I flew with Condor FRA-ANC when returning home to Alaska after studying abroad in Switzerland. My original flight was canceled due to mx but I will say I had never and still have not had a more efficient, seamless, and faster time with any other airline rebooking than I did at FRA. My flight the next day actually flew. The cabin crew were very polite, respectful, and friendly, the food was actually good, and FRA-ANC is roughly a 10 hour flight, nearly matching the 10 hour time difference between Germany and Alaska which was great because we lost no time. Even with my first flight being canceled I have no hesitation giving Condor 10/10.
I flew Condor several times between Germany and various places across the Americas as a backpacker during the 2010s. It was amazing for how cheap you could buy one-way flex tickets with them. Nobody had a comparable fare system and no one else offered an affordable premium economy option at the time. Their fleet renewal programme was really necessary however. Their ancient 767 interior was not even acceptable anymore by low-cost airline standards (and the operational cost must have really hurt them). I am happy so see that they now went for a well-rounded cabine product for their new long-haul fleet. I think this really hits the mark with their customer segment. Also chapeau for the livery. It's a bit strange at first look, but it seems to be perceived as iconic by many already and their international recognition has skyrocketed since they introduced it.
I always had the impression that Condor was initially the charter , low cost arm of Lufthansa making use of mildly reliveried aircraft such as the DC-10-30s .
We used to fly Condor regularly... but our distain for the Frankfurt airport has nudged us toward paying a bit more and using Amsterdam as our clutch location since we like Schiphol much, much more. However, recent increases in airport fee's there might start making it cost prohibitive and we might have to reconsider the torture of the Frankfurt Airport again. The airline was okay, legroom was bad... but I heard encouraging stuff about the new aircraft in that department.
I love seeing their planes overhead, brings me joy to see an interesting livery amongst a sea of boring, abstract, cowardly competitors. The first time I saw one, I was so intrigued, I immediately opened FR24 on my phone to see who the heck the operator was. My partner was not so excited, just saying "I guess it's cool..." lol.
I don't think the new livery is the most beautiful one but I definitely like, how it stands out from the "eurowhite" that's gotten all to common among airlines today. And it's super recognisable. I stood in Seattle the other day and it took me less than a second to recognise a Condor A330 in low clouds passing over the city centre :D
I'm not a fan of the livery or interior, they have black and white striped theming and they give you striped pajamas making you look like a prisoner lol otherwise not bad service and offerings
Not using an airline because of a livery is the most ridiculous argument there is. Stop. It's not an argument at all. It's just a sign of stupidity. So you don't seem to be the smartest.

Don't they have a kind of dispute between them right know?
Overall Condor needs Lufthansa that's for sure.
Condor actually started off as a Lufthansa subsidiary, kind of what Eurowings is today. This history in part explains Condor's access to the Lufthansa network.
There is also LH owned "Eurowings Discover".
@@trazkey They've had said dispute basically forever, Lufthansa really hates being forced to work as Condor's feeder route.

At first, I despised the look of it and now I’m loving it so much ! Had a great flight experience with them
They are a great airlines. Compared to Lufthansa these days anyway lol
I'm just like you but I haven't come to love the livery and I've never flown with Condor
The livery is absolute trash
If there were air-worms I imagine they would look like that
I flew Condor from Toronto in September, I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a great product and I would 100% fly with them again!

Their strip livery makes their fleet standout.
That I think might be the point .
"stand out", not "standout".

Seems like an airline which would benefit from A321LR/XLR, flexibility with passenger numbers while having low maintenance costs

I love how it makes a big effect to say non English words as native as possible.
The livery makes Condor recognizable at almost any conditions and lighting situations instantly. Very clever!
Condor is just the best, flew 3 days ago in business from Bangkok to Frankfurt with them
I always had the impression that Condor was initially the charter , low cost arm of Lufthansa making use of mildly reliveried aircraft such as the DC-10-30s .
It was the "travel" airline from Lufthansa but they sold Condor a while ago and Lufthansa has now Discover Airlines in that role
The A321LXR would be perfect for Condor
No
I have flown their new business class and it's one of the best seat i've taken.

As a Canadian, I had no idea that Condor had been flying regularly to Whitehorse. Very interesting. Still don't like those new liveries, though.
1:28: The way he tries to say some of the cities as German as he can but then say "Munich" normally instead of "München" baffles me.😅
You forgot Anchorage (ANC) on your route map
A better comparison would have been Eurowings / Discover, rather than ryanair
Where was Condor when the westfold fell?
I don't care what others say about their livery! I personally really like it.

Anyone else see the 7700 squawking Condor A330 on Flightradar today? Scary stuff
They turned of one engine mid flight, because of problems with it
Seeing Condor livery.......imagine a yummy Candy
thats not good, fatty
And then what?

It's a good thing airliners are inanimate objects.... they can't be embarrassed at being made to wear silly stripes.
The livery is certainly eye catching
🎉🎉🎉🎉
❤
I wouldn't call it low cost, at least not the premium product
Prison aircrafts ? 🤣
Condor fleet looks as if its been designed by a cartoonist.
The planes look like a deadly coral snake. Hhhhiiissss!
Boldly HORRIBLE livery!
Garish livery…sorry, but they’re painful to look at
you are old an boring... so it does not fit to you.
I'm not a fan of the livery or interior, they have black and white striped theming and they give you striped pajamas making you look like a prisoner lol otherwise not bad service and offerings
The Livery is for modern and open-minded people who can think outside the box. Boring, conservative people like you are not the target group either
@@gerhardma4687 like I said not a fan of the plane livery, the seats, and entertainment and service is excellent

i will never fly in it

It's "transition", not "trancision". So trahn-zeeh-shin, not trahn-seeh-zhin.
Hate Condor, only had bad experiences with them. Rude crew, bad comfort, and even worse ground personnel
at least the 757 was ok?
For me it's exactly the opposite, but you seem to be one of the passengers that the crews don't like. As you call into the forest, so it echoes back.
