Thank you for taking economy. This is the main reason I am watching your channel. Unfortunately many other creators lost a sense for reality, not relevant for 90% of travellers.
I fly this route a lot because I live in the US and have friends in Germany, ever since Condor switched to this new plane I don't even bother with Lufthansa anymore.
Did you know: some of Condor's Airbus A330neos are initially ordered by AirAsia X and Garuda Indonesia, but they cancel or postpone their orders, so those planes are taken over by Condor (with MSN 1950+) for MSN more than 2000 is ordered by Condor themselves (D-ANRJ with MSN 2033)
Because they did a good job. It was "shocking" for some at first but breaking away from the dull Eurowhite of every other cookie-cutter livery was just the ticket. Now everyone knows Condor and I would fly them in a heartbeat since I know they exist!
I love it. It’s unique and colorful. It also gets people talking. I guarantee a lot of people only heard about Condor as a result of their color scheme. Good or bad, word of mouth is very important.
I love this detail description of such historic airlines. It adds extra value to the trip report and is equally informative for fellow avgeek. Simply aviation is truly my go to channel before deciding to buy a plane ticket for any airline to view their product and services. ❤️❤️
Fantastic video. You bring a real refined and confident side to flight reviews that I can't find a lot of the time. I don't want someone yapping away about a business class seat I'll never sit in, but I also want someone interesting who will tell me what I need to know! Just like my guy Alex. Keep it up!
Nice video. I have been watching you for the last 7 years and I have never seen your video posted 3 minutes ago. Wish you all the best for future years.
Another great trip report David. I love the interior of the aircraft. I also love Condor's livery! 😃 Overall a good flight and service. I would be happy to fly with them.😉

I really hope they'll take over old 4Y/LH routes in Düsseldorf and certainly see potential in them serving long-haul from DUS. Especially DUS-JFK and similar more traditional routes, though they'll serve that one in September/October again.
@@digga29048 check on the DUS airport site. They will, although it can't be booked through Condor's sites but like with many of the seasonal long-haul services from Düsseldorf, these flights can only be booked at tour operators and/or in travel packages. Obviously not something a business traveller would want, or in the case of DUS-LRM and such, people wanting to visit their families or go onboard a cruise booked separately. What I personally hope from the DUS-JFK route is, that Condor will see what potential the route has.
VERY COOL seeing this - I look forward to the next episode of Condor! I'm so pleased to see their revamp after the pre-covid events.... Their flights to and from Seattle, Los Angeles, etc., fly over my location about 80% of the time, so I have gotten to see their new livery from down below lots! I believe, the 1st seasonal visit with their new livery, was just at C-YYC this past week, but I wasn't present for it. I can't wait to see one up close - and now I know what a portion of it is like inside.
Thank you for this honest review. The primary reason why I watch your channel(& Alex's as wells) are for this direct no frills economy class reviews. Love the integrity & superb journalism!
We did this plane Frankfurt - Mauritius and back, and Frankfurt - Male and back, and we love it. Love the leg space, 4 k screen, and ambient lighting. For the new trip we will again try to book Condor
Thank you for the video, i was just watching other videos posted by you and thinking when you will be posting,. I just went on the youtube homepage and saw your video first in the list. Also I love the brutally honest series.
Flew lately from YYZ-FRA on their A330neo on Business, which was one of the best flights I ever had. Very comfy and quiet plane, excellent catering and very nice crew. Would always fly with them again.
Thank you for the effort to make great content about aviation like this! As someone who loves airplanes and aviation in general it's really refreshing having content like this! The fact that you take economy to really show how the product really is, is pretty cool
Pleasantly surprised by the video. Being based in YYZ, I really don't see them too often as that's a seasonal route for them, but would love to fly aboard Condor one day (along with Lufthansa mainline).
Excellent review! I live in San Antonio and they just started direct flights to Frankfurt not too long ago....I may book one this weekend to fly out later in the week to explore. The pricing is awesome! I need this review to make sure it wasn't going to be like a German version of Spirit or Frontier Airlines haha
I grew to like Condor over the years as they are THE leisure airline when you fly from Frankfurt (which is my home airport). Discover Airline (Condors step sister company if you will, being a new leisure line founded by Lufthansa) is also quite good here, but I didn't fly with them for about 2 years, so I can't give any new opinions. I flew Premium Economy to La Romana back in January. It was quite comfy, but it's still a 10 hour flight. Premium Economy actually gives you a menu option, I remember that much. And it wasn't really that expensiv either, I think 150 Euros per flight (or 300 overall), which was not that bad given that you also have more luggage included.
Honestly, I believe that it's okay that the alcoholic beverages and special drinks like Red Bull are not included, so they can offer a lower ticket price and only those have to pay for it, who wants to drink these kinds of treats.
Up here in the nordics the collapse of Thomas Cook was quite a big deal - they were a rather popular leisure travel option. The usual panic set in. But besides the people who had booked right during the collapse not much happened. One year we flew Thomas Cook, and the next we flew SunClass Airlines on the same aircraft and same route as we had on Thomas Cook the year before.
I definitely like the new entertainment system! Looks to be really snappy and also modern! Unlike some older systems that can be slow and look a little bit outdated
Great video! To make some argument for the somewhat mediocre meal you have been served, I have recently pre-booked a Red Thai Curry for a return flight with Condor. The curry was the best I have ever eaten in the air given airline meal circumstances but even triumphed many I have eaten on the ground and the price of ~ €10 was amazing. It was a medium haul flight to a European vacation destination so I don’t know whether the option to pre-book meals are available on long haul flights.
Taking my first flight with them in a few days, hope their flight is better than their useless app and website. Their customer service is beyond pathetic!
Idk how i feel about the outer livery but how they incorporated it into the interior design is flawless and chic. This is what I was expecting with Air Franc's Joon - aesthetic and modern with flexible fares to appeal to younger passengers.
Cabin looks very nice and inviting. Free food is limited, but like you said, you can always order from the buy-on-board menu. That said, Lufthansa needs to go back to the drawing board.
I thought KLM Asia didn’t exist anymore and it’s just these liveries that are still in service. I looked it up a few years ago because I spotted these planes quite a lot at Schiphol and wanted to know the story behind it.
They really need to improve their website. I found it impossible to add a cabin bag to my economy light booking and had to call up customer service to arrange that and the weight limit of 8kg is laughably small. The checkin process also needs some work. It took me several tries to get a boarding pass on my outbound flight and I was only able to get a boarding pass for 1 leg of my booking on my inbound flight. I had to find a gate agent in Frankfurt to print out a boarding pass for my next leg and they did it but complained they weren’t responsible for that flight
This is interesting, I'm considering travelling to Alaska next year and their flight Frankfurt to Anchorage is probably the most convenient way to get there from central Europe. Looks like I'll be able to survive in economy, though I always have trouble sleeping in those seats. And not including cabin baggage in the cheapest fare is clearly a way to optimize their position on flight planner websites.
17:02 that personal item limit is truly heinous. that's an 8l bag, i have totes that are bigger than that. For comparison most ultrabudget airlines in europe (so ryanair, wizz and what not) allow you bags that are around 20-25l in capacity
Totally agree. The depth limit of 10cm for a personal item is particularly outrageous when you consider that other cheapo airlines like Ryanair allow 20cm. I'm inclined to give them a 1-star review just for that alone. How they can get away with it is beyond me, but I suspect that they don't rattle customers too much about the personal item.
So do the pillow and headrest covers on all their aircraft match the exterior? Noticed your sand color 330neo had brown headrests and pillow covers. Would they be green on the green aircraft? Pretty nice touch but has to be a pain logistically.
Hi, the match is a nice coincidence. All pillows and the blankets are in sand color on every condor A330NEO (accept in BusinessClass) Greets from Germany
Hello @simply_aviation . Your trip reports are awesome especially the ones with subtitles only. Can you kindly suggest me the best flight to choose as I'm flying for the first time from Pakistan to Chicago. I'm really confused.
I was curious about this, as I'm taking the A330 next month...when the meal section came around, I got a sense of deja vu and pulled up a photo on my phone: that was literally the exact same meal I had on Condor when going from SFO to Frankfurt last year, with the one difference being the kind of noodle - beyond that, the zucchini/cheese/sauce, the brownie, the orzo, the bread...all identical. Breakfast too. Not a complaint, cause it's edible, just funny
The zebra airlines, I like it. Honestly, the dark theme cabin is a fantastic choice. It's not like the cabin is cleaned once a week. If anything, it is very hard not to miss a spot when cleaning by the crew.
I don't really like the livery (besides the more subtle yellow aircraft you flew on), but I really like their overall branding. The stripes are really strong.
Nowadays you can also find the A330neo and other videos by @AeroNewsGermany in Condor's IFE which I find really cool! I love how Condor integrates one of their biggest ambassadors into their brand, especially since he's flying the A330 now!

Reasonably. I mean, in the Premium Eco, Lufthansa still has their benefits. In Eco and Business however, Condor looks much better at the moment!
what about DE2093? Im looking at flight right now but never have flown with Condor. What do you think?
Sorry you live in US. What a third world dump hole

Bro they look like candy canes
I remember that this livery was unveiled on April's Fool day, and many people (including me), thought it was just a joke.
That’s such a German thing to do lmao
I think it’s amazing, probably my favorite livery, but this is one of those liveries you either lover or hate
