Not Japanese but Mandarin! Yes definitely visit countries in Asia if you have a chance! Japan is still harder to get to now but hopefully it’ll get easier.

I’m glad you enjoyed it!! I didn’t see any puffer fish while there but it’s totally possible. You can also see Tokyo Bay from the rooftop garden which I highly recommend. It’s not an unobstructed view but you can kind of see a full 360 if you really walk around.
Thank you for your very generous reply!! I'm writing a murder mystery set in Tokyo where a modern day English teacher solves two murders with the help of the ghost of Emperor Meiji. One person will be killed by fugu sashimi, so I wanted to know if one could get a fugu there at the fish market. From my research, only licensed dealers are allowed to buy the complete fish.
By the time we got to Dai Sushi it was already 6:20AM so I was expecting a line but maybe it was still the combination of Toyosu being so new and the day of the week, we walked right in!

I know this may sound like a dumb question, but my wife is a vegetarian. Are there some seaweed snacks/egg sushi avaliable?

can you go to sushi day without going to the auction?
Yeah you can. The restaurants are separate from the auction experience so you can just line up/show up for them at anytime.

The best way to eat sushi is just using your bare hands not chopsticks.
Please use gloves! It is no sanitary to use your hands🦠
