    HE boards are about to change drastically. You should consider taking a look at more premium customs that are adding hall effect boards, such as the zoom65v3 or the qk65v2 classic edition. Even the neo65 has a hall effect pcb planned. All of these blow wooting out of the water in terms of quality and sound.

    Oh boy, after your advice, I actually bought both wooting and the razer huntsman v3 pro tkl. Right now I am writting from the huntsman, its quiter than my huntsman mini clicky version, the quality and aluminium is amazing plus its pretty heavy (which I like), the feeling of the keys feel premium to me, and I also have media buttons and arrows, I am soooo looking forward to see what difference the wooting can make, this razer is alreadyt amazing lol, idk if I will give back the wooting when it comes (in 3 weeks) or the razer.
    What do you think are going to be the main differences? :D
    PS: The wrists rest is horible with my mousepad, the rest is amazing! (also the RGB is amazing compared to my last huntsman mini) - this is also probably the first liniar switches for me after my roccat vulcan tkl but they are sooo smooth to click on, but also clicky in a way

    • @leizerg
      @leizerg  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah Razer stepped it up a notch in the recent releases. I think the main differences you will see in sound and stabilizer feel. The Razer is much more useful in everyday scenarios since it’s Tkl and has arrows. In performance there is close to no difference from what I’ve tested. But for Wooting I believe you can replace the switches while Razer has the soldered in so you need to return the keyboard to them if anything fails. And after warranty you’re on your own. But the new optical switches are amazing really like them.

  • @umk3mafioso

    Hi, Leizerg, I'm glad at least some reviewers know how to test this kind of keyboards, especially the input lag information is crucial, I mean people spend up to 300$ for a gaming kb, you gotta think they care about performance, this rapid trigger boom is made for and by gamers.
    Now I have a question, I happened to notice that the input lag results on redragon keyboards with RT (different models, but i believe the pcb and swithces are the same) vary from test to test (by other youtubers), there is a thai reviewer who used to use solenoid rig just like you and he now uses some device that registers the current on the usb cord of keyboard itself, excluding PC and monitor lag from the equation , with his tests redragon has only 5ms input lag when wooting has 0.8ms, and around 15ms with the solenoid test for redragon. So i was curious who's test is correct his or yours, granted 5 is more than 0.8, but it is not 30ms vs 70ms from your tests. I mean if the pcb lag data is correct, then the solenoid test should be 30 and 35 respectively. So i opened two of your videos where you slowmo the release of the button and i counted frame by frame (60 fps youtube frames i mean) the wooting, apex, nj98 and redragon results and found out that the same keyframe appears on the screen roughly at the same (TH-cam 60hz) frames after the release of the button. I dont know where this 70+ms lag came from. The only reasonable answer would be if wou slowed down your 1000fps camera's footage differently from one review to another, so 1\60 frame would result different time irl.
    I hope you add to your tests in the future some kind of frame counter on the screen when you record the game in slow motion, so it would be easier to count the delay by viewers themeselves, and maybe something more recognizeable within the game animation, maybe a gunshot muzzle flash or something.
    Sorry for the long read.

    • @leizerg
      @leizerg  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! This is all very fair points. Please remember that my methodology does include all types of delays - from the system itself, from the monitor as well as the game. And that can vary very much if for example there was some kind of system process interrupting in the background. But that’s why you do 10-20 tests to get a good average.
      I think testing just the signal going through the cable is much more accurate but it’s also very „synthetic”. It doesn’t apply in any way to real world scenario - I hope you understand what I’m trying to say. Plus I’m not sure what the current on the cord is - it might be the button press or it might be something else, RGB or whatever. But I’m not an electrical engineer to be 100% sure whether this is true or not.
      Using visual method at least guarantees you can see the result. I’m also not sure how big of an impractical drivers have on the whole system latency, it might be that what’s causing the massive delay.
      I think in the end it’s important to stick to the same method to be consistent.
      I used 1000fps camera but the footage is saved as 50fps so it’s already slowed down 20x. After you put it to resolve you basically count 1 frames = 1 ms.
      Thanks for the input I’ll try to improve me testing process and maybe use Wooting each time as a reference. Hopefully this will help a bit.

    • @umk3mafioso
      @umk3mafioso หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@leizerg thanks for the answer, i think too the solenoid test is perfectly good, as long as the solenoid is consistent. I agree that drivers, screen capture or other apps can affect the results. It is good to know the slowmotion parts are all 1000 to 50 because that makes my frame counting to be relevant, i mean i want redragon to be not so bad 😀 because it is cheap enough to try RT keyboard without breaking a bank. If you are interested i'll explain what i counted: the frame when i see the switch to pop up/release it is frame#1,then i frame advance on youtube's in-browser player with >, so with all of those keyboards i advanced to about 50th frame and the image of the HUD overlaping the gun was pretty much identical, +-5frame advances difference, i recon 5 frames of slowed down footage won't cover extra 40 ms, as you said it would be around 5ms, which corelates perfectly with reviewer's results with electronic device that i was mentioning before. So maybe there was an error in your results, otherwise idk why frame counting gave me identical results between thos kbs.
      Anyway, best regards

      @@DanSperryIs13 Update: I have received the keyboard! I'll give you a mini review.
      Build Quality - Not the best, it's made completely out of plastic and has some decent deck flex, but not enough to affect performance. It's better than anything I'd expect from Redragon.
      Lighting - Very Limited, but enough to provide aesthetics and visibility.
      Now the good stuff
      Switches - Honestly smoother than I expected, by a LOT. I trust Outemu to make good products, but these feel like a leap compared to the last switches I tried from them. A little plasticy sounding, but that could be due to a lot of other factors. It won't wake any one up though.
      Rapid Trigger - Insanely responsive, no strange input issues, no ghost presses. The one thing I noticed is that they seem to glitch when they bottom out, but it only exists in the software. Otherwise they are perfect.
      That's about it, it's a quality keyboard boasting a great range of features and a decent construction. If you want a rapid trigger keyboard but don't want to spend hundreds, this is your best choice.

      Normal mechanical keyboard has a fixed actuation point. Analog mechanical keyboard allows you to change that plus it can reset as soon as you release the button (0.1mm travel) and activate again after you start pressing it (0.1mm) regardless of set activation point.

    • @CR0WYT
      @CR0WYT 26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Most mechanical keyboards have a set actuation point, meaning there's a point where the key you press actually registers to the computer. With a product like this, you can choose when the keyboard can both start registering a key press and when to stop it. Some games can heavily benefit from it.
