Hi Tim, Great video as always. Question/challenge for you (and anyone else, for that matter) on a totally different subject - my local syndicate water does not allow booby’s but the fish are right on the bottom. I previously fished it, when booby’s were allowed, under similar conditions to what we’re experiencing now and had a lot of success with a coral booby on a 4’ leader on a booby basher. Is there a fly you can think of, or that could be tied, that isn’t a booby, but is buoyant AND has a marabou ‘wing’? I thought of a coral fab but it doesn’t seem to have the same attraction
We get round this in the Bank comps as were not allowed boobies either . So tie the same booby pattern but tie the foam cylinder in so it lays on the back of the fly like a shell back , This gives the same buoyancy as a booby ... but isnt a booby !
@@timjoyceflyfishing-essex6769 Tim, is that something I could order from you? I’m after some of the bungs you tie as well - probably about £15 - £20 worth if that would be worth your while??? I know you’re probably back to guiding now so no dramas if you don’t have time.
I source mine from all over the Uk . Capes are generally from Lakeland flytying . I use Lathekill fly fishing , Irish fly supplies .. it all varies depending on what I am looking for .
Both mate .. like all flies there is no right or wrong way , but my preference is very slow to static with the odd long pull to keep it close to the surface .
Thanks Tim - cracking little fly- working on a few of those right now

Do you retrieve this pattern or fish it static?
