    This fly saved my trip! Big fish all around me and they wouldn't take anything during a claibaetis hatch. It seemed they should take dries but they wouldn't touch them. I started thinking in terms of an emergency and put this fly on. First cast.....fish on! It saved the trip. Thank you. I am going to tie them in brown, olive, and black. I think the thin profile was helpful.

    “Take your time . . .” “Till you’re happy with it . . .” “It’s up to yourself. . .” “Take your time . . .” “Just a matter of messin’ around . . .” “When you’re happy . . .” “Don’t worry about it . . .” “Once you’re happy . . .” Such an inviting and easygoing narrative makes me want to try and go easy on myself. Makes me enjoy the tie. Thank you Davie.

    Hi Davie,
    I've only been fly tying for a year now and your videos have been the mainstay of my efforts. Still a long way to go but at least they're catching fish from Eyebrook :)
    Just wanted to say that I really appreciate your work, your craftmenship and the fact you're willing to share it with all of us. Cheers and Happy New Year.

    Davie, a great fly so easily and professionally tied.
    I aspire to tying them as good as you but I fear that day will be long in the future!

    I've used this pattern in a few different colour combinations and had fish literally rip the rod out of my hand for these wee beauties, great fly for pretty much all year round.

    can I make a suggestion or a want I guess. Could you put a material list in your description? Makes it easier for the viewer like myself to get the right materials :)

    Superb Davie as always, your techniques are very well practised and neatness and detail are incredible and definitely one of the most watchable on U Tube.How would you fish this, would it be top dropper on a floating line or midge tip with a dry on point and how would you retrieve the fly ,slow figure of 8 possibly

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Stuart,
      I would happily fish this fly anywhere on the cast as it will still fish well and on both lines that you mentioned. Slow figure of eight and with an odd twitch is a good all round retrieve but I would also try other methods to just keeping in touch with it as I would do this with almost all the fiies I fish like this..Many thanks again for the kind words...
      All the very best Davie..

    • @stuartjones7903
      @stuartjones7903 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Excellent Davie may fish this with a Diawl Bach aswell to take advantage of the slow retrieve working both fly's and occasional twitch as you say ,good methodology statement "keeping in touch with the fly" many thanks indeed

    If you see this comment where do you get your peacock eyes? The ones i have dont have the dark edge so you dont get the lovely segmented effect. I'm in the UK. Thank you in advance.
