This fly saved my trip! Big fish all around me and they wouldn't take anything during a claibaetis hatch. It seemed they should take dries but they wouldn't touch them. I started thinking in terms of an emergency and put this fly on. First cast.....fish on! It saved the trip. Thank you. I am going to tie them in brown, olive, and black. I think the thin profile was helpful.

Hi Davie, I've only been fly tying for a year now and your videos have been the mainstay of my efforts. Still a long way to go but at least they're catching fish from Eyebrook :) Just wanted to say that I really appreciate your work, your craftmenship and the fact you're willing to share it with all of us. Cheers and Happy New Year.
I've used this pattern in a few different colour combinations and had fish literally rip the rod out of my hand for these wee beauties, great fly for pretty much all year round.
can I make a suggestion or a want I guess. Could you put a material list in your description? Makes it easier for the viewer like myself to get the right materials :)
Love the video Davie might give it a go I'm new to fly fishing and fly tying turning 15 so might ask for more tying stuff keep the videos coming really like them
Hi Jcscoob, I'm sure the ice cream van waits until I'm filming to come round just to annoy me but he does sell a good ice cream which makes up for it...ATB Davie..
Superb Davie as always, your techniques are very well practised and neatness and detail are incredible and definitely one of the most watchable on U Tube. How would you fish this, would it be top dropper on a floating line or midge tip with a dry on point and how would you retrieve the fly ,slow figure of 8 possibly
Hi Stuart, I would happily fish this fly anywhere on the cast as it will still fish well and on both lines that you mentioned. Slow figure of eight and with an odd twitch is a good all round retrieve but I would also try other methods to just keeping in touch with it as I would do this with almost all the fiies I fish like this..Many thanks again for the kind words... All the very best Davie..
Excellent Davie may fish this with a Diawl Bach aswell to take advantage of the slow retrieve working both fly's and occasional twitch as you say ,good methodology statement "keeping in touch with the fly" many thanks indeed
Hi Davie once again thank you. What do you use to dye your feathers? I raise white Turkeys and with thanks giving just around the corner I will have plenty of white feathers to dye. Thanks for your time in making wonderful videos. Paul
If you see this comment where do you get your peacock eyes? The ones i have dont have the dark edge so you dont get the lovely segmented effect. I'm in the UK. Thank you in advance.
Hi Allan McClenaghan, You need to find the best eyes to get a good golden olive and sunburst so pick the one's which have the lightest coloured quills... All the very best Davie
Hi Rene Kusk Christensen, I used Peacock Quill on the body which comes from the eye of the Peacock, I remove the fine herl using bleach...I have attached a link to how I do this for you to see.. th-cam.com/video/kP1CDXL2SEY/w-d-xo.html All the very best Davie..
Love this pattern using the UV resin on the body really makes the fly alive
Thx Davie

do you dye the full fether of pecock herl
Hi Allan McClenaghan,
Yes it's worthwhile dying the whole feathers especially if you are tying these flies...
All the very best Davie
What bodymaterial are you using?
Hi Rene Kusk Christensen,
I used Peacock Quill on the body which comes from the eye of the Peacock, I remove the fine herl using bleach...I have attached a link to how I do this for you to see..
