In 1996, this was the future! There’s never been a graphical jump like this. The higher resolution, the smoother textures, the additional polygons, the way the cloth moved, the way Jeffrey’s muscles expanded, the way Dural’s skin reflected the environment. 10 year old me was amazed!
Thanks for uploading this in high quality! I've always been hoping someone would do it! I check regularly but judging by the upload date it went under my radar. I'd love for someone to do an AI upscale of this, make it even more crispy. But great work anyway! ❤️
Thanks a lot. Actually it is AI upscaled but there just isn't enough quality/resolution to work with. If you use any of the more aggressive algorithms, the whole image becomes a complete mess with characters faces and background elements becoming really warped and deformed etc. I did manage to increase the frame rate to 60fps with interpolation and that worked pretty well. If I ever find a better copy of it online I'd love to have another go. Thanks for watching.
@@retromuel Oh I see, well I'm a complete layman when it comes to upscaling. I've looked for years and never seen footage as good as yours. Considering the blurry original source, you did some real magic 🙂

It's amazing to think that AM2 was working on this gem AND Shenmue at the time. They really were gods among games developers
Man, when I saw this back then it blew my mind out. And still is revolutionary in a way no other fighting game ever will be.
This is so damn beautiful! Great job and awesome video!!! 😎

I'd heard that there were VHS made for each character, and of those about 5 dvds were also made, so only for akira, kage and a few others
So impressive at the time!
I'm sure this was included as a video on a Sega Saturn magazine demo disc at one point.
To think that we’ll have to wait for about 3-4 years after the demo’s release to get a console that would accommodate this game. Nuts.
Nice work.
I guess this is the one that has been shown right there th-cam.com/video/LBwNA3HHCF4/w-d-xo.html
Yeah that's the one. Nice find.
