Finally, another regular guy like me that makes soap! Most of the other soap videos are women with fairly large soap businesses. I've tried putting the smaller grains of salt on top of a batch of soap and it also mostly fell off. Won't be topping with salt again.
If you decide to put salt or any botanicals on top, cut the soap on the side so that way the wire doesn’t go straight into the top items. Hope this make sense. Thank you
I will try it and see how it goes. Thank you 😊

There's not a lot of us, but we exist! I found the same thing, topping with salt didn't stick very well.

Makes so much sense now that you say it. All I have to do is flip the soap on it's side.
You have to cut salt soap a lot sooner. Within 12 hours, or put into individual cavity molds. Nice soap!
Found out the hard way :) Individual molds would be a good way to do it. Thanks!
You could have layered it put some soap in and then layered it with the coarse salt having coarse salt toward the bottom and toward the middle
you're lucky Costco USA sells coconut oil- they don;t sell it in Australia anymore😭
Ahhh that sucks! It's a staple for my soaping. I'm in Canada :)
