The Star Wars collab is fitting.
"Somehow, Oryx has Returned!"
'They fly now?'
'They fly now...'
I think Oryx returning has something to do with the past events in the Ghost of the deep dungeon, The hive were trying to resurrect Oryx in that Dungeon.
Still bitter about that eh?
When it comes to paracausality, "somehow" is commonplace
They already used it in the reworked arms dealer
A Scarier patrol experience. *Gets ptsd from Neomuna*
Let's be real the first or 2 days it's a bit difficult compared to other patrols but later like any activities we are stomping that activity
@@FarookKMOONI think you can still be one shotted by threshers and cyclops.
@@FarookKMOONThe patrol is still ass to this day compared to the rest
whoever had the idea to have the patrol space always be +10 or +20 or whatever it is should be banned from ever working in the video game industry again
@@RealSwaltonnot really, neomuna and the taken king and titan have the best patrol to date
i liked going back to the leviathan. yea it was reused, but it was refreshing to have a different patrol space halfway through the year to go to just to mess around.
And seeing other players! It felt active if you know what i mean
@NotLuvely yea I don't like this whole philosophy of patrol spaces being single instances going forward. It feels empty like that.
they really did leviathan right, I wished it was stays in the game since it is still on the moon's sky box. the patrol space is active, the enemy is constantly rotating so it doesn't feel empty, the activity is quite simple but fun for grinding seasonal weapon red border drops.
Getting reaper was honestly rlly fun to me
They should have had the whole patrol of dreadnaught and make it a local activity with TONS OF ENEMIES
Seasoner of the Deeper let's go???
Ok that's hilarious
Season of the Deepest when
we doing so many deep dives they're going to thing this is DRG
We killed Oryx in the real world, we killed him completely in his throne world, and then we prevented his resurrection as a light bearer. But he came back anyways? Waiting for a few years from now when the Witness somehow returns.
Somehow, Oryx has returned
Oryx the Abomination, on a RV
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah it diminishes there entire story line and build up as a character
Dude, they only bring him back because he's already an asset in the engine. They don't bother making a new, big character because that requires work. So they reskin/recycle assets like always.
We're often bad at properly expressing our gripes.
When we say "Oh, they've resorted reusing the Dreadnaught! Somehow Oryx returned!! XD",
What we really mean is, "It sounds so cool, but so did Echoes and Revenant"
Echoes was just nessus stuff, we've seen it way too much. Also the vex. It's hard to make the vex interesting.
Revenant was just more onslaught until contest of elders. Elders was good, but by then they only had 2 weapons to give us, so it was wasted.
Heresy is already off to way better of a start than the previous episodes imo. All the weapons excluding the Arrivals reprised ones look so sick not just aesthetically, but functionally.
@danieldacorte8000 Ngl, they were pretty cool. My only wish is we got a little more stuff, but I'm happy nonetheless. I know I haven't really played since killing The Witness, but I'm thinking of playing a little bit longer for this update, has stuff to grind for and I'm up for it
I absolutely love how widely used the 'Somehow, ___ returned...' thing is.
Absurd that it even came to be in the first place, but even more so how prevalent the trope is in several stories today.
@@Dewm02I mean oryx getting rezzed was in the cards since ghosts of the deep, it was probably gonna happen at some point
@BruhExe-kh2bv if anything it was implied he Couldnt be rezzed. His body was described as alive but a shell with no soul. I assumed that meant his soul had been obliterated, because thats what happens when you kill hive in their throne world, and thats exactly what we did in Kingsfall
im guessing 90% of the community its going to absolutely hate the no healing thing
You can still self heal with rifts or devour or restoration. It will make people actually buildcraft important aspects into their builds and be more engaging with comboing their buffs. So yeah like 90% of the players are not able to do that.
Crazy that bots can’t even make a build
Cool. The exotic mission was far too easy. Now its our turn.
God forbid the dreadnaught of the taken king actually being threatening. (No hate to u just saying)
@@snottytoe6957 they said specific exotics and abilities are detuned for the activity also. This doesnt widen build variety, this narrows viability

Oryx somehow returns yet again for real this time until 2 years from now on when he's yet again needed to come back, you just need to remember the wisest words ever put to film:
"no one's ever really gone"
Ill be honest and this might be a bit “nit picky” but can we stop “returning dead bosses/gods” kinda diminishes their entire story line and build up…. im tired
@@Zerba- Agreed, I understand bench is super light in this game and things are on fumes, but yeah not particularly crazy about that detail. I thought the whole thing with Ghosts of Deep where his corpse was still emitting Darkness power like a decaying piece of radioactive material was more than effectively creepy, but to do the whole "he's back" meh I'd be curious how they try to shoehorn in further explanation.
It also bugs me a bit because Bungie killed off Rasputin because alleged "he was too powerful to write around", yet we have been met with absurd conveniences of game breaking god powers practically all the time with no effort.
Yall dont even both to let them cook anymore just whine whine about things we dont know everything about yet
@@Cobra_9041imagine killing the witness the big bad and in a couple years time there spirit returns or it returns. What was the point in killing the witness if he returns anyway?
Last Jedi good 👍🏼
26:37 Datto missed Runneth Over being on the new episodic Auto Rifle as well. For those who don't know, that's the Origin Trait on the King's Fall weapons. It's a damn good one too. Actually huge addition to the Heretical Arsenal. But it does seem like it'll only be on the Adept weapons, since it wasn't on the Grenade Launcher.
I just wish we could stop getting content specifically designed to be removed after a year.
4 months in this one's case :)
The answer to "How did they pull off a Star Wars collab?" is very simple. Both franchises are in a REALLY rough spot so they have nothing to lose.
DMG confirmed on Twitter that the Dreadnaught isn’t gonna be an actual patrol space. You load into the Nether and can explore a bit
Never overdeliver.
The haunted leviathan was too well liked I guess
Classic Bungo. RIP. Well I had confidence they would find a way to make me not wanna play. Great success again. Good thing all this “content” will be removed, sunset, vaulted, whatever they call it now.
@@icarusrising2787 Can't have that again. People enjoying patrol zones is too much.
Just like when they "brought back" Titan in Season of the Deep but it was just for seasonal activities. They'll never do what they did with the Leviathan in Haunted again.
I hope they have some lore drops if you use Touch of Malice or The Navigator.
Like the voice lines from Nezarec back in Lightfall before the raid that you could only hear if you had the glaive, the Warlock helmet, or Delicate Tomb iirc. It was peak.
imagine having touch of malice
Imagine having either of these drop after many, many runs 🥲
imagine having either of those guns
@@Lufe_Starkimagine having a reason to still play the best type of content in the game
You mentioned double perks on weapons from Episode: Revenant - as someone who played a lot during this season, these double perk weapons did not just feel rare, they were rare and could not drop on all items. The only place you could get double perks on weapons was from Onslaught Salvation, and only at the end of a 50 wave. This meant that you usually took about 1h+ to get a single weapon with double perks, with the weapon being random, making it not a viable way to farm the weapons. The reason why this season felt so bad with the weapons is that seasonal weapons have 7 perks in both the 3rd and 4th column, so you had a 1/49 chance to get a 2/5 roll on a weapon, something very abysmal for seasonal weapons.
nice they got anthony fantano on the right

Who??
@@Neko-gc6vuThe Internet’s busiest music nerd, of course. Catch up.
one thing I think they miss about the rouge like stuff they are adding is an endless mode. In a bunch of rouge like games the fun of it comes from making a crazy set up and seeing how long you can survive
Rogue*
You know the only thing i'm still being positive about this episode is that Eris and Drifter is back, They usually put up a banger seasons when they were around, and hopefully this one too.
Dude at the beginning of the vid basically spoiled that eris is gonna die or something. What else could redacted event be lol
26:30 dev mentions "slice and tear, which are two perks that sever enemies", meaning a new sever related perk may be coming as slice is currently the only one?
Yes
I'm almost positive that he meant "debuff" instead of sever. I'm not sure what tear does obviously, but id be incredibly surprised if there were 2 perks to sever enemies. I don't think any other damage type has 2 weapon perks that apply the same debuff.
@@shank8120 yeah, could definitely mean another strand debuff, but the only other one that makes sense is unravel, and currently no perks apply unravel, so maybe its related to that? I find it hard to believe they'd release a weapon that suspends as a perk.
There’s two ways to apply jolt. I wouldn’t mind another way to sever enemies
@@onearmtanner9301 yeah but those are never on the same weapon. It'd be weird to have Slice AND Tear on the same gun with both applying Sever. I'm sure Tear has a condition that activates when something is Severed kinda like we have Repuls+Destabilizing playing off eachother and things like Loose Change with every debuff or Eddy Current with Amplified
So basically he's whelmed like the rest of us
We never got Particle Reconstruction, that's new. What we had before was Particle DEconstruction that applied a debuff on hit
This is just an upgraded version, it still does the damage, but also has reload perks
Particle
Yeah I was happy to see this come back in some way. I loved Particle Deconstruction. I always thought if they brought it back, they could name it Particle WEAKENstruction lol.
I think the rare weapon variants being "Adepts" is actually better since then you can use the unique adept mods on them while still having an obvious cosmetic difference, them also uniquely getting the King's Fall Origin Trait as an alternative option is a nice touch as well.
But it‘s basically just Seasonal Adept weapons..
No ornaments even..
@@iambenutzungslos3136So? They look awesome
@@iambenutzungslos3136 The "ornament" was just a different shader anyway, adepts have a unique shader look to them if you don't apply anything over it.
It's basically the same thing just presented in a different manner.
"I dunno how many people were pogging their mind out about Court of Oryx" tell that to my wife, it's all she talks about in relation to the dreadnought.
Court of oryx was great and kinda overshadowed by everything else TTK had to offer
one thing that I think bungie could experiment with is a rogue like gamemode similar to what vermintide 2 has. vermintide 2 is also a looter game with weapons that have essentially the same perk system that destiny has. vermintide 2's rogue like gamemode forces the player to only be able to choose base white rarity weapons to start and then as you go through the levels you gain currency that lets you buy weapon upgrades so that by the end of the run if you have made it to the final level you essentially will have the equivalent of exotic tier items equipped and you earn rewards that help with the progression outside that gamemode. having this style of mode in destiny i think would be really fun because you would be able to put together a build with the gear you find and actually be able to feel the power of your selected upgrades. maybe this kind of thing could happen after the armor rework because the most complex thing to get right about a build in destiny is finding armor. the frontier armor looking way simpler would definitely help this kind of mode work better.
i think people would explode if they couldn't bring their invincible build and op guns in an activity
Ive honestly been wishing for something like this for a wild the thing with the boons and simliar effects is that when you go in with a pre ordained build its not like roguelike games where within the run your improvising a build together because you are basically are just forced to pick which one actually somewhat functions with your build.
This would be incredibly fun, and a nice way of testing build-crafing capability. But I really doubt this would ever go over well with the vast majority of the playerbase.
@@cerulean5032 ya sadly you are probably right. it seems like the community likes the idea of rogue like or lite things but don't like it in practice. This kind of mode would need to be like a new ritual or something like onslaught that is always there in the background for people to play. not a season mechanic because then too many people would complain about being forced to play it and lose their gear, they grinded for
Ahh yes, lets make Patrol more tedious, it worked so well with Neomuna!
Loved neomuna once we got powerful enough bud idk what you're talking about. The environment was cool looking too

Different Year, Same Destiny.
I have a feeling that Touch of Malice might be cracked on the Dreadnaught because of the boosted health. The Damage per shot will be lessened while the heal after kills will be huge.
“Somehow oryx returned”
Sounds familiar…
Crazy how the devs quite literally stated that Oryx isn't really coming back and it's just his spirit or ghost or something and the entire community is somehow mad because they think he's coming back from the dead. And how everyone is assuming xivu isn't coming in an episode literally called "heresy" just because they haven't revealed the story which the devs also stated is being kept intentionally under wraps. This community is exhausting to be a part of.
As grumpy as I am with not getting an actual patrol space, it got old in Season of The Haunted
No seasonal patrol space will ever be engaging enough to warrant the effort tbh, even most campaign patrol spaces are only engaging for so long
@@conmanay4563 well they said it was designed to be explored too so I assume it's gonna be similar to leviathan but without other people because for some reason they thing single instance destinations are a good thing and don't feel empty.
@@LegendOfFarore single player instance patrol zones are a better option, otherwise you have to balance the activates in the zone around like 10 people and it gets impossible solo if you don't end up in a populated instance, was a huge problem I had in season of the haunted where I'd have to reload the zone like 10 times to find an actually active instance to farm in
Since they didn’t mention it at all. I’m assuming that we’re getting the same old little to no drops per run while not having crafting to compensate. The tonics being gone is a good thing.
But would have loved it if they had addressed the problem of not having crafting for seasonal weapons: the fact that there isn’t enough drops. IMO the best part about crafting is that given the little amount of loot we get from the activities. It acts as a safety net for when the rng is just bad. At least some of them would be red boarders.
Bungo logic is crafting reduces playtime, they need to squeeze every drop out of the playerbase so they drip feed content, drip feed drops with “totally whoops we had no ideal perk pools were weighted…. Accident…”
And their plan is force players to grind this new activity a billion times to show player numbers to C Suite managers
Pass. This game is a job. A pathetic job that doesn’t pay and is NOT FUN.
So over their garbage
The new Trace Rifle is going to go HARD with Gifted Conviction Arc builds, I am SO EXCITED :D

they’re tripling down on the ridiculous and tedious difficulty and they changed the name of tonics to some other trash. and on top of that no healing and reskinned weapons and no crafting.
quite literally the same trash as last season. the new guy is like a luke smith clone
I hope we get the landing zone as one of the bubbles, solely because I want to know what happened to the Dantalion Exodus, and the last few cabal there

no crafting = gonna play the activity only for the story and it is gonna be such a relief
Idk, the adepts are a good byeover
Everything they showed off seemed cool granted I'm mostly interested in seeing how the story plays out and leads us into Frontiers.
Are we getting more vault space?
ok Bungie, now show me what will ACTUALLY WORK when the episode launches
The Nether looks like they mashed Riven’s Lair together with Nightmare Containment
Eris and Drifter, daring today are we Bungie
Wouldn’t mind seeing them for the 15th time if their character arcs didn’t consist of roughish outlaw and edgy Hive expert that only break their character types when it comes time to flirt with one another
Fuck I just described my DnD character experience never mind bungie keep at it ig im just dooming
This thread gave me a good laugh
if Heresy doesnt end with them kissing while we kill Oryx again in the background, i quit
Didn't they fire the person who did most of the Eris x Drifter shipping in the lore tho?
Hypothesis: Red Death is gonna be great in the new activity
"What got us to where we are today?"
"Incompetence, and hiring people to fit agendas"
The Dreadnaught seems to be the joint evolution of Season of the Haunted’s Leviathan and what they were envisioning for area difficulty Lightfall’s Neomuna.
Somehow palpatine returned
Datto: "Showing off weapons" *shows a pic of dmg* 11:32
You guys really gotta stop kissing bungies ass. attunement should be a guarantee drop every time of the weapon that you tune
Seems cool, very interesting to see the weird heath idea to make it a lil harder but it’s gonna come down to how much it’s been messed with cause if my void hunter can devour heal over and over then it’s not gonna be that hard. Adepts seem sick as well, I might not grind them but a new shiny type thing is always welcome
No healing? Laughs with precious scars and vex with particle reconstruction
Is anyone really excited about running the same missions 300 times?
I like things that stay:
-Episode 1 was mostly a let down, but I look forward to the 3 battlegrounds becoming GMs. They seem super hard and I can’t wait to suffer with my fireteam.
-Episode 2 I’m happy to get 3 more maps and vampire themes for Onslaught (they better add them to the playlist after the year ends) and I did enjoy the Exotic mission. Echos exotic mission was too long and got really tiring to run through
Hoping we get something that stays after the year ends with Episode 3
I personally hate Sloan I think she’s such a forgettable character who’s done nothing in 7 years besides become possessed.

Every time there has been Dreadnaught content added, there has also been some degree of a revamp to Arc subclasses.
Bungie, stop fucking around and unvault the Destiny 2 content you removed.
If oryx starts talking to me from the seasonal crafting table I’m gonna shidd
Considering how the Final Shape Epilogue Animatic has been faithful to the Episodes' events so far, very sure that Xivu's gonna be the central enemy for Heresy. Feel like Oryx's return is tied to her. Would be cool to have all three Hive siblings in the story.
8:15 Dmg confirmed The Dreadnaught isn't coming back as a patrol zone, sadly. We will be able to explore the areas in the exploration version of The Nether.
That’s a shame, nether activity looks nice but I do fondly remember late nights back then where I’d spend the entire night on the leviathan just running around each zone and doing a lil nightmare containment in between
10 mins ago and there are already negative comments, the video is 30 mins long.
I left the D2 Community for a reason, and still... Most of it hasn't changed. Not even surprised at this point, lmao
dead game
@adam5599 You say that, and there's still people playing it, not exactly dead to me. Hell, I'm thinking on coming back to check out what Heresy has to offer
Unfortunately when I game wrongs it’s community in any fashion that just heavily effects how the community takes things, even after things change for the better, just look at No Man’s Sky (destiny is nowhere near improving that much but still)
@@SomeGuyWithTwoCats6066 I agree that unnecessary negativity is detrimental for the game, but the game has been slop for so long and it's genuinely dead now (historically low population count, even compared to D2 vanilla, like, LFG and matchmaking breaking level of lack-of-players)
And what we need now is Bungie to hit rock bottom. If this Episode, the next DLC and Marathon fail, Bungie will realise that they need to actually treat destiny like a game and not an ATM. Which is the sole reason I wish they all fail miserably
I've long held the opinion that the guardian needs more HP and less healing potency so I'm happy to see they're at least trying that idea
It's so gray
I don't get why they said shiny weapons akin to the Into the Light holofoil when it's just an Adept weapon bc Adepts are already different colours to their normal version

I love the new changes to armour and weapons, but also how we’re going back to the dreadnought.
I just hope things work out well.
They need to do something about the low players.
Imagine nerfing an archetype, then featuring that archetype as a weapon you can get in the new season. Oh and it’s an old weapon. WOW.
I see the dreadnought patrol getting super old after like the 4th run. I don’t even go to Neomuna anymore. It’s uninteresting and bland. So I’m hoping I’m wrong, and Dreadnought will be fun and repeatable. I doubt it though 🤷🏻
What I think is interesting is that the artifact says that act 2 releases in 30 and act 3 in 50 days already. Seems like a short season
My biggest gripe is wtf are new players supposed to latch onto these past seasons...With so much missing content we hardly have any connections to Fikrul or Sundaresh so their appearance and moments were really empty (exception being the video logs of Sundaresh) and with Oryx being back alive AGAIN like hes Tanik v2.0 i just groan. Echoes fanned out and could of found anyone and started stories of new Villans or organizations so why not take that approach?! Sundaresh would have been a great one if her motivations weren't so shallow...

Are the reprised Arrival weapons going to be craftable? Or are they going to be like the reprised Dawn weapons? I can't tell from the footage.
If it's the latter then I've immediately lost any interest in grinding for new rolls. At this point I don't really go for any weapons unless its craftable or a Dawning weapon.
I’m cautiously optimistic. I haven’t played much at all this season, only coming back the last three days. I’m excited to play Destiny again, as my itch is beginning to
So we're totally okay with Savathun, Alak Hul, Cayde, Fikrul, Nokris, Tankis, Kelgorath, the Barons, and all the hive who we previously killed resurrected coming back from the dead but Oryx is where we draw the line and start bitching. Also we complain about returning to areas we haven't seen but still want Wrath of the Machine to return? Make it make sense.
Fikrul, Cayde, and Savathun have excuses, Kel and Taniks are memes, but I see your point
It's clear that they're only bringing Oryx back for nostalgia, which granted, they did for Cayde, but they were able to send Cayde off really well, and with how these last 2 "episodes" have been, there's no faith that the end of Oryx's arc will have the same treatment.

New activity looks fun tbh. Like an actual darkness zone. If they can still weave in secrets and hidden things alongside the linear stuff then I'll be thoroughly enjoying it. Still sucks that it's gone in 18 weeks tho
i hate how reprised weapons work because all they do is force us to regrind what we already have but just with a origin trait. retroactively update the old versions please man. same thing with the vog weapons.

Talking flamethrowers would love an exotic area denial skinned like the cabal magma launcher.
No more forced pinnacles levels :(
I want to play but the pinnacle level with the crap system makes me wanna die…
Here we go!
My guess is they are trying to change the healing system in Destiny and testing it with this episode.
To my mind, they have revived and revamped a certain skull from Halo into the patrol. You have to break pots to get health back ??
In Halo theres a skull where you have to melee to get both health ans shields back if at any point you take damage.
That's the first thing I compared that too
Edit; Black Eye skull, I knew what it was called, the name of which wasn't on the brain 😅
That’s the Black Eye Skull.
Bro they circumcised the dreadnaught???
Shoot to heal right after Rivals has come out doesn’t feel like a coincidence…
I hope they decide to keep the dreadnought as a location (and the activity) after the episode ends. even if it takes time compared to there original plans for it.
It looks like the Adept weapons have the kings fall origin trait while the regular ones don’t.
Hype for the crafted vault of glass weapons. I've been wanting to use fatebringer again since it sounds and feels so good! The origin perk looks really strong as well
