Your block off plates will work fine. Also your new drill press adjusts speeds with the pulleys on top open the cover and you’ll see them. Try a bit of cutting fluid or some sort of wd 40 or something when drilling. Will save your drill bits a ton when using them. Low speed helps too.

11:17 another thing to try in this situation is using a pair of vice grips to hold the Philips bit and use a 3lbs sledgehammer to progressively ramp up the power behind each hit while trying to loosen.
Invest in some LH drill bits. For small fasteners like those on the intake if they do get stripped most of the time the LH drill bits will spin the fastener out as you drill. Worth having in the tool box
If you have edges and want to make a template you can put masking/painters tape over the surface and tap it with a mallet and it’ll cut the pattern out of the tap and you can just pull it away next time you make a new plate for something
I'd really recommend just tapping that egr hole and throttle shaft hole for a bolt, and then either loctite or run some thread sealant (or rtv) on the threads. Additionally, that pipe clearly has a MAF flange welded on it, so it's either meant to be an intake pipe or made to use the maf in a blow through configuration.
Any rtv will be fine for air related things. But always expect a failure under high load. I make them for the bp4w motor witch is what you should be swapping in for an extra 50hp :)
Rtv will seal those block off plates fine if the surface is fairly flat. Which it looks like it is. Doesn’t need to be the nasty red eye sore color typically you only use that on the exhaust anyways. Regular rtv black or gray will work just fine I’m a gray rtv man myself

Btw what’s with the saw, get a oscillating multi-tool. It’s a hundred bucks if you already have a battery pack and charger. The cut through most anything. Until you clap a box cutter blade in it and go to town on some plastic you won’t believe how handy they are. Grate for cutting anything in tight spaces, exhausts, metal wood. Better and faster than a jigsaw and more versatile than a chop saw.
The intake is cast aluminum. Good thing you didnt try to weld mild steel to it. If you buy or borrow a bead roller for cold side tubing you can cut that flange off and use it with a silicone coupler.
For a budget build with more power I'd get a s13 dohc head get it ported to the max get a step up or 2 for cams and slap it on there. Would make close to 200whp about 11.5:1 compression supporting headers and it's would make it scream with the 4.10 gearing
Also unless you change the sensors how does getting a new harness get you different clips? I mean if you just want fresh clips that's one thing but you still have the same connections on the sensor so?

ultra black RTV for EVERYTHING> permatex ultra black. long as surfaces are prepped and cleaned. everything. only use high temp red for exhausts, that's legit it.
I put max speeding rods on my 09’ Corolla and they have been awesome for the last couple years Actually get comments about how good my slammed car rides But yes the quality is junk they rust immediately and the had to put Loctite on everything but I’m happy with them Even in the canyons

that will seal just fine with any rtv you dont need the high temp red for that. the high temp red is normally used on exhaust ports.

To change speeds on the drill press, you open the cap and move the belt. It has different ratios. Awesome video guys!
Hey Chris I believe the intercooler pipe is probably a place to bolt the maf for a blow through setup!

As long as you rtv it good you're fine, even make a gasket from gasket material (oreillys, amazon) either will be fine with that plate

S14 engines didn’t have those butterflies. You can use the upper intake with your s13 bottom and dnt have to deal with that
S14’s didn’t come with a single cam. The kaDE and kaE intakes are different.

Built my hardbody ka with all max peeding rod direct bolt on no issues did it for about 4-500 3 years still going strong
Yes the block off plate will work fine, a little thicker metal would be favourable but it should be ok with rtv

To change the speed you open the top of the drill press and move the belt
