Say what you may about Seiko, but you can’t deny their ability to keep their lines of watches fresh and interesting. I literally wouldn’t be able to decide amongst the three colors if I had to choose one. They are all great! Thanks!

Well, goodness-me! They all look good (the dial on the green version is akin to British Racing Green). BUT…the silver-white 033 is the nicest rendition to my eye since the 003 I bought from you last year. My money is on that one being the hot seller of the new trio. Thanks fr the quick heads-up!

I think it's worth trying one on if you get the chance - I've got quite slim wrists (16.5cm) and mine wears really nicely because of the short lug-to-lug.
Me too! I've got the SRPK which is a 38mm so they've already got the case for it!
Never get het up on measurements these wear like a 40mm look fine on small wrists
These do wear more like a 40. My wrist is 6.5” and it works for me w/o being obnoxious in the way the Tudor GMT is.
The white is beautiful. It's cool to release multiple colors, but please Seiko give what people, the GMT in the 38mm case 😁

Tried on the SSK035 the same time as a Seiko Turtle. Online images, the SSK blew me away and I had to see it in person before pulling the trigger. On the wrist it was light weight but it felt AND looked cheap and jangly and was a bit to flashy for me. It's like the Seiko GMT was trying to replicate the Rolex I could never afford.
Went with the turtle (SRPE93) in the end as it felt like a solid tool watch with that classic Seiko diver look.
I am a simple man: I see Marc talking about Seiko ... I hit LIKE! 😀

Love that green! Topical to your latest videos, I can't decide between one of these an a San Martin GMT. The question is how much I value the originality vs. the better finishing of San Martin.

That silvery white with the blue/black bezel would be a great summer watch, especially when thrown on a blue rubber strap. If I didn't just get the silvery white dial Jack Mason Strat-o-timer USA edition, I would probably pick one up.
I was just about to pull the trigger on an SBSC009 for my birthday, but think the SSK033 smokes it. Good timing seeing this video!

The 5KX GMT is honestly a great tool watch. My only complaint is no “true GMT” movement which would be much more convenient when jumping multiple time zones. Mine runs about -10 spd, which is okay because I re-hack every day when I land in a new time zone. Or I can rotate the bezel if I’m being lazy. It looks so good, and you can’t beat the price. I’m not sure I can justify spending 5 grand for that new BB58 GMT!

Great show as always, Marc! I used to think a gmt watch was the greatest idea ever! Then I got a couple and realized I could add or subtract a few hours in my head faster than I could read or set a GMT hand. I totally get it if you're a pilot crossing time zones left and right and need a stable Zulu time indicator, but for the rest of us I'm no longer convinced. An independent hour hand like the Omega 8900 movements is all I think any normal traveller needs. (I know Omega is hardly normal, but the function of moving the hour hand ahead and back in synch with the date and without hacking is ideal.)
I love the world timer dials that allow me to see time zones around the world. While traveling in Europe recently, it was so easy to adjust my watch when I crossed time zones throughout the week.
Seiko and Citizen are still churning out watches with a stamped clasp.

I'm a bracelet guy but the leather strap on that 3rd one looks surprisingly great.
That white dial with the blue gmt hand and bezel is smoking hot. I predict it will be a hot seller🔥🔥🔥🔥

I had the batman original. I loved the look of the watch, loved the idea of the watch and it wore well. Then I put it in the time grapher and wore it for a week or two. After gaing 20 seconds a day I put it in the watch box and ended up selling it. Paying that much for an unregulated watch with no sapphire is nuts. I love my turtle and loved my SARB, but this newer stuff from Seiko seems I bit lacking for the price point.
The orange one is still the best

The green is cool looking but there’s this company called Islander that gives you way more value for the money than Seiko.
Hardlex crystals were acceptable when SKX's were well under a hundred bucks, but even accounting for inflation and "supply chain issues" there's no excuse for using sapphire crystals and bezels when Seiko has the economy of scale on their side.

Mark, Seiko has come out with a stunning array of bezels since the GMT was introduced. However, what does bother me is the bezel turns a different color depending on the light. Did you find this to be annoying, or a feature that Seiko built in on purpose?

I own the SSK003K1. Very nice watch except for the friction bezel. Cheaper Chinese watches have bidirectional ratchet bezels. But you can at least use the dial for tracking a second time zone.
The 033 with white hands on a silver dial is a curious choice by Seiko. More contrast would have been nice. The root beer version is my favorite.

The green one is awesome but that two tone is really nice, Just wish the bezel was a dive style being the dial has the numbers for setting GMT. BTW what is that orange bracelet you wear? i haven't seem them in years! i miss mine
The ssk 036 root beer is so cool, it will be better if it comes with 2tone jubilee bracelet instead.

I have a root beer dial on my SPB240 diver. I would love to get something else like that. I have on old beat-up SARY056 with a root bear dial that has a two-tone with a brown-looking gold. Is there any new equivalent? I would love a Dres watch like that (brown-gold) with a rooter dial and gold dial furniture.

Oh sure. I finally pull the trigger on a Seiko 5 GMT (the Pepsi) and then these come out. That white dial model is soooo pretty! CURSE YOU, SEIKO! 😫
For $475 retail, and less expensive on eBay, you can own the entire line for less than a new Rolex GMT!

Nice! I do wish the bezels were aluminum or coated aluminum (bc seiko won’t give you ceramic at this price)
I don't like how they change colors.
How many of these 4r34s come back due to issues or just for regular maintenance? Has Seiko actually improved QA on these? I know you have to be realistic in this price range, but with these price increases across the board, it would be nice to get better regulation out of the box.
I still have an embargo on buying anything with hardlex.

No Seiko’s for me (I have two, a Recraft and a PADI Turtle) until the stamped clasp is replaced with something acceptable (like anything). Otherwise I love their products.

The 4r movements are phenomenal on those seikos. But the seiko 5 logo screams “cheap” to me.
I squinted real, real hard and imagined it was green.
These all look great, I'm sure the dials really pop in person. The "5" logo and the price point are what would keep me from getting one though.

Weird thing to have an "embargo" about. It's three colours, none of which haven't been done before on dozens of other Seiko 5s, and will not result in a significant boost to sales. So yeah, weird.

They need to stop putting see-through case backs on low-end watches. There's nothing worth seeing so why not skip it and lower the price of the watch.
