I’m from Glasgow and it’s comedy anywhere you go
I live in Glasgow love it love Glawegians❤
Youll have more fun at a glasgow funeral than an edinburgh wedding
Only because you get to celebrate the death of a weegie 😉
Yea but chances are ya get mugged at the Glasgow funeral

Glasgow has crookston castle
Edinburgh folk and Glasgow folk are ACTUALLY the same ... but to Glasgow folk, the Edinburgh folk sound posh...
And to the Edinburgh folk, the Glasgow folk sound a bit "rough".
(Glasgow has a "reputation")
One of my grandads proposed to my gran in Princes Street Gardens and his army mates cheered from the castle when she accepted. 🥳😁 Grandad told me that story so many times but I'd always enjoy listening as he was excitedly telling the story even 70 years later. 🥰 The castle hosts the military tattoo every year, have you watched any clips of that? It's a show of military bands from all over the world, defo worth checking out on TH-cam if the mood takes you. 🥁🎺🎵🎶
Edinburgh is mostly working class people it's actually not posh think of all the housing schemes Muirhouse niddrie wester hailes broom House Craig Miller Pilton Granton leith ect definitely nothing posh about any them places
I know , I’m originally from Edinburgh , and all that posh and upper class the Glaswegians love to talk about is rubbish .
The thing that stands out about the castle is that it’s on a mountain that looks vaguely like a dog resting
When I was a kid, I used to visit Edinburgh Castle that was built on top of a Extinct volcano and didn't fully appreciate the history and beautiful architecture of buildings dotted around the place. In recent years I've discovered a love for it all and can't believe how lucky I am to be so close to this beautiful Castle. I think what has helped me appreciate it more is having friends from other countries come visit and comment how beautiful that Edinburgh Castle is compared to cities in their home country. Everyday at 1pm the field gun is fired from the Castle called The One O'clock Gun. You can hear it from around the city.
Except on Sundays, the gun doesn't go off then
@@jambohev I forgot to say that. I was in town last Sunday and the gun went off. Do you know why.
I'm glaswegian I don't speak through my nose
Exactly, neither do I. He is talking about Neds not the ordinary Glaswegian.
@@stevesmith1456and the neds don't even need to come from Glesga to sound like that. They sound like that in a lot of different towns and cities. Them, and of course, the junkie scumbags!
Neither do I. Only the neds talk through their nose.
Aye ye dae, you all do … and yer all Ned’s too
@@Paul55108 no I definitely don't I'm not a wee ned full of buckfast🤣🤣
I’m so glad you chose Larry Dean, he’s a favorite of mine. Take a deeper dive into his comedy, please, he’s wonderfully funny and truly a Glaswegian, despite his convincing mimicry of other accents.😂
Im Glaswegian and do not speak with a nasal accent. It depends how you have been brought up as ,its those that have been dragged up such as Neds speak as he described but, most Glaswegians do not speak as he described.
He's brilliant to go watch live
You should hear Dundee and Aberdeen 😅
I grew up between Edinburgh and Glasgow. My natural, Falkirk accent is more Glasgow with the flat vowels but I lived in England for 30 years so my accent became a hybrid, more "posh Scottish"than anything. I once told a friend that my accent wasn't the one I was raised with. She dared me to answer the next call in my "real" accent. I told her I was speaking in my real voice, the Falkirk accent no longer comes naturally but I would try to oblige. She thought it was absolutely hilarious.! The thing is, it really doesn't come naturally except when I visit my dad in Bonnybridge then it comes right back only to revert to "posh Scottish" when I'm halfway back to Dumfries
Glasgow had incomers from the western isles; this might have a humanising effect.
As a guy who came from Edinburgh glasweigans are much more freindly I live in the Borders now in a toon called Hawick
good old hoik!
He is brilliant. He does an amazing Australian accent
glasgow banter is funnier
Edinburgh definitely not posh similar to Glasgow just depends what part you visit
Born in Glasgow, lived outside Edinburgh until I was 6, then lived in the Highlands most of my life 😂 Larry Dean is hilarious by the way 🤣
Go half way between... West Lothian. You'll love that gig 🤣🤣🤣
Bathgate no more.....
Glaswegian and Scouser woman do have that similar tone. You see a hotty and think nice, then you hear the voice and suddenly feel like you're watching Charlie's Cat
Oh man, you have to Google photographs of Edinburgh. It's magical. Not only the castle but the whole of the old town and travel across to South Queensferry on one of the 3 incredible Bridges. Take a look when you get a chance and you'll know then why people go on about the place. Glasgow humour is the best! I'm from Edinburgh but it's Glasgow Patter all day long for me. Real people!
There’s more to Edinburgh than the Castle and the old town. There are toffs but there are also many hard working working class people and people who live on the streets.
@@Angela-i6x3g I'm well aware of that. I was born in Greendykes, lived in Sighthill, Niddrie, WesterHailes (briefly) and just off Ferry Road for a while along with Albert Street for a while in the mid 90's.
You don't travel "across" anywhere to get to South Queensferry.. It's on the same side of the Forth as Edinburgh.. North Queensferry is on the other side, the clue is in the names
Edinburgh has lots of working class areas & obviously well off areas , like most cities .I know I grew up there , .
It's about a 50 mil drive from Edinburgh to Glasgow and there are about 20 different accents in between, I'm from a place called Falkirk, roughly half way between them and their accents are as different to mine as mine is to theirs. "What is it about the castle" Come up and see! Yeah mate, what you said Glasgow is a more working class place and Edinburgh more posh yet there are areas in both that contradict that statement, I describe Edinburgh as a tourist city, They bump up prices and sell cheap tat like ginger wigs and polyester "kilts" for £20 to toursits who don't know better, Glasgow is more likely to tell you that its cheap tat.
and comin from airdrie, can assure u yous falkirk bastards sound very different only a couple town away
@@skooby95 ahahaha
Edinburgh isn't posh, but it does have posh parts, just like most city's/capitol
those scots you mentioned who mostly talk about Glasgow is because they come from Glasgow
Edinburgh castle is one of the most famous castle if not the most & it's also the most besieged place in Europe
it's build on top of an extinct volcano just 1 mile away is Arthur seat another extinct volcano with Holyrood palace & Scottish parliament at the bottom
Glasgow might be known for its comedians & violence, but Edinburgh is known for everything else
Yes, Sean Connery , now he wasn’t posh , born in a slum area in the 1930’s , but he was class .
Edinburgh Castle is not the only one in Scotland that sits on volcanic land, Dumbarton does as well. Edinburgh isn't even the first capital that Scotland has had. As for being the most famous castle, I highly doubt it. That accolade goes to Ellen Donnan. But Edinburgh has had one capital title that no other city in Scotland has had, the AIDS capital of Europe, first gained in the mid 1980s. Don't believe me, look it up!
The castle sits on top of an extinct volcano. It's pretty impressive. Obviously there are working class Edinburghers. I think some Glaswegians tend to have a bit more of a chip on their shoulder about being working class. Edinburgh has the unique distinction of being accused of being too posh (maybe because of Edinburgh Fringe Festival and English people settle here and the castle was under English rule for a time in history) but also being full of druggies because of Trainspotting (which was filmed in part in Glasgow because the production couldn't afford to house in crew in Edinburgh because it was too expensive)
The castle rock is the plug of a volcano.
Edinburgh was the home of the Scottish Enlightenment and has always been a centre for finance and education, whereas Glasgow has always been an industrial city. I think that’s where the idea that Edinburgh is ‘posh’ comes from. It has also always been more affluent than Glasgow, so maybe there’s some truth in it.
Agreed @@gilly5094
The most east end language in Glasgow is African snp send them to Glasgow as Edinburgh don’t want them
There’s castles all over Scotland eddy but the capital is Edinburgh and the kings of Scotland stayed in Edinburgh and more Stirling. That was the heart of Scotland for passing into the highlands. Im from Falkirk and that’s in the middle of Glasgow and Edinburgh and 10 mins from Stirling
Larry Dean is national tressure and so criminally overlooked as a comedian
He is Scottish and openly gay, but loves to mess around with different accents
Scouse is nothing like any Scottish accent.
You've introduced me to a new Scottish comedian. Or is he? :D Cheers Eddy!
🤣🤣🤣
Am fae Embra ah kin tell yer fae somewhere neer er in London is ye huvny goot a clue about Embra.
Posh git a grip.
Yore scoter accent was brilliant.
No it wasny !
The Liverpool accent is nasally aye but the accent itself is nothing like Glaswegian . Theyre two completely different accents .
Larry Deans brilliant thanks. If you are looking for an other one Fern Brady is wild
Thank you 🤩
I'm from Edinburgh but stay in Ayrshire, and when I'm in Ayrshire I'm a chavie and when I visit Edinburgh I'm a weegie apparently, one thing for sure the people in the west coast are friendlier ,funnier, and easier to get on with!
Kevin Bridges whole act is based on being from Glasgow, but he's not actually from Glasgow. He's from Clydebank which isn't in the Glasgow Council area. He's funny, but he is a fraud 😂.
To us Scot’s who live up north glasgow and all its surrounding towns including Clydebank is all glasgow 😂
@@g.s.1722 Aye, clydebank, Paisley, Renfrew, East Kilbride are pretty similar tbh and most folk in they areas mum and dad's or grandparents came from Glasgow, but don't compare us to the backwards cousin shaggers of South Lanarkshire or Ayrshire 😂😂😂. If ye say "ken" you lose any right to ever claim Glasgow 😂
Love Kevin
That was a tight 3 minute set. Never heard of him afore, but gonna have to check his other stuff out. Man is actual typical glasgow, no fake glasgow like frankie boyle and his posh accent
Hawwww Quality Min! 😂
Edinburgh castle is where they have the royal edinburgh military tattoo, pipe bands etc come from around the world. There should be videos on yourube of it.
Stirling has a castle to and the wallace monument that's where I live
only good thing to come oot of edinburgh wiz the TRAIN to glesga lol
You should try Danny Bhoy
Good Scottish/Indian comedian
There are plenty of working class people in Edinburgh, but they’re slowly being driven to the outskirts. A lot of tourists have bought up second homes in the city centre because of the Fringe. Gentrification is a big issue in parts of Scotland.
Thank you, not heard of him before - one to keep an eye out for!
I was really impressed 🤣
I can confirm he is Scottish and he is gay lol x
Yeah often glasgow is the more working class city, edinburgh more posh, obviously there will be some rich in glasgow, poor in edinburgh but genuinely there is a difference in attitude between the cities that way
I understood it all I'm from Scotland though 😅
15 castles and Palaces in Glasgow and 14 in Edinburgh.
But nabdae wants to see them

Born in Glasgow but Edinburgh is a much nicer city. Glasgow city centre is a shit hole these days.
if you wanna be a tourist. edinburgh. if you want to be around nicer people. glasgow.
Thanks, great reaction.
I'm a huge Larry Dean fan.
Subscribed. ❤
Another comedian you might enjoy is Gianmarco Soresi.
He's consistently hilarious and does great crowd work.
Stirling Castle better
You need to check out Adam Rowe for a funny comic from Liverpool
Eddy - if you're thinking of visiting castles, why not get some practice in by going to Dudley Castle? It has a zoo ... 😊
And then there are fifers who always seem to get forgotten bout 🙄🙄
Glasgow and Liverpool accents have developed with a significant Irish influence.
You have to go to both places. They're incredibly different from each other but both great in their own way. Also Your accent is hard to understand - just sayin!
All the best comedians cone from Glasgow. Edinburgh has no sense of humour
Well I had a great time growing up in Edinburgh and plenty of laughs .Though I admit Edinburgh has more class.Where are you from ? Sound like a Glaswegian
But they all come to Edinburgh to get famous 😉
What about an Aberdeen accent?
I dunno if you're realising, but you're getting yourself a bit of a gay fan base! Just a warning for when you do come up Scotland! At least your girlfriend wont mind!
That’s no problem 🤣🤣
Glasgow is not a pretty city. Edinburgh town centre is a striking old city with the old buildings kept and the castle in the centre on a hill. It gives it a picturesque quality. The castle isn’t very exciting other than the views and situation. Glasgow tore down most of its old city and landmarks. I was born in Glasgow and nowadays I would be lost as it looks totally different. But the atmosphere is friendly and fun in a way no other place I’ve visited is. But visually not appealing.
Glasgow has some beautiful architecture
@@giuliamorrell4466 It’s few and far between now. Yes, it does but not much. It will always have a place in my heart but it’s not pretty.
Depends where you go in Glasgow, there sone absolutely beautiful places.
Weegies aren’t as posh as those of us from Ed
Same thing 😂
Why do you copy Black Paddy???
Glaswegian are funnier
