No, it was a horrific documentary on day 1. When people share your political alignment, you're more inclined to believe those people are smart because you're emotionally motivated to conflate the positive feeling of belonging with the comforting feeling of being right. But if you pay attention to how your friends justify their positions, you'll realize how often your friends are going with the flow rather than actually thinking. I mean, we elected George W. Bush because people wanted to have A BEER with him. That was literally a talking point among voters. The only reason people are wising up to how fucked we are... is because the political discourse is so toxic that both sides are becoming aware of how absurd this all is. But with a 2-party system where both sides cling to power by sabotaging viable alternatives (hence Biden winning the primary despite the vast majority of liberals hating his guts, and conservative politicians all backing Trump over DeSantis despite many conservative voters jumping ship), we're forever going to have a hard time de-radicalizing public discourse.

@@DeHerg That's starting to reverse a bit though. Modern projections are that young people now will be the first generation in a while to have a lower IQ than the one preceding them.
I don't want to say it's because Tik Tok is a an IQ vampire but...
@Tchikedy you personally? No. Moreso the fact that whenever this movie is just mentioned, there is a flood of people proclaiming it to be the prophecy that came true, despite the fact that reality is the polar opposite (flynn effect).
wislon effect > flynn effect. flynn effect is statistical, no gains in g@@DeHerg
I love the little inside jokes y'all have at the beginning of ever video. It's super cute.
Wouldn't wonder if in another video Simone starts with "Welcome to Cinebinge, I love you".
"Welcome to Costco. I love you"
Thanks to this movie anything I see with electrolytes elicits a "It's got what plants crave" every time.
Throw down that little hand gesture when you say it too
"You might as well just fuckin do it."
I don't know if I've EVER heard her use a curse worse on this channel before....
Edit: Nevermind, I remember she does say "holy shit" a lot. But most of the time, I imagine her with the Canadian "jeepers" and "golly" and stuff.
"We don't need to blur that - it has no defined ridges!?!?!!!!"
What a world 😂
that is some very special knowledge to have. i wonder what their dreams are like.
The TV streaming and ads predate Idiocracy because George Orwell wrote about similar personalised advertising and television in his novel 1984 which was written in 1949.
"The garbage bit was bit concerning." Drinks from huge plastic water bottle.🤣🙄😶🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think it had electrolytes
That water bottle barely fit in the frame, it was bigger than her
The only comedy in history to become a documentary.
This movie isn't a comedy, it's a documentary and we should all be terrified
I would say this is the most prophetic film ever made. Most of what was presented here has, or is becoming a reality right now. I can´t wait for part II !
This movie was buried by the studio because of the companies hating how their logos were used after they gave permission.
Good men of business tend to be bad sports. 🧐
"The garbage thing is a bit concerning..." (drinks from plastic bottle)
This movie still has so much relevance today. Frightening.
Mike Judge said he had everyone wear Crocs because it was the dumbest shoe a person could wear. At the time they were still being marketed as a comfortable boating shoe. Now they're everywhere.
This movie is actually an allegory for our world today, having already been dumbed-down for generations.
Omg finally lol. There's a shortage of reactions to this movie on for some reason.
The cast is all hilarious especially Dax shepherd. So hard to quote this movie when it's still a bit of a cult classic. People are always like oh it's so true and it's prophetic but it's really just funny as hell.
The names get me everytime. Beef Supreme, frito penedjo and of course Dwayne Herbert elizondo mountain dew Camacho.
I would vote for President Camacho in a second over the options we have now.
President Camacho is a nut but he looks for solutions for problems which is much more than we can say now
I saw this when it first came out on video.
My best friends and I quote the movie often.
It's sad how much this movie has become more and more realistic.
This movie was funny when it released, now this movie is freaking scary looking at the people nowadays
It's a paradox. Although there were all kinds of stupid things happening in the film, the film itself was very thoughtful and intelligent.
I like to imagine this, Wall-E, and The Matrix, in that order, are a trilogy.
14:15 - Dude on the right, who says, "He won a contest and got to be a cabinet member" is Michael Bolton from Office Space (another of Mike Judge's projects). You know, I'm not going to lie, given Idiocracy and Office Space, and Beavis and Butthead Do America, I'm kind of surprised there hasn't been a King of the HIll movie.
Mike Judge predicted social media.
The person in charge of costumes for this movie was asked to find a pair of shoes that only a planet of idiots would wear, with a tight budget they turned to little start up companies with little to no notoriety coming across the crocs and now we have a huge portion of the population that see them as good shoes. life works in funny ways sometimes haha
Fun fact: i got this in my recommendations a day after Trump has won the elections. Coincidence? :D (Also i've seen this movie ages ago and honestly, it seems more and more like a prophecy by every day)
This is one of my favorite documentaries.
Its Happening !!!
Given current events in the US, this film is directly relevant again.
Then again, you could say that most of the time.
This movie literally scares the shit out of me. It’s way too real.
Cool Hand Luke (1967)- Paul Newman 😎
Papillon (1973)- Steve McQueen / Dustin Hoffman🦋
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)- Paul Newman / Robert Redford🤠
One of the funniest and most terrifying movies ever.
1:30am here in far north QLD but had to stay up for this... SOOOO glad you guys reacted to this! Thanks for that
One of my favourite films...And introducing CROCS to the world.
I can definitely see progression of their editing haha. i just came from forest gump one of their early movies.
I love this movie.
It's got electrolytes!
Like a Bantha!
It's got what audiences crave!
I come to you from the future (Aug 15 2024) Hulk Hogan was at a presidential rally. and Crocs which were chosen because "who would wear these?" are super popular.
Idiots looking up tariffs AFTER they voted.
God help us. Film was a warning.
The same tarrif biden expanded on throughout the administration
