- Ice camping has gotten more popular over the past few ice seasons with anglers looking for ways to stay out on the ice in their shelters. This is a great option especially early in the ice fishing season when anglers can’t drive or bring dropdowns out on the ice yet. If you are thinking about using your hub shelter for ice camping, make sure to check out this video from Ice Team Pro Barb Carey for some tips and tricks for spending a night on the ice!
*Great lightweight shelter. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s love how it blocks the light from outside. It was a pain to open the first time but now that it is broke in goes up easy..*
Love it. Good stuff!
Wish Clam would do removable windows or install stove vents in the roof like some of the other manufacturers are doing. Now I'm cutting holes in my hub shack to run a stove vent pipe.
Pretty sure CO detector should be lower to the ground, right?
Ideally 6 inches from your breathing area but that hot air will rise so the monitor is fine where its at.
I've tried winter camping with a buddy heater... there was no way to get the hub warm enough to be comfortable without having increased co2 levels. My recommendation is to research the chinese diesel heaters. They provide a vented source of safe heat.
Some good tips,
Wish you could remove windows or put a wood stove in without wrecking your windows
Is there a floor for the x400 thermal pop up?
How is the material against rain? Leaks?
Hi there. Great channel. I just bought a pop up ice shack (non insulated) and it’s full of condensation. I’m afraid of packing it up while it’s wet on the inside. Any suggestions?
Just make sure to air it out when you get home
Looking at the floor for X600. How do you use the internal ice anchor points when also using the floor?
We recommend only using the external anchor points off the hubs when anchoring down a hub shelter to the ice. That way it is more stable in the wind.
