Well very few people recognize icons. They're blinded by the sparkle cause the glitter refracts the true light. At least we found him long ago and have always enjoyed what he's said and made us feel.
@4orrcountry A bit of rain scared people away from seeing 1 of the greatest musicians America has ever produced? If I had opportunity to see the Dr I would never have passed it up.
Dr. John was a good friend of Duane Allman's, and was at his funeral in Macon GA in late 1971. Also Dr. John appeared on Gregg Allman's great DVD 'All My Friends' from 2012. Mac was one of the all time greats!
As a trombone player and teacher, I'm very critical of other professional trombonists. So I am very excited to watch and listen to her play. She is awesome!!
Couldn't agree more. I only found Dr. Johns's music a few years ago & sadly he had already passed away. So now find these concerts on TH-cam and listen retrospectively
I had the honor of seeing Dr. John perform at the Jefferson Center. in Roanoke, Va around the same time as this show.; great show! He can still play blues and boogie-woogie piano as well as anybody. The lady that played horn played at the show I saw with a medical boot halfway up her leg, and she was great there too. I was just aware of Dr. John when I saw The Last Waltz in 1978. I'm so grateful to the producers of that movie; I discovered so much great music and artists like Dr. John.
Drove up from Eugene to see the Dr. John and the Nite Trippers. Have not see him in a full concert although I have been a fan since the 70's. I've seen him do a few songs at fest. In any event I loved the concert and all the members!! Thank you.
Nice relaxing day I read his autobiography full of life music and stories only he could tell. One of scores of New orleans musicians filtering their life blood back to the soil they were born into
I came here for Dr. John - but was totally blown away by Sarah Morrow!! Wow, what a talent! I'm going to be seeking out more videos of her. Check out her website: sarahmorrow.com/about
Dr John the embodiment of jazz great akin to ray Charles Louie Armstrong and Louie prima. Ambassador for the jazz luminaries lead belly, slim Harpo. jelly roll Morton and Jerry led Lewis ragtime Dixieland bluegrass jazz of preservation hall and Commodores palace.
This shit would have been incredible if the drummer had laid off the toms so much and played some bass and snare and hats and they had a percussion player.
So few people there. It’s astounding. Dr. John is a national treasure and the music and bands he puts together are always such high quality.

I am amazed at so few people ...it hurts
Was overcast, threat of rain.

It's a big audience area though. There are a few hundred people in front of the stage, every medium sized club would have been packed.

Saw him in London a couple of times .... soooo glad I did. I found him just ... mezmarising. Once seen, NEVER forgotten.
The woman background singer on trombone totally enhances "Such a Night". She totally rocks my favorite Dr, John song. That is the best version ever.
she's my favorite, watching her groove away on right place, wrong time is such a mood-fixer.
Fabulous concert. Love the doctor. And man...that girl can play the trombone! Wow!

Roger Whitacre Isn’t the proper term “tromboners?”
@@michaelfleming8490 She is Sara Morrow, and not only the trombone player but the band arranger live and co producer of the last Dr. Albums!
@@michaelfleming8490 are you trying to be a "dick" ?

My God! What I wouldn't give to have played in this band!
What a small crowd. How sad. This guy was a legend. I saw him live at a free concert on Jackson Square in New Orleans in 1987. Amazing.
Great show of a living legend, I'm glad he recreated the Night Trippers music before he retires, it was my favorite period by him. Nicely shot too.
Love this...”Such a Night”! My favorite song of the legendary doctor.
The live version is the best.

Great show!! Loved it!
Mac rocking those Professor Longhair licks! Rest in peace!
One of my favorites. Saw him at the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando in the early 70s.
Superbe prestation !
С гитарой от 27:00.И Сара поквакала классненько на~54:26! Молодцы !
Hey, I think I just saw one of my college Humanities professors there!
Roger Whitacre I had no idea the trombone could makes sounds like that. She makes it look so easy.
I forgot to add...the concert was in Tacoma WA at the Pantages.
RIP
1:55 It was nice of Amy Schumer to come up and adjust the microphone for Dr. John.
Fifteen fucking times😂😂
musico real,excelente,no se vende como clapton,farner,santana,joe cocker,alvin lee,siendo excelentes.
my dog is dangerous legend doc *
Can someone tell the show stealing chick to give the concert back to the good doctor! Miss you Mac!
She must have been blowing a few things to get away with it, because she's not the greatest ( not bad but not the best)
@@micheledeangelis8222 dude. She literally produced half a dozen of his albums

Jerry Lee doesn't belong here, no way.
UN CAPO

Agreed. As talented as this drummer is, the Nite Trippers got so much better after he was replaced by Herlin Riley
That woman in annoying...
