@@Fuzeha I once got the french bi plane with the 20mms, I'm crying to this day, the only playable way to fly the thing is if you send a burst of 4 rounds which isn't really a burst
About the energy retention, my father was an aircraft mechanic for 10 years in the 1980s-1990s in the French navy, he worked on F-8E (FN) and F-8P fighters, and his theory is that Dassault took some inspiration from the F-8 when it comes to the wings and elevators' shape and placement on the F-1 ; if you look at them from above they look very similar, the F-1 just has a thinner nose in comparison, he also told me that from the ground, when the F-8 and F-1 did some maneuvres (I know which ones, but I know their French names and they're oddly specific so I don't want to spend time trying to find the english equivalent) they sounded the same, and not talking about the engine, but about the noise the air makes going around and hitting the airframe.
PS : for those who don't know, the F-8 Crusader has one of the best energy retention in the game (when it comes to 10.0-11.0 jets).
The F8 doesn't even come close to being one of the best.

Typically run 530Es when I’m in an uptier, and when I fight 10.3-11.0 mainly I use the 530 F since many of them climb without chaff

@@TruthAndReconciliationlower br players are less aware/don't really know how to avoid sarh missiles so they're pretty much free kills. At same/higher br IR missiles are more useful because you can launch then maneuver away quickly and it doesn't ping RWR
The F1 has some very nice advantages which are MTI with IFF, target indication in hud, alot of ECM, good multi role capeabilities, supercruise, good fuel economy. This all is just quite low on the priority list in RB but actually makes this plane one of the best ones in its BR in SIM mode.

I had a very positive grinding experience using this plane. It does everything good enough but doesn't excel in anything. Which makes it decent to fly. I now happily fly the M2K, favorite plane to fly in WT.
What loadout did you run ? Full base bombing with the 3*1000 bombs or A2A ?

I always ran A2A only. More enjoyable for me. Also pretty good CAS due to its large quantity of flares.
@@Fortheweak13 2 2000 lbs bombs, 2 Magick 2's, 1 530E is the ideal loadout. The two 2000 lb bombs will take out a base in full and then you get an extra A2A missile on top of the magick 2's.

Ive been having a blast in it. Lots of 4+ kill games in 11.3 or below matches, uptiera its basicly the magic 2s getting kills. Its been pretty good over all for me.
Of the 30 or so matches I've played with it since Magic 2 got buffed, about 90% of them are full uptiers.
In a downtier sure the magics are good, but you still need to be able to maneuver well to use them at their peak, and this thing's flight performance is still godawful.
@codyfox2876 I've been having good luck in uptiers with the magic 2s, sometimes it outright ignores pre flares, granted 12.0 games usually see me dieing after those 2 magics. Can't wait for them to make a new rank so everything isn't dragged into 4th gen games lol
I bought this drunk at full price when you made the first video calling it shit. Proceeded to play it for 150 matches with a 2+kd and enjoyed it more than any phantom in the game

@@datsunalzheimer yes… better in practically every way except it can’t pull as hard. PD radar and HMD with 4 aim7f’s and 4 aim9g’s while carrying enough bombs to destroy multiple bases or enough rockets to destroy a base (rockets give better rewards per base if you didn’t know). Mirage radar missiles are terrible, PD with aim7f’s is a million times better and it has 4 of them instead of 2. 7f’s are also better than magic 2’s overall but even the aim9g’s are some of the best rear-aspect missiles in the game. It’s easily better

for me personally I like the Mirage F1C, I take the 2x30mm Gunpods with air targets belt + 2xMagic 2's it works like a charm for me

It is a great low pressure plane to fly. You make sure you get 2 good magic 2 launches, strap 2 bombs if you want. You can out dog fight phantoms, and not beat yourself up about losing dogfights. Overall a great grinder and *gasp* good French plane.
Not really; it’s low pressure because nobody expects it to do good, because it isn’t good it’s mid at best. Jets like the f4j and f4s are far better for both air to air and ground attacking. Mig23mld is also far better for air to air

The Super 530F's are definitely pretty mid simply due to their lack of any resistance to countermeasures. But I will say, it is quite the feeling when you STT someone at altitude in pulse and see when they pop countermeasures that they have no chaff. The devilish grin you get as you realize there is no way they're dodging the missile you're about to shoot that them is truly something else. Those Magic-2's being able to face 10.3 on a frame as capable as the F.1 also has to be one of the funniest jokes I have seen from high tier jets. Things are just disgusting.
I have been playing this plane for awhile now and the way I play it is - I carry 2 magics - 1 530F, 1 530E and 1 gun pod. The 530Fs are super heavy and even the one gunpod makes a big difference in performance. I launch my 530F at a target up high and for some reason I keep finding people who dont notice it from below - dont flare chaff - or dont even carry chaff and end up getting a kill, if it doesnt hit well at least I've shedded my heavy missile. The E I kinda keep for situational stuff - if you know the right time to use it, it will do its job and being smokeless it sneaks up on people.
After that I go down into the furball and brawl with magics and gunpods and because of the gun pod you get more spread and just shred people. With the buff they gave it its honestly ok now. I have decent matches and can actually make good money and RP so, on sale its worth picking up.

Honestly this is one of my favorite premiums aside from the F5C and Mig 23 ML. I can get at least 3 kills a games in it. 2 with the magic 2's and one more with the 530e or 530f. I don't know why you'd ever run the regular 530 missiles since the IR version (530e) has a full minute more of guidance time with the rest of the specs being roughly the same. I've had good luck with the guns too, I usually get a really good crit or an insta kill.
I swear the Magic 2's got shadow nerfed just after they got IRCCM, they barely resist flares now

2 2000lbs bombs, 2 magic 2s and the r530e is a great kit. one base, at least one kill, sometimes more and it gives a shit ton of rp.
Picked this up with the sale because I wanted to grind the French tree and it's one of my favorite planes in the game! F-5c/e still is my favorite but this is just behind it
I always see conflicting information on wether it's worth it or not and I might get it myself

@@marrymekatsuyait’s mid at best, I have every plane in 3 tech trees. F4s is way better, mig23ml as well. It only has 2 decent missiles and the flight performance isn’t nearly good enough to make up for it
530F seems a bit weird, sometimes it ignores chaff (it should do that anyway because irl it had chaff rejection).
the 530F does have an ingame chaff rejection function, but how it works is really vague and seems somewhat situational. sometimes ive had it inexplicably reject chaff where an AIM-7M would fail to, and vice versa just as easily
Gaijin just decided that anything CW would be op and anything with a pulsed signal would be shit, that's just it.
@@blessthismessssDoes it depend on if the chaff is in front of the plane relative to the missile? That would make sense if so, cause it would be like an ir missile getting flared. Probably means that head-ons are more viable than side or rear with it, unlike with the Magics where it’s the opposite due to the temperature difference between front and rear aspect.
the missile has better chaff rejection than the radar on the plane is my guess, the Mirage F1 radar goes for chaff quite easily
@@kommandantkillcode Nah, the missile is completely wrong. It will go for chaff even if its hidden by plane itself. Gaijin staff is absurdly dumbs and doesnt understand that even god damn pulse missile needs atleast speed/range gate. R530EM had range rate circuit to filter out chaff.... seeker was AD26. Surprise surprise, S530F uses super AD26. Literally same thing only improved with better ECCM but gaijin is dumb as hell and wont take R530EM manual for S530F even though we know S530F uses improved R530EM seeker.
11.3 also sees Mig23 MLx, which is still so very strong, I just grinded the entirety of my german tree with the MLA and that thing just still works, and it's just so fun to dogfight new F16 players or just the standard run of the mill F4S who can't find their left from their right. Yeah Im not sure why you'd play the F1C in such an environment

I know this channel is heavily focused on Air RB and gunfighter planes, but it’s French like criticism makes for good report on whether or not to get a plane for SIM. The F1C-200 is a solid purchase for SIM battles.

I love flying this because I have to prove my skill to the server. I'm normally the last alive in clutch games and am sending as many back to the hangar as possible by hiding.

I play the mirage F1 with the gunpods, it works quite nice. Since the S530F are useless and you want to keep speed so you won't turn the gunpods work quite nice for catching mid turns.
I'm gonna try this out :) The Mirage is definitely MILES better than the ADTW I've been bomber spamming, but I still have to get used to it
I legit chose to grind rank 6 france with the Narval over buying this thing, and even after the FM changes I think that was a smart choice.
Now we can think about this : there is irl somes Morrocan Mirage F1 MF2000, that where modernised with the RDY radar and replaced the two Super 530F by two Mica missiles, either EM or IR. This seems as fantastic as terrifying.

I waited a long while for this plane to finally go on sale so I decided to buy it this time around. I've enjoyed it. Definitely can't be aggressive in it, but if you like playing in more of a support role it's terrific.

Grinded french rank 4-7 with this before the flight performance change, what i did was take min fuel(think it is 8-10 min i dont remember), rush to a base and use whatever fuel i have left to try and get 1-2 kills in and it worked pretty well for me. Still its only about 8k rp per match on average but considering its french id say its pretty good

I actually think this is one of the better 11.3 premiums. Consistently brings in the research points. Much prefer it to the F-4S, but don't like it quite as much as the MiG-23ML.
Yeah, mig is just better (and also have proper RWR, mirage one is bearable only because it detects 2cm radars as well (that mig23 and 21 are using).
The f-4s and mig-23ml are just better. No clue why you would prefer the mirage

The supers are ok at range but don't fire them within 1.5 miles or they won't have time to hit full maneuvering.

Just gonna use this as my public forum to vent some. Idk if its just the F104 A or every 9.3 is like this right now but 97% of my games are full uptiers to 10.3 in it. The other two percent? On tiers, two matches. Not a single downtier not even once. God I love all aspects missiles and not being able to outrun MIG 21's so much its unreal.

I got this as my first premmium and my entry to top tier, man, what a ride, i fell into a love hate relationship with it. But putting a Magic 2 in somebody ass is still a good feeling, overall ok plane.
This thing is 11.3? Yeah I know the Magic missiles are deadly but... I regurarly take these things out with my F-5C. I really thought they were like 10.7 or 11.0...
That's because the F-5C is completely broken, forgiving and basically holds your hand. It is criminally under-tiered.

I’d run all IRs if I were you. Reduces complexity and realistically the 530Es are just as likely to hit as the Supers. Not to mention it allows you to go defensive earlier which is common with this plane. Typically I just use them to force a maneuver though.

If we are playing a 11.3 for Magic 2 and lots of flares, this is the 2000D but way worse.
Using the Mirage F1C-200, you can grind from rank I to the Mirage 4K in ~35 simulator matches: ask me how I know.
The 530E is a mid range missile, if you're firing it closer than 5km then you're kinda doing it wrong. It isn't slow, it just takes a couple seconds to get up to speed, and it'll hit targets well out of range of the Magics.
Could you revisit the A5C?
dont worry, it is still very mid, I never had a single downtier on it, but you can still bomb a base and get a kill if you go around the center of the map, a tip is using rockets instead of bombs, the 4 x rocket pods destroy a full base and allow you to carry an R530E in the center pylon, but you are slower than if you carried the 3 x 2000lb bombs

there's multiple reports using IRL sources stating it could filter out chaff but Gaijin can't code it (they tried and made it worse) so it will stay like that
Ive been saying that the F1s need to go to 11.0 for over a year.
Its decent, constant uptiers are a bit sad but it looks cool as hell to me and coming from Italy with Tornados and Starfighter this can at least turn a bit
Do you think you could “revisit” the F3H Demon? I know it’s pain, but you do cover painful planes pretty often, and you haven’t covered the Demon in a long time.
I still think the Mirage f1c-200 is a god awful premium, especially compared to the f4s which gets more useable missiles, a better radar (and airframe, engines, etc.) and the exact same BR.

Mirage 2000D is probably just better than this thing now that it gets a gunpod, you only lose the three useless big boy missiles but gain Mirage 2000 flight performance, just a bit heavier
I keep dying to the magic 2s... they're unflarable it feels like. At least the plane being mid balances it out I guess.

Defyn, please use Magic 2's without the Super 530Fs they are dead weight anyways. If you do you'll have the flight performance to somewhat dogfight an F-14 and the engine power of an F-16
After last few patches Radar missiles are pretty great and if someone decide to fly too high its 100 perc. kill also magic's 2 are incredible fast in game so you can kill even good player. Very very regularly i got like 3 kills in this plane so if youre newbie i think secure 1 kill for game wont be a problem. If you avoid F16 youre master on air. I like F1C.
No lol the radar missiles are terrible. 1 chaff being all it takes to make it miss at 11.3 is not good in any way.

I didn't record it but I killed a yh7 with an 530f in a head on he qas turn left and right while chaffing and it still snacked him, my guess is bv he never fully notched it and we were at 3km

I want to hear your opinion on this.. i have better luck spearheading than playing like a vulture in f1c.. by the time i come from the side mostly the team is dead. while the performance is bad to kite properly, 252 flares comes in handy. 5sec auto for prechaffing and manual for flaring ir missile, the only problem is dodging gun. And because you are spearheading bringing allies behind you, its become a bit easier to dodge which only leave the blackout problem.
