    Awesome review and good to see the new guns are really high quality! I was wondering if you had any thoughts on the Titan elite rollers? I was looking to get a bluewater roller and looks like this may be a contender with the handle and ceramic bearing roller head. The only thing I would swap out is probably a carbon barrel.

    Good to see a video from you again majdq8! I would like to ask you (and the commenters):
    I have the MVD predator zeso open 100 speargun (which is more like a 105 speargun due to extra length in the handle) and I was thinking of using a 145cm shaft instead of a 140cm shaft, but I cannot decide if I should use a 6.75mm or 7mm shaft. If you have the time it would be very helpful to hear what you think! (or anyone else who would like to)

    Good day, have sometimes had inconsistent shots using shorter spears which just clears the muzzle. Note the final version of the titan elite had a 2 inch extended shark prod. Could it be that the flopper is hitting the edge of this prod and this is affecting the trajectory of the spear as the flopper is not being adequately pushed back? Also can the prod as a whole affect the hydrodyamics of the spear leaving the rails. A friend has the roller version with no prod, and is consistently accurate. May be thinking to remove the prod.

    Hey Majdq8 good to see a new pool test! That is one of those HUNT shafts isn't it....? I am looking to get a few of the centered double flopper shafts lately but am wondering if the floppers come tuned from the factory...? It seems to be a pain and almost impossible to tune floppers that are on a recessed shaft.

    Fantastic having you back !
    It seems indeed to be a nice speargun!
    A question, if you have the chance, please do a test of a Meandros Argo Bluewater 130. What a imprsief speargun, with finest engeniring long band stretch, pin roller mech, high handle, 3 band, for sure the best pipegun at the moment IMHO.(cuttlefish shape).

    Majdq8, I greatly enjoy your videos and consistent testing methodology, thank you! Did this Titan have their Modified Open Track installed, and if so did you think it helped improve accuracy over the standard open tracks other manufacturers have?

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      This was a very early beta version and I made some suggestions that I think were implemented in the release version. The one I tested had an open track and I think they are releasing versions with both. I can assure you that having a closed track will not make the gun shoot more accurate. With ET you need to be careful and not choose a shaft diameter that is close to the track hole as it might cause severe friction as the shaft is exiting ... and thus much less shaft velocity and performance. There are some advantages to ET such as easier loading of gun etc... but I personally prefer open track spearguns.

    • @christopherlao8549
      @christopherlao8549 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@majdq8 that's good to know about ET. Mako has released the Titan with their Modified Open Track that has a W-shaped groove, as opposed to the standard smooth groove (picture on their site). Hi mate, really love your vids! Sorry for the off topic question- do you have an input about rigging the shooting line to one of the shark fins vs the back of the spear in terms of drag? Thanks!

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The most accurate in testing is hooking the line to the rest tab. Obviously if you shoot in holes you can compromise a little in accuracy and use the tail connection as it is easier to pull shaft out. But the best performance in accuracy and shaft flight is connecting to the rest tab on a shark finned shaft.

    If I'm going to buy the Mako Titan Elite, it's just because of you mate! You are a treasure for the spearfishing communities bro, thank you ;) Please I have a couple of questions(many)!! I have watched your test videos on the Pathos sniper several times now and I'm going to change the setup of my sniper 115 to the following: Hunt BlackOut Plus shaft with cone, 155cm 7mm, one flopper and pencil tipped! 14mm Primeline Premium Small I.D. stretch 360%! And also changing for the D'angelo lll to Ermes-Sub sear kit.. Any additional advice? What do you think about the shaft? Does adding one more flopper affects the accuracy? I have searched a'lot about the discontinued Sporasub America One but found only so called, Sporasub/Omer America with HRC-flopper, I know that the flopper of the Omer America is horrible but does this HRC-flopper match the sporasub shafts you recommended?... What I'm just worried about is if I have to modify the enclosed track, I wish you added a video about that :)

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With the Sniper ET best is to use a 6.75mm shaft as a 7mm shaft will reduce velocity too much. The Sporasub shaft with the HRC flopper is amazing but the Omer America shaft flopper is pure crap although the shaft itself is good. Also the DR trigger from Ermessub for the D2 handle is very troublesome and I did not have good results with it and gave up on that. The DR trigger made for the D1 Handle is excellent though. For the Sniper I would do the hard work and modify it for a full DR trigger. Removing the ET of the Sniper and putting a full DR trigger on there is a lot of work, but if done properly is well worth it!

      @fadizakzouk2084 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@majdq8 I have already ordered the Ermessub sear kit, will see how it works out with such setup otherwise I will upgrade to DR-trigger. I have also watched your videos about customizing the grip and ordered some extra lightweight epoxy and same friction layer you are using, but I will skip the part about the CF-tape.. When it comes to the ET on the sniper what do you advice? I guess it's just sanding it down 2-3 mm manually and it will be a rail? When Im done with my setup I will post a video about it ;)

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fadizakzouk2084 Go with a full DR mod like in this video th-cam.com/video/K-sN4pQkWSU/w-d-xo.html The sear kit is still a friction trigger and won't give the same results as a full DR trigger. With ET I think the effort to remove the ET is too much. Just keep your shafts at 6.75mm diameter or less and you won't even feel the ET.

      Oh I have tried many many invert roller guns. Many of the invert roller guns out there I have helped in their testing and design. A properly designed invert roller is a very powerful and useful tool ... but it is incredibly difficult to setup correctly so that it shoots straight and with high performance. The rubber bands I can get is sigalsub Extreme 14.5 I have no options to get 14 mm rubber bands , shaft 7 millimeters of sigalsub HRC or do you have a recommendation for something else.
    The barrel length is 107 or 95, I would happy for a recommendation on spear length and rubber tension 360% or something else.
    Or maybe it's better a shaft of a different thickness because of the rubber bands I just do not fish in an environment with large fish.

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes sure ... tone down the loading !!! A 7mm shaft doesn't need much to get it to Terminal Velocity ... so if you go over a certain point you will just destabilize your shaft and get less velocity and much less accuracy. Sig bands are not very elastic so go with around 330% to start and move up slowly while observing how it is changing your shot accuracy and profile. If gun starts shooting low and shaft starts to hit target non parallels, you have to just lengthen your band length a little.

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes aim point is the orange circle and that target I had is with black square set to 6 meters ... so at 6 meters a 7mm shaft that is shooting optimally should end up in the black square. With heavier shafts like 8.5mm and 3 bands, the shaft drop is much less. Remember this is in a pool shooting parallel to target so shaft drop is exaggerated. When I am in the sea hunting fish the shaft is only about 1/3 of what it is in the pool at same distance. I am not sure why but I think it is that fish are usually shot at lower angle and so less gravity drop.

    Based on your tests, recommendation and positive endorsement just bought the mako titan elite and disassembled the handle and barrel for travel for diving trip abroad. Was quite surprised to see that the ermes trigger is secured in place by only one pin, to the back and not two pins as all other similar applications. Bearing in mind that the ad says that the trigger handle 1000 lbs or more than 3 rubbers, do you consider this one pin set up a safe and acceptable approach. If not, what is your recommendation for use?

    • @majdq8
      @majdq8  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't worry about the pin as the trigger is actually held by the mech pocket of the handle and pin is only there to keep it in place. The main load is on the shaft sear and that pin is a very robust 5mm pin. The 3 bands can easily be handled by the trigger and probably easily can handle double that load.
