A SUPRISING CALL FROM MY SURGEON | Recovery update

- It has been three weeks since my operation to remove the primary neuroendocrine tumour and lymph node from my small intestines and this week I had a surprising phone call with my surgeon.
I was expecting to the phone call to be a general catch up to see how my recovery from surgery to remove some of my cancer was going. Instead, the topic of conversation was focused on what the future plans for my treatment are.
Pathology results from my tumour had returned and he was able to give me an idea how fast my cancer is growing. This is invaluable information to help determine future treatment options.
In this video I discuss what the timeline for the next steps to hopefully becoming cancer free will involve, and importantly, when they might happen.

This is all very good news! I know the surgery is daunting, and recovery will probably involve good days and bad days...but don't take your eye off the prize....to be totally cancer free! I've subscribed to your channel, Peter, and will keep you and your family in my prayers as you travel this journey. I'm no stranger to cancer...diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in 2008...many surgeries and 4 rounds of chemo, plus endless medication later...I'm still here and still cancer free. I could not have done it without support from friends, family and total strangers all over the world....so this is my chance to give back. God bless you!

Do not rush to increased blood flow by to much Excercise that may help cancer cells if any left, otherwise it'll die naturally by immune system. No Sugar, no matter what that is one of the major thing.
Things will get even better. Keep fighting.

Glad to see your feeling better. Thankfully, you have the sloooooooow growing type.
I hope there's more awareness of this cancer in the future. The *flushing* is one of the biggest signs and doctors need to be more aware. I look back at pictures of my mom and she had flushing for about 10 years. She was only diagnosed with the neuroendocrine cancer after she got breast cancer. The breast cancer actually saved her life. My mom has tumors all over liver, gallbladder and small intestine. They took 3ft, plus 18 lymph nodes, removed gallbladder also.
That is a long time to have been struggling with flushing. Making these videos is partly motivated by increasing awareness of this cancer.

Excellent news re your tumour being Grade One . Of course it's very difficult to have surgery hanging over you but fingers doubly crossed you can manage with the one liver surgery. Glad to hear you're feeling a lot better and enjoying some walks . Getting out can be very therapeutic both physically and mentally as you said. Try and get as fit as you can before round two which is hopefully your route to full recovery. Take very good care of yourself and all best wishes to you and yours .

That's great news. Positive news. You can do this I know the thought of surgery can be scary and the slow process of recovery is depressing. But try and lot at the end goal all the time. Your in my prayers stay strong
If I was you I would try to get to the bottom of what might have caused this cancer in the first place. Your favorite products might need a good look at. Stop using deodorant spray & that...Keep all them sorts of crap away from ya body. Don't breath in any fumes. laters!

Congratulations on your staging! Excellent news. I hope that the Lanreotride has shrunk the liver tumors. Mine have had a significant impact on my Chromogranin A numbers even after just a couple shots. Number four next Friday.

Above everything what i like most is how positive you are, I think in general we tend to moan and whinge about the littlest things but it just puts into perspective how unimportant they are.

What a great positive video Peter. Thrilled to hear your news. Just the fact the cancer is a slow stage 1 is very reassuring. The liver is an amaxing organ. Someone I know had virtually their entire liver wiped out through a virus. It totally regenerated over the weeks. Incredibly fast. It sounds like your surgeon is really up with everything concerning your cancer, and, will do a great job in kicking your cancer out.... Must be great to know by maybe mid/late summer you should be tumour free, and with it being slow growing you don't have to worry about an aggressive attack again.

So fantastic for you. I had grade 2 cancer but luckily no chemo. So great that you listened (and persisted) to your body in the first instance when the flushes occurred. 70-75% liver removal in one go sounds tough. But if you can do it with no growth probably better to get in once. When they go in multiple times they have to deal with scare tissues. Assume they did not see cancer in the lymph nodes?
NHS treatment teams are the best. Your face looks fuller and fitter. Yes!

Hey, Peter. Seriously. I haven't asked because, as I'm absolutely sure you were acutely aware that more definitive pathology would be be forthcoming since your surgery, and I've been trying hard to put those awaited results out of my mind until you got word.
First, you look absolutely terrific. Really.
Second, the news about the grading of this tumor is just brilliant, and I'm sure you also know this shifts significantly to the positive getting rid of this shit. This is simply wonderful news! I'd buy you a pint, but for now, this information is friggin' awesome.
