Love these blind taste tests! Yes, do some winged game. And wow, Randy actually did pretty good considering the only two he missed were basically the same (whitetail vs mule deer). Had you only had one of those and then had bear, bison, or something else, he likely would have aced it.
Very neat put some turtle, alligator, to the test with the wild game
Keep doing them just the way you have. With friends and smiles.
One man’s cube steak is another man’s fillet minyon
Randy did pretty good being that he only mixed up the whitetail and the muley. Those two can taste nearly identical if they’re from the same area, feeding on the same things.
What fun. I never have that many different species in the freezer at one time, but that looks like such a fun experience to share with friends and family. Good for you guys to set it up and keep it up. Even if it is just for the enjoyment of each other.
Backstrap is one of the mildest cuts. Maybe repeat the test with a tri-tip or somewhere around there instead?
This is awesome. You guys should open this up to the whole town or country. Do a charity thing $50 a table, whatever the number! Film it. It would be exciting. I would definitely show up haha. Keep up the good work guys.
We've played around with an idea like this! In a city like Bozeman, I'm sure we'd have a great turnout! Maybe something for the summer or before next hunting season?
@@Fresh_Tracks Yeah that would be fun. Let me know if you guys are moving forward with that idea, I like planning events like that. If you guys need help let me know.
Well 4/5 is not possible, so 3/5 is second best possible score
Love the blind test. Maybe you add taste best to worse as well. That could really get interesting. Keep up the great work, love the channel.
We did include a "best tasting" section on our scorecards but we found it hard to articulate in the video so that section, as they say, "hit the cutting room floor". But the majority favorite was elk followed by whitetail. Randy blindly chose Pronghorn as his favorite. Thanks for watching and the comment. - Blake
I love these thank you. It just proves a point that anyone that says different game animals taste bad or good. well...
Add store bought beef and bison! It would be interesting to see how that would change the taste test…
The best tasting game is the one that don't know what hit him...Very cool, thanks
Try it without any salt maybe. Keep each animal as natural as possible... looks like it was a fun test and some people (Randy) learned a lesson or two haha! Fun video!
This would be great for winged game too. I think it would be a lot easier but fun too. Pheasant, sharpie, blue, dove, duck and throw some chicken and turkey in aswell
Salt , Pepper , Garlic!
Cool concept. I suggest one change: rate relative preferred best taste as well.
Thanks for watching and the comment. We did have the crew rate their favorite cuts but I found it hard to articulate in the video so that part was dropped. Anyhow, majority of the crew voted Elk as their favorite. Randy blindly chose Pronghorn as his favorite.
@Fresh_Tracks thank you for replying. I live in Southern AZ and eat northern AZ elk, Coues deer, and javelina. By appearance and texture, the moose and the pronghorn looked best to me. Great video, keep up the cooking videos.
It seems that whatever wild game meat you don’t have always tastes better than what you do have access to. I like them all, even livery duck and goose. So far, I haven’t figured out how to prepare desert sage grouse and enjoy it as it tasted super sage!
This looks fun
You need to have beef as a sample. It would be funny to see if anyone gets that wrong.
Nice tong clicks Kara
Randy didn’t shoot that group 😂
That was fun to watch! I thought Randy was going to ace it...
So did Randy... Since 4 of us scored 3/5, we need to have a tiebreaker!
@@Fresh_Tracks maybe try a mule deer vs whitetail showdown for top honors :)
Would be cool to score the "tenderness" and "texture" differences also
Entertaining for sure!
There is no better meats than elk and moose
Great stuff 👍
Good idea but to be the same you could have used same sized pieces. That way they cook the same based of time and temp.
Have participants cook small strips of each meat type on small open fires, Allow them to spice the meat themselves
Looks like pronghorn was one most got right.my favorite.but a corn fed mn or wi deer is hard to beat.
Love a good corn finished deer!
Great test except I wasn't there !! Keep everything the same…
Need bison to!
Did you folks age Randy's mule deer from last year? The old 2x3
Throw some grass fed beef in there and have people rank which meat the thought tasted the best. See if there is an agreement on which meat taste the best through worst.
Add Beef to this n smart to fix all the same way..
👋 from Texas!
Throw in a pc of moo cow and see if they can pick it out
Now do a small game version and a game bird virsion
That'd be cool! Would love to see people can distinguish between a coot and a mallard
W hitch one tasted the best?
Majority voted for Elk! Randy picked Pronghorn as his favorite
What was everyone's opinion on which was the BEST!
I was hoping you got tased if you didn’t guess the animal correctly.
Am I the only one who came here hoping to see someone get tased?
Would have been awesome if you got tased if you messed up your guesses.
haha no tasers were used. Maybe next time! Spell check goes away when you use all caps..... Thanks for watching! Typo is fixed!
I ate gar this week. Surprisingly delicious. You'll be surprised
Less species but don't tell what the species are
Blind TASE test????
Has @Steven Rinella tried this? I bet he could do it somebody tag him I don't know if MJ e worked please
So which meat was the best????
Majority vote for best cut was Elk! Randy blindly chose Pronghorn as his favorite.
❤ Mathew Single???
Noice first watch
Don't tell people what the meats are. 100% blind. Or do they're all ungulates but make them write which one. But I'd still bet a poor result red meat is red meat and it's delicious.
Who’s paying the gift tax on that “Free” gear package 😅
