    The most common problem with money trees is leaf yellowing. If you are dealing with yellow leaves on your money tree, This can be due to watering your plant too frequently. Watering too often, using a pot with no drainage hole, or letting your money tree sit in a saucer full of water can all contribute to root rot. and the first signs of root rot is Yellowing and browning leaves and drooping. Suffering roots cannot push the proper nutrients or water to the rest of the plant.
    If your money tree leaves are curling and you are noticing wrikles also or if the dirt in your planter appears to be pulling back from the sides of the pot, your plant is probably thirsty. While its good to wait until the top 1 inche of your plant’s soil is dry before watering, you should not allow the pot to entirely bone dry. Money Tree’s roots need moisture to stay healthy. Wrinkled, wavy, or curled Money Tree leaves are a sign of underwatering. This is a relatively early sign of dehydration, and with improved watering, the leaf can still be saved before it discolors or drops.
    You may also face an issue of tree money tree dropping it's leaves. If you recently repottd your plant.It may drop some leaves, give it some time to settle in new environment and soil. Overwatering can also cause leaf dropping, ask yourself. Were you overwatering it recently. Cut back watering, and see if it recovers. cold drafts and pests could also be the reason, you plant dropping its leaves.

    I have a money tree for 18 years. It's got to big can plant it outside in a bigger pot. I do have my China doll plant outside because it got to big. But that is in the ground. It's doing really good. ❤❤❤❤

      If your place is not that cold and chilling and drafty, you can plant money tree outdoors.

      Could be pests or fungal infection or you may be watering too much.

      I think your plant is not having enough light and more water than it needs.

    I have a momey tree with one thick trunk and maybe one healthy tiny Branch left. Can I repot the branch or how can I revive it historically, at first suffered overwatering what has since suffered underwatering. 😢 as I'm out of town a lot

    • @GreenBackyard
      @GreenBackyard  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you want to propagate, you can do that with cutting the branch and put in water with rooting hormone powder. If you want to repot spring and summer is best. Take care of watering, it's best keep on drier side, let the soil always dry almost 40-50% when watering. In spring there's chance your plant is going to shoot new branches and leaves 👍🏻

    Hello , what about if the trunk sheds some bark? I just recently got one , nice gorgeous green leaves… however the trunk is shedding some bark… is this normal or should i be concerned? Thanks x

    • @GreenBackyard
      @GreenBackyard  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is a normal process as the plant grows. But lack of water could also be the reason , so water accordingly. And look close , check or any pests.

    Hello my little dog has ruined a part of the trunk scratching it. I tought it wasn't a problem but it started to loose leafs, they are also turning all brown. May have this problem really been caused by my dog or maybe we give pachira too much water? What can i do to save it?

    • @GreenBackyard
      @GreenBackyard  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Too much scratches also make them sick .I have seen even bigger plants like neem and mango trees die due to animals scratches. If the stems feel mushy while pressing and soil holds moisture longer, and looks wet often. Maybe it's overwaterd. If it's overwaterd the yellow or brown leaves will feel softer, in that case stop watering and let it catch the sunlight more. If you don't see any improvements, repot in fresh potting soil.

    So I have a money tree. It’s not looking good. It’s been bad for a while and I think it might be dead. The branches look brown and some look extremely dry/soft ish on the branch area

    • @GreenBackyard
      @GreenBackyard  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If it's stems are soft to touch. You should check it's root , it may be suffering from root rot. If it's root rot. Transfer into new fresh potting soil, cut dead squishy roots.
      Water less often.

    Hello, according to your video and my observations I likely overwatered my money tree and some leaves are yellowing and droopy. I watered and then began to inspect the soil and found that the soil closest to the trunks is desert dry while also two trees are fused and soft under the soil. I poured hydrogen peroxide and it began to bubble on the trunk. I plan to remove most soil and repot in fresh soil. I hadn't repotted since buying early this year. The tree is about 3 feet tall and the combined (5 trunks) trunk size is about 5" wide. What would you do in this case?

    • @danyelunderwood1119
      @danyelunderwood1119 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The pot size is 10"

    • @GreenBackyard
      @GreenBackyard  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think you need to inspect the roots closely. Look for mushy or very soft roots and trim them. If one or more trees roots are damaged severely, you have to separate it. So the it doesn't spread. Use "3% hydrogen peroxide " spray on the roots plant in fresh potting soil and water less often, provide adequate sunlight. Don't wait for long, do this ASAP

    • @GreenBackyard
      @GreenBackyard  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Only reduce pot size if the roots ball shortens, otherwise go with the same size.

      @@GreenBackyard So the tree with the soft trunk is the one that has two trunks fused together. I cut the entire bottom of the trunk out and the lower portion. They are still intertwined from the middle up. I repotted in the same pot although some roots were lost because many roots are long and thick. I used an aroid mix because that is what I have on hand. Is there a way to save the upper portion of those trees from the rotted trunks?
