      Visha is a bit mentally broken. She is an excellent student in the military academy with good magic to booth. She was raised in a loving family but she exerts her best in work. Tanya became a figure of adoration for her because as she grows weary in the battlefield and suffers from Ptsd, the little girl takes everything like the "perfect" soldier. But Tanya on the otherhand thinks Visha is too excellent as a subordinate and somehow senses her to be a bit twisted.

Refusal orders or not, whims and wishes of soilders or not, they enlisted for duty, and army loathes to let go off them - since they are ureliable, they were given duties and were used by military in semi-productive matter, in a place where they will do little damage, don't drag others with their recklesness, and serve as an example of a disobidient soilder who will get punished - if disobeying orders gets you away from fighting (like into logistics), everyone would disobey, and that would be disasterous, as all can imagine. Giving them combat roles would also be bad, like i mentioned it earlier. In conclusion - boring, inactive, low-priority, yet insanely dangerous position was ideal for that, hence, the pillbox.

    I don't think what she did here was evil at all. She wanted to dismiss them, but they wanted to stay, yet refused to obey orders. A soldier who obeys no orders is a warrior, not a soldier - and an army consists of soldiers, not individual warriors. Such individuals must be discharged from the army, if said army is to perform well. Refusal of an order will, inevitably, cost the lives of many. Yet, they utterly refused to be discharged and so, they forced Tanya's hand. Sure, they could've gone for a court martial, but that would've taken weeks, if not months, all the while costing more and more lives due to the bravado of two idiots.

      What an amazing screwed up way to think. Did you ever actually serve in the miliary?
      Well I did. As an officer, at that. And the point of this scene was to show what an awful, sadistic and uncaring officer Tanya is. An officer who cares about those under their charge would have explained clearly how acting outside of orders and refusing to follow commands in a combat situation can threaten the mission and get their comrades killed. They would have assigned them a duty within the squad or platoon to both discipline and teach them. They would have made the effort to make them better people and more proficient soldiers, especially if they were already clearly competent warfighters.
      Instead, Tanya does what a bad officer would do -- transfer the soldiers to a place where their skills would go to waste and, even more, where she knew they would die. That's the act of a sadist, not an officer.

      You can lead through fear; it's effective, to a point. But if you want a cohesive unit that will perform well in the worst of situations, you need to lead through inspiration. That's more work, but it's time well spent.

      @@user-pi1lb4tf2f one reason i love tanya the evil is that it in a certain way mirrors the distheist view. If God defines good, then good is not objective, but simply a result of the subjective whims of a being that holds power over you. For that reason, an evil person in christianity is not someone that is objectively immoral, but simply someone who defies God. Tanya the evil is not evil due to her/his actions, but rather due to their defiance of Being X. Since Being X is shown to be petty and vindictive, it can be concluding that Being X isn't objectively moral, and thus defying him is not objectively evil. And so I conclude that Tanya is not in fact objectively evil.

    It's kinda funny that Tanya's life story is similar to that of a Soviet WW2 tank commander Nina Bondar'. She was a pilot and was shot down in an uneven dogfight. Then she became a tanker in the 237th tank brigade and was given a battalion (about 30 tanks). Her fighting style was also non-traditional and outright daredevilish. She would often drive the tank herself, and she basically treated her tank like a freaking PLANE. But it worked! She once took out a Pz. IV tank in Slovakia, shooting it while jumping her own T-34-85! She shot the German tank while being mid-air! She got wounded four times as a tanker, many times were the single survivor of her crew, but would never give up.
    Nina Bondar' and her battalion was often breaking far ahead other units. She also loved to discipline her subordinates, and was insistent on cleaning tanks after each battle or march. And guess what, she had a best female friend in the same unit who was her adjutant.

    I think Tanya is a high-functioning psychopath for these reasons:
    -In her previous life (and if we take into consideration the LN, in which his boss told him to be wary of the people he fired), he failed to understand the concern for his life, as he could not put himself in the ex-worker's place and understand angry/fearful people can commit crazy acts;
    -Even though she does start to let her soldiers help and she herself works in team with them, I think it's more of a "I must be loyal thing", not "I want to be loyal", as psychopaths, when they are aware of their limitations, use connections to people in order to get around those limits. In other words, it's like a contract. They protect her. And like the system demands, she protects them;
    -Also, in the LN, she admits in her previous life, her friends were people she found interesting because of common interests, but little else. And apparently, his grades were quite low. This last one might not look important, but it is proved psychopaths have just as much, if not more, difficulties in academical intelligence, which was a major factor that lead him to choose her previous career. Yes, I know psychopaths usually see themselves above the system, but we can't forget they're also humans. Depending on the person, their interpretations of superiority can be widely diverse. Yes, I am aware she can often explain her reasoning and understand the system, but we've seen she does try to find loopholes every now and then without outright disobeying the rules.
    -Finally, in the way she fights, even though there's a certain pleasure to it (probably because of the adrenaline of the moment or something), she's very organized and can manage her impulses to work on her favor. I believe psychopaths often train themselves to use their flaws as weapons that they can keep under control.
    But of course, this is just my opinion. Feel free to disagree and present counter arguments.

    I think the artistic beauty of Tanya's views on rules is how *this* is the way she treats those who defy her...but then she gets angry when she is treated similarly for defying the boss of the universe.
    Edit: I find it beautiful instead of an annoyance like I normally would, because it brings about a question about her motives against Being X. If it's not about her convictions, then what is it about? It can't be about free will or wanting a cushy life, since Being X doesn't seem to typically interfere with the choices humans make, and the ultimate retirement to work towards is the afterlife (now that she knows God exists and reincarnations stop at some point). The most obvious reasons I can think of for her defying Being X's rules at the expense of comfort would be defiance and pride.
    TL;DR: Since her usual views, as displayed in scenes like this, don't align with her behavior towards Being X, we get to interpret deeper about why she refuses to acknowledge Being X as God.

We show the viewer a monster of a protagonist, someone who act on evil scheme, do not hold regrets for what they've done and fully willing to dispose of her subordinate if something doesn't go her own way. Yet that monster is very necessary for the after-life of our species because it is the only thing that is litteraly fighting a god that no longer wish salvation for the non-believers and facing it with its very own flaws because it is just as similar in personality. If Tanya fail the goal we get rid of that monster BUT no after-life for everyone. If tanya suceed we have to witness her murdering disobeying soldiers, abusing recruits, and serving as one of the high ranks under a war rule similar to WW1 Germany. Its kinda ironic that Tanya hates disobedience and yet her entire conflict is that she refused God’s will. Granted, Being X a petty god, influencing a world war inorder to smite her, but what can you do?

    • @jonquilgemstone
      @jonquilgemstone ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Imo, the war was happening anyway bc humans are that way. If you keep careful track, the countries really are responding by themselves, but Being X simply nudges a few personal decisions in order to simultaneously make her the empire's champion and punish her. Since the empire is mostly just responding to the hostile countries who want war mostly bc they fear the empire is getting too strong, and the public is usually pretty faithful, it's as if Being X is answering their prayers and trying to knock down Tanya's personal pride (which btw, would probably doom her eternally bc she obviously would refuse to go to Heaven if it means God is the one letting her in).
      Being X also made that one guy a champion to balance out Tanya abd be a thorn in her side, but his vengeful daughter is basically just as selfish and prideful as Tanya bc she's a *self-ordained* champion.

Like the doctor, the general, Mary Sue, everyone’s coked outa their minds with god’s grace, lol

    The crossover that I've been waiting to see ever since I found "Youjo Senki" is finally being written, hallelujah ! I give you, "Pixie of the Hidden Leaf" ! Featuring Tanya Deguracheff in the universe of Naruto. Witness as the Devil of the Rhine takes over as Team 7's prodigous sensei as a means to add it to her curriculum in order to become Hokage, with Kakashi resuming his missions as a ninja without having to worry about testing for a team.
    Reasons to read it:
    -She manages to make Sakura useful right at the begining;
    -Understanding the true gravity of training kids as child soldiers, she tortures, I mean trains, equally her kids to the limit while taking into account their psychological and emotional struggles, even managing to put some humility, for the moment, into Naruto and Sasuke (do not think it's easy to keep it that way though);
    -It seems the other teams are gonna share a bit more the spotlight with team 7 (especially team 8, one of the reasons being that Hinata's family has unresolved issues with Tanya);
    -Her mysterious past in that world;
    -It seems the other nations might also become more proeminent in their participation;
    -Haku and Zabuza's better treatment;
    -Her good relationship with an Akatsuki member (the shark looking bounty hunter).

      _"If words of command are not clear and distinct, if orders are not thoroughly understood, then the general is to blame. But, if orders are clear and the soldiers nevertheless disobey, then it is the fault of their officers."_
      Sun Tzu was ordered by his king to train concubine to perform a maneuver. When he gave the marching orders, the concubines giggled despite giving clear and precise instructions. He then gave the same orders again, but they still laughed. So, Sun Tzu told two of the concubines to step forward. He then decapitated them in front of the court. The rest of the concubine suddenly stepped in line and did exactly as Sun Tzu had ordered.

    Well, they say they will only go with victory or death despite being dismissed to go home, so we could say they choose death themselves. I fully understand Tanya, disobedient soldiers can send to waste any kind of war tactic or strategy of their superiors. If they dont want to go home, they're choosing death... hell, if I was in Tanya's position I'll have shoot them in the face myself so they dont waste anymore of my time. Her decision was too merciful.
