  • “I’m the money.” Bond (Daniel Craig) meets HM treasury agent Vesper Lynd (Eva Green) for the first time on the train to Montenegro in CASINO ROYALE (2006). The scene was shot at Modrany Studios in Prague. Producer Barbara Broccoli said: “She is the woman who places the biggest mark upon Bond for the rest of his life.”

Eva Green's portrayal of Vesper is proof that looks are helpful, but intelligence and personality are what make a person truly enjoyable to know as a friend or a romantic partner.

Not really intelligence to the degree that there’s some war of the minds occurring and somebody feels dumb out of the exchange.
Much of love is about accepting each other and personality/chemistry has much more of a hand in it.

The "Skewered. One sympathizes." is such a perfect line and delivery that I think it is one of the main things that escalated Daniel Craig to such a high mark so early on in my head. I have seen it a dozen times, but I never fail to audibly laugh.

It's my favourite line of this whole scene although I do have to admit I don't quite "get it". Is Craig talking about the actual lamb that he ate, or is it a cloaked reference to admitting that he has been thoroughly pwned by Green, without explicitly admitting defeat? The way I process it is as if she's asking "How's the burn?" and he's saying "It's there. One sympathises."

    Perfection...
There only a few directors I know that can pull of a scene like this
Tarantino and Nolan, but to see Campbell pull this off so effortless.
This movie is a gem, and my my casino royale truly is sublime as it ages.

I must have watched this scene twenty times or more and it's still just as delightful as the first time I saw it. Such great acting and writing. I adore this film.
